    The ref

It wasn't a penalty, the defender just shouldered Chamberlain off the ball, which is a legal challange, the clueless goons around me all appealed but they were the same ones moaning at our players for keeping the ball rather than humping it long. The ref was poor, gave Lambert nothing, but we only have outselves to blame for not winning, Notts County were not a good side, but they defended well. If Gully sqaured to Chamberlain after 10 mins, chamberlain slots into an empty net for 1-0 totally different game and we probably win 3 or 4. Very poor play from Gully that, shooting from an angle instead of a 10 yards sideways pass for Chamberlain to put it into the open goal.
  2. Utd fans sing it about Wayne Rooney as the White Pele, doesn't quite work for Alex!! The Rebel Rebel one would be better as Chambo Chambo, You wear 26 Chambo, Chambo, You've got all the tricks Chambo Chambo, Like Jacko you're bad, Chambo Chambo, you're better than your dad
  3. Mark Pugh? He was heavily linked in December. You got a link mate?
  4. to the tune of Agadoo by Black Lace Chamberlain, lain, lain he is quick down the wing Chamberlain, lain, lain Our midfield magician. To the left, to the right, He'll run rings round you alnight, he is class with a pass And he sh*ts on Fabregas to the tune of Rebel Rebel, David Bowie Chamberlain, You wear 26 Chamberlain, You've got all the tricks Chamberlain, Like Jacko you're bad, Chamberlain, you're better than your dad
  5. Because your opinion is ALWAYS negative!! Classic case, after the easy 4-1 against Huddersfield "we all know we will f*ck it up against Exeter and Dagenham, after the first day of the first ashes test, "we will lose 5-0" FFS!!!
  6. It's all hearsay, however if it is true that he hit him with a bottle and beat the sh*t out of someone then a "mate" of mine got 4 years for GBH with intent about 8 years ago for doing something not disimilar.
  7. I'm not criticsing you going to see Saints, if l lived abroad i would hardly see them either, in fact when i lived in Yorkshire for 18 months 12 years ago i only made about 6 or 7 games one season. What i find hard to understand is you say you use this forum to inform yourself, fair enough, yet argue the toss with anyone who is willing yet expect everyone to accept your opinion.
  8. You need 20-24 good players, not 35 average ones. Buying "one for the squad" or "cover" players leads to trouble. THis was the transfer policy we had in and leading up to our relegation season, we ended up with a massive squad of players not good enough for the premier league but on premier league wages. Rather than spending £4m and £30k a week on a player to improve the first team we ended up with the likes of McCann, kenton, Van Damme, Nielsen & Jaccobsen whose wages and transfers alone would have probably have covered the signing of two decent PL players. The only player we signed between relegation the cup final who were better than what we have were Phillips and Crouch and he was a gamble as he had failed at VIlla.
  9. Just to be clear i am not "yang" as Alpine put it, blindingly backing the club regardless of what goes on on or off the pitch. In fact only around a month ago i posted a thread that compared to this time last year in terms of points gained and performances we had not progressed and many of our wins had not been conivincing. The absolutely superb form overr christmas and new year has changed my view on that as we have been outstanding, beating teams easily and the team seems to be really clicking into gear. The fact that we could make 8 changes and still comfortably beat an albeit weakened premier league side shows taht we have a very strong squad who are all playing well and are good enough to get promotion, like any squad a couple of top notch signings for this league wont harm out chances, like any club in the world if players better than you have are available then it would be foolish not to buy them. Some people seem to forget we are in league one though and seem to think we need a squad for of 35 world beaters with top notch players sitting around collection big wages incase we get injuries In contrast, Alpine is negative about absolutely everything. After the 4-1 win against Huddersfield, Alpines comments were "we all know we will f*ck it up against Exeter and Dagenham" i think that just sums up the attitude of the man. I thing that what winds most people us is the fact that he doesn't go to games, has never seen the team play and says he informs himself off this website, yet regardless of what the current view is his comments are always negative to the point where it appears he enjoys us losing or failing, so he can say "i told you so". I fail to understand who someone who doesn't go to games an relies on this messageboard to "inform" himself can be so argumentative against the people he claims to rely on. Anyway enough of this, i'm off to the Rapid Vienna forum to tell them that they will lose today, their squad is to weak to win the Austian league and they wont make the champions league unless they sign 9 new players.
