  1. Sorry, how many other players and who are saying it is an issue in this country? And what's your view on the managers? Do you agree with David James or is he lying?
  2. If this thread had been David James saying racism was an issue there would have been hundreds of posts on it by now. Isn't it great that a former England international and well respected figure in the game has come out and said this? It certainly is a break through that a black player feels he can come out and say he doesn't feel discrimated against and say with confidence that if black mangers aren't getting jobs its their own fault not because football is racist. It's great news for equality and hopefully the beginning of the end for this ridiculous positive discrimation we are seeing everywhere and people who fail being able to blame everything but themselves. I'm applaud David James for his comments and am glad to see common sense and self responsibility are being championed by influential figures in the game.
  3. I honestly think against Fulham we were unlucky with injuries. If we'd have had a proper right back we'd have won. Yoshida wasn't comfortable there, not his fault he isn't a full back, but Fulham targeted that weakness. Plus Hooliveld wouldn't have come on and he's really struggled this season.
  4. I'm saying Reid seems to be a good influence on Cortese. I'm agreeing with you you plank! Mockles says Reid saved Adkins job as well, unless you think him doing that is a negative thing?
  5. As proven by him persuading Cortese to keep Adkins, which Mockles clearly says. I know he has Cortese ear and I know that in the past he persuaded Cortese to keep Adkins, not this season, but in the past. Overall I think he's a good influence and Cortese listens to him, he calms Cortese down when he flies off the handle, which he does regularly. Still, I'm sure all, of what I'm saying will be dismissed as bulls*it.
  6. Can someone do a poll on pompey online and ask them who is planning on coming to St Mary's if Pompey are to be liquidated. Then Les will have some figures to back up his arguement of the legions of skates who will switch sides to support us. Just like there were legions of Saints fans who did the same when we were in admin and they were in the premier league.
  7. He didn't say that at all. He said Reid persuaded Cortese to keep Adkins. Do you consider doing this a bad influence?
  8. The football manager Generation.
  9. You've got it bear! The penny has dropped with me too and it all makes sense now. We won't need to give extra tickets to away fans for Man U and Chelsea etc as we'll sell them ourselves. But when Wigan and Fulham and those sort of clubs come to town we give them the extra tickets for theirs fans for the inevitable empty seats there will be in the home end for those ones. They can fill the groud with thier massive travelling army! Another piece of genius from the visionaries!
  10. I think Luke Shaw is the only one that could do that.
  11. Yep I remember Saha and Malbranque. Strachan said we could get them for about £10m or something and Lowe refused to do the deal because he didn't want to make Fulham financially stronger and us financially richer. I think it was Marcus Bent and not Darren Bent BTW.
  12. The most effective left sided threat we have in a decade or more. Apart from Bale and Bridge you mean?
  13. Yet Delgados attitude was clearly spot on. Especially when he would return to fitness just in time to play for Ecuador and then get injured on the flight home.
  14. Of course its bulls*it, it's not happy clappy positivity claiming everyone involved at SFC is the greatest person whoever lived.
  15. Think he was Benitezs final gift to Liverpool. I think he'll develop into a top player.
  16. In terms of success? Isn't success defined by the number of trophies, your fan base and history or am I missing something. What is success then? Are we more successful than Man U because we are running with only a few million of debt rather than 10s of millions? And don't delude yourself into thinking we'd be the biggest club in Scotland if we were there. Do think Cortese and the ML would have been interested if we were in Scotland? Do you think Ramirez would be here if we played in Scotland? The Liebherrs didn't buy us because they loved Southampton and it was a dream come true, they saw a chance to buy a club at a cheap price and get it back to the gravy train that is the premier league. If you took SFC as it is now into the SPL, yes we probably would come in the top 2 but If Southampton was and always had been a city in Scotland we'd be like Aberdeen, Hearts and Hibs.
  17. So we were only formed in 2009 then? Southampton leisure holdings no longer exist and we are owned by a new company, effectively a new club. So we have 0 FA cups our name and no history before 2009.
  18. They also beat English champions Leeds, home and away I believe. Just like they would have done to Havant and Waterlooville.
  19. It hasn't always been. In the 80s as well as rangers and Celtic Aberdeen had a very Good side that won the league a few times and a European trophy. Dundee United also had a very good side which got to the UEFA cup final, when the UEFA cup was a decent trophy with good sides playing in it. It may be sh*t now but in the past Scotland has produced some good players and sides. Some of the best players and managers Britain has produed are Scottish. Quite different to beating Havant and Waterloville every week. Your lazy assumption that Saints would be as successful as Rangers if we played in Scotland is bo*llcks. Southampton is a similar sized city to Aberdeen, if we were in Scotland we'd undoubtedly be a club just like them and in the shadow of Rangers and Celtic.
  20. Good to see JonJo Shelvey get a run out, I'm a big fan.
  21. I'm sure some people will claim he is the difference between being 2-0 up and being 15-0 up. He probably wouldn't have made much difference as the rest of the team has been sh*t.
  22. But they haven't won those 114 trophies playing in the the Scottish L2 have they. They got 49k a few weeks ago, that's incredible support for a 4th tier fixture in a very small country.
  23. Yep, totally agree.
  24. Except they haven't have they.
  25. Why are you making up comments? Bit wierd.
