Kids maybe, but not grown men in their 30's and 40's, that is just embarassing. Seen it many time at saints, home and away. -

I've been to Elland Road quite a few times as got family up there who are leeds, heard that a few times. I wouldn't worry though, it's got more than 4 words to it so our fans will struggle, plus any words will be clapped over and sung at 1,000,000 mph so they wont be able to make it out anyway. -

Believe me fella, i wish our away support was as good as theirs. You lot look and learn on the 29th. No wigs, face paints and jester hats, proper fans, making a lot of noise and singing decent, inventive songs. -

I went along to the 2008 chairty shield when they beat the Skates on pens, went with some Utd fans in their end. Found their fans sound as, good lads, some good songs and a lot of proper fans there. Not like a lot of the flakey, studenty and middle clas mongtards we get at a lot of away games, singing every song at 10000000 mph. Also their flags and banners are quality, best one was red, white and black horizontal stripes, a Man Utd badge in middle and the James lyric "If i hadn't see such riches i could live with being poor" written around it. Class. United have the best away support in the country IMO. -
It's called banter, a bit like Alps saying he over estimated my reading ability. Something i was deeply offended by.
-
In the one game he has played this season he has kept a clean sheet. So yes he has 100% clean record. We should keep Fonte out as well as the Martin/Seaborne centre half pairing has a 100% clean sheet record as well.
-
You are right about that, he is meant to be a bellend, rumour has it of course. I really dont know and cant comment, although Beattie was an utter c*ck and the unity amoungst the squad was good then. I guess it depends on the management being strong enough with him to not let his ego get him ahead of himself. End of the day he is a young lad who 18 months ago was earning £500 a week laying bricks, i am sure a good man manager will be able to sort him out, all IMO of course.

I haven't appointed myself anything, asked you a couple of simple questions which you failed to answer. http://www.footballforums.net/forums/forumdisplay.php/62-League-One is a good site to research good L1 one players on, run along onto there, do some research get some names and come back when you can tell us who we need to strengthen with. There are lots of people on there who can tell you what to think.
-
Do we need to strengthen or not? I cant decide now if you think we do or not.
-
we need to strengthen, i dont know where, with who or why, but we need to strengthen. Fact. Ffs.
-
Yep, course i am, like i said, it's not you it's everyone else.
-
No of course there isn't, there wouldn't be, its not you, it's everyone else

Two reasonable and non confrontational, non arrogant and non aggressive posts from ex pats, they didn't even say everyone else was talking b*llocks, Sweden Dave even goes as far as saying what type players we need, you see Alps it can be done without taking the skin off your chubby fingers tips due to such quick and angry typing. As i said as above Dave, in an ideal world i'd luck us to keep everyone, a motivated Puncheon will be like having a new player anyway if he wants to stay, if not then that area needs to be looked at. And i'd like us to sign a Charlie Austin standard striker, young, motivated but with a decent record who will get goals, Austin or Jordan Rhodes tick all the boxes on that score. People have mentioned Adam Le Fondre and on paper he looks good but I've never seen him play other than goal highlights so cant comment, i wouldn't be a hyprocrite and say someone i had never seen play was the answer to everything and will guarentee promotion.
-
Apparantly Palace have made him an improved offer, a Charlton fan i know has told me just now. He is gutted, they really want him.
-
So to sum this thread up then.... Alpine thinks we need new signings for promotion as the squad needs strengthening, however he cant say how he knows it does, why or where we need to strengthen or with which players, we just need to strengthen. He has never seen the current Saints team or any of our players play, so forms his opinons based on what he reads on internet forums and sites. Despite 95% of the people posting on this thread, most of them having see the team play, agreeing that new signings are nice to have rather than essential for promtion, a forum from which Alpine must surely use to form his opinion, he still insists that they are essential, although he cant confirm why, unless it's because someone MIGHT get injured. Despite insisting we need new players to make sure promotion is "nailed on" He cant make up his mind if we should sign new players ready for next season now, if we buy them now if we giving them time to settle in might upset our promotion bid, however what if someone gets injured and we haven't signed anyone? According to Alps that will ruin our promotion bid as well By the way you are all talking b*llocks and he right. Have i missed anything?
-
You are contradicting yourself now Alps, give it up, you are looking really foolish.
-
I take it the irony of your post is lost on you.
-
It's not his opinion dont forget it's everyone elses.
-
Damned if he does damned if he doen't. As we have made bids Alpine can say that we need to improve, strenghten etc and the management agree, if we haven't made bids he can moan that the club are not backing up their statements about needing promtion by cash etc, either way he cant lose. I find it hilarious that someone can be so aggresive and arrogant about something they know absolutely nothing about other than cherry picking other peoples opinons and passing them off as his own, it's brilliant. The funniest thing of all is that despite all his "we need to strengthen" mantra, he has failed to name a single player who he thinks would fit the bill. I think that tells us all we need to know about his football knowledge.
-
This is probably the greatest least self aware post i have ever seen. On this thread alone you have constantly ignored my questions to you then you pick one part of one sentance, ignoring everything else and the questions i have put to you all through this thread and accuse me of changing the subject. We all know your well documented views on strengthening, we've heard them enough, so come on, who and where? Come up with something tangable instead of "we need to strengthen" Surely you've read enough internet posts to form an opinon on that as well. Your chubby little fingers have been angrily tapping away all day today haven't they my chunky friend, maybe if you spent less time in front of your computer and went out for a walk in those mountains the club might have in stock a replica shirt that fits you.
-
Here we go again, Alps copies one line from the paragraph, fails to answer any of the other questions and uses the "i didn't say exactly those words" line. Your usual kop out. Okay, lets play it another way, given the feedback on here and in the echo now, do you think without any new signings, we will or wont get promotion? You've also failed to answer my question on who you think we should sign. A Come on tell us.
-
"mental" as you would put it. Fine to have an opinion, the guy in Sweden makes some valid points, but he doens't accuse everyone of talking b*llocks that doesn't agree with him. So given the feedback on this forum that 90% of people on this thread who go to games and see things themselve all agree a couple of class players at this level are nice to haves rather than desperately important, also what Adkins has said in terms of the players he is looking for, do you still maintain with the view of the small, tiny minority, that unless we sign loads of cover players by the end of January we can write promtion off? here is some more feedback from the echo by the way. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8780243.Adkins_has_plenty_in_reserve/

It is and we do! Bloody hell we've got squad players out on loan at Championship clubs! The point about Arsenal, Barcelona etc is taht every team has a few key players, Chelsea are no where near as good without Lampard and Drogba, we dont need poorer quality squad players and fillers in case of injury, we need a squad of 20-25 good players and getting good players to join a league one club knowing they are not the star man or might not even get a start is not that easy. Players we will be interested will also be interesting championship sides.
