  1. I was in a pub up there and a load of shirters saints fans came in and started singing that, it was so embarassing.
  2. And that was a proper rivalry, we really did hate them! The sheer vitriol that used to cascade off the stands at the Dell and then St Marys back then was something to behold. It wasn't like the happy clappy atmosphere inside St Mary's these day, back then Tottenham games were filled with venom and hatred. It certainly ruined the careers of Kasey Keller and Neil Sullivan, two top international keepers on the time who never recovered from the verbal batterings they used to take on their visits to the south coast. It was in some ways sad to see grown men mentally breaking down in front of us and almost frightend to make saves in fear of what might await them when they turned to face the baying mob afterwards. Same with the strikers, you almost felt the Robbie Keane and co were too frightend to score, Southampton was a horrible place to be if you were assocaited with spuds (lol) in those days. Meanwhile the Spurs fans brave enough to make the journey south would attempt to slip in and out of St Mary's unnoticed, those that were stupid enough to make themselves known were quickly dealt with and left in no uncertain terms that they weren't welcome.
  3. I'm amazed there are people on here who think he is a great defender and will be fine in the premier league. He really isn't. A few goals last season and walking around clapping the fans at the end of every game seemed to have fooled people into thinking he's some world class defender last season. A few bits of reality for you. Some people seem to be fooled into thinking he had a great partnership with Fonte last season. The reality was that we we're flat track bullies, most of our clean sheets came when we dominated games, how many games did we pick up points where we defended brilliantly and held onto a 1-0 win or a backs to the wall point? When under pressure this great partnership looked fragile and often gave away sloppy goals. As soon as Jos arrived Fontes performances dropped off. For whatever reason the two of thm didn't look comfortable together. It's no coincidence that Fontes performances have picked up alongside Yoshida. A centre half is often as only good as his partner, look at how good Lundekvam was alongside Michael Svenson yet then how poor he looked alongside other partners. Centre backs are a unit and need understanding. For whatever reason Fonte and Hooliveld don't seem to have that. I'm sure some people will point to the odd game here and there and be up in arms that I dare to say Hooliveld isn't the best defender ever to have played for us. Hes a good guy and by no means a terrible player, just not good enough and was never going to be good enough for the premier league. I did warn of this last season but was told i was wrong and he was brilliant. However, look over the course of last season and look at how many soft goals we gave away and how many times we conceded in games we didn't dominate possession. That tells its own story as to how good he is. Whist it isnt his fault he is Hes certainly been the one to be found wanting this season more than the others.
  4. Sorry, against who?
  5. He is a politician.
  6. I reckon they got them from being punched in the leg on the coach coming back from Everton.
  7. He looks like a Swedish bloke that has eaten another Swedish bloke.
  8. Middle aged fathers fantasising about more attractive men getting dressed is another.
  9. Only those that are thick and couldn't read the two or three times I clearly said I didn't want him back.
  10. Not one person in the two pages I went through on the thread said yes, I couldn't be arsed to go through all 4 pages.
  11. I Am yet to meet a person in the real world, not on spaz boards that wants Adkins out. As for looking at things through through better eyes, I suggest you practise what you preach and read the thread again, I said on several occasions I didn't want Redknapp here. However I was disagreeing with people who say he is a crap, clueless manager, he isn't.
  12. The spoilt fans that want Adkins out. Of which there aren't any. So no one I guess?
  13. There are few things more vulgar than a woman drinking a pint of beer.
  14. You cannot being to understand what an anticlimax it was when I opened this thread, got to your post and it wasn't 'the' picture.
  15. I'm yet to see anyone say they want Adkins gone.
  16. It isnt any wonder When half of the mugs on here were expecting us to cruise through this 'average' division where the bottom 10 are no better than the top half of the championship and finish comfortably midtable this year as the inugural season in our unstoppable 3 year march to the champions league.
  17. Yep, my thoughts entirely. Only a fool would say he isn't a good manager. Don't want him here though.
  18. Another tedious post where people post on a thread to tell people they find it tedious.
  19. West Ham finished 5th when he was manager and Pompey finished ninth and won the FA Cup, hardly not getting anywhere near the top 6.
  20. They weren't crying when they were beating AC Milan in the champions league were they. Are you seriously blaming Redknapp for Pompeys troubles? If so then it Burleys fault we went into admin, not Wilde, Lowe and co.
  21. No I'm not. I said we don't know what budget previous managers had. Pavlychenko, Bentley, Darren Bent and Berbatov were all signed before Redknapp for over £10m each. How much donyou think they were on? Going back even further Dean Richards and Sergi Rebrov were signed for big money at the time. Do you think Jurgen Klinsman was playing for Spurs for peanuts?! So don't make our Redknapp had a pot of gold the others never did. Spurs have always been relatively big spenders. Youre speculating as to what the wages might be. When the facts show he spent little More than previous incumbents and had far greater success.
  22. /\ clearly the budget and wage bill want a problem for 'Daniel' as he brought the players to the club and approved the deals. Who could forget Redknapps Van Der Vaart signing interview from his car window where he said 'Daniel' rang him and said he had a present for him.
  23. Maybe he offered to let them install his personal toilet at SMS?
  24. Do you know what Spurs wage bill was and what his budget was then? Do you know what budget previous managers had? As I've said above any manager will want to continually improve their side, you should worry if they didn't. The fact that no champions league football this season isn't disasterous for spurs suggests their finances aren't in too bad a state, they aren't about to do a Leeds are they. Martin O'neill had a net spend of £70m whilst at Villa and never finished higher than 6th. Spurs finished 4th, 5th and 4th in his last three aeasons with a net spend of £8m. Yet some still crisitcse him as a manager that can only spend money. Something every manager needs, having it is one thing spending it wisely is another. And get your facts right Bentley, Jenas and Pavlychenko were at Spurs before Redknapp joined. And Adrian, im not talking about bringing him back and I don't like the bloke, just putting people right who say that he's a terrible manager with no clue who bankrupts clubs.
  25. As I said above, here is the only place He's failed and it was quite clear from the moment he got here he didn't want to be here. I have no idea what Tottenhams wage bill is but as a club which has qualified for the champions league under his management and would have again last season if it wasn't for Chelsea's improbable win of the trophy I'd expect them to have a wage bill of an established top 6 club, which is exactly what he's made them, unlike a number of managers that have tried and failed to do the same at Spurs.