  10. Isn't that the case with most referees?
  11. You're wasting your time mate, we've had this 1000 times on other threads but Alpine knows best, because he hears the odd match report and keeps himself informed, lol.
  12. unlikely, but you can sure he'll be on here with "his" opinion about it, venting his spleen if we haven't won 5-0 or god forbid anyone picks up a knock.
  13. And i am sure you will be jizzing into your Apfelstrudels should Puncheon and AOC leave, Lallana be out for the season and Barnard get life Of course no other club in the world has rumours about its player leaving during the transfer window, or will get any injuries between now and the end of the season.
  14. change the f*cking record you boring din.
  15. There are two things to bear in mind. If they want to make it a deterant sentance then being of previous good character matter not one bit. Judges can dish out what they want up to the maximum if they are using it as a deterant sentance and want to make an example. The other thing is current government thinking and from inside the prison service (a very good friend of mine works in a fairly senior role for the HMP) is that if it is a first offence and the sentance would usually be less than a year then they are not being banged up and given heavy community service and fines etc So basically either he will get lucky and get a suspended sentance, heave fine or community service or he is f*cked and will be made an example of and be given a tough sentance of year plus, he wont get 6 months IMO. Given that he will be able to afford his own brief and not have to rely on the sh*t, couldn't give a toss, legal aid barristers your man on the street has to put up with, then he'll have a barrister which will argue his case rather than just turn up so it appears like he's got a defence, then i think he'll be a lucky boy. All assume is indeed guilty of course.
  16. Mango restuarant, 27 Portswood Road is is superb and does a cracking lunchtime menu of a red or green thai curry and a drink for £8. If you want to go a bit upmarket Cenos is a nice bar Swaythling end of Portswood. Loads of take aways etc and you're not far from the Hobbit which is a good for a few ales and live music of a night.
  17. Superb irony. I dont have a problem with Canada Saints, Sweden Dave or Tijuana Tim so kind of p*sses on your arguement of my supposed vendetta against anyone that doesn't live in an SO postcode, but then they dont argue the toss about everything and anything. Also hilarious that you consider actually having first hand knowledge of a subject a P*ssing contest. Well done you for getting a job abroad, must make you a genius, presumably you know a bit more about your job than reading about it on an internet forum?
  18. He isn't credible, he hasn't seen the current team play or any of the players. He relies on hearsay and internet posts to form his views and when challenged on them fails to provided any reasoned argument about any of them. He just recycles the same old clap trap, "we need to strengthen" with the arguement that incase we get injuries, i am truely amazed that someone who has no first hand knowledge or experience of the subject he is so vocal about can be so opinonated and arrogant.
  19. Agreed JRM, people labeling him "scum" are a bit over the top, he made a stupid mistake and has payed for it. At the end of the day he killed someone in a car accident, key word being accident. It's not the same as him beating the sh*t out of some innocent bloke in the street who looked at him funny or raping some bird because she told him to f*ck off. People are so quick to condem. I am in no way condoning drink driving etc or his actions but let him that without sin cast the first stone. And another thing is his job is a pro footballer and to say he should never work again becuase of a mistake and an accident is very judgemental. On that basis should anyone who commits a crime never be allowed to work again?
  20. He wouldn't know TDD, he has never seen him play.
  21. no, we need to strenghten, i dont know where, why or with who, we just do. And the fact that this squad has won 70% of it's last 20 games is irrelevant, we will get injuries so we need to strengthen.
  22. Never usually, i think the only time i felt a little bit was for the 300 or so Dagenham fans at SMS, more because i have a bit of history with them and like them as a club, when they were 4-0 down at SMS and they started singing "let us score" i thought that was funny and kind wanted them to get one just for that really.
  23. They've lost their best striker in McClean. I wouldn't be overly concearned, lets hope new manager syndrome hits them on saturday and they turn Brighton over.
  24. Ditto you with my opinon. Okay then, so the squad which has won 70% of its last 20 games and would have 102 points if this was over the course of a season isn't good enough for promotion. I'll leave it there, thank you and good day.
  25. Or alternatively we could simply be confident, both as a team and a fanbase, the team seem to have got the balance right and playing with confidence but not arrogance, oh you wouldn't know would you, no one has posted it on here yet.
