  1. Exactly, i cant believe i have seen posts on here stating that, someone once even put a players FM stats on here that we were linked with, embarassing.
  2. We all seem to be ITK when it comes to who we want to sign, the 'we should sign Neil Danns' bandwagon seems to grow by the second, how many of you lot have actually seen him play? I've only seen him a couple of times and he looks decent but dont know enough about him to to say if he is going to be a great signing or not. Same could be said for Fonte & Rickie Lambert, i dont think i'd ever seen Fonte play when he joined us and Lambert once, against us in the cup. Butterfield on the other hand i know a bit about and have seen him on numerous occasions over the years and know he is a good, solid but unspectacular pro and a very good signing. I just wonder how often the we should sign, him, him and him, bandwagon is based on knowledge of the player or speculation and hearsay.
  3. Sounds a bit like James Beattie.
  4. You going to the Magnum club?
  5. £80k a week wasn't it? Utter madness, that alone is reason why he will not be joining us.
  6. maybe not, but in general it tends to be the way these signings work out. I dont think it'll happen anyway, i am amazed PL and CCC are not queuing up to sign him. Chapel End Charlie wont want him anyway, he is over 30.
  7. these signing often have the tendancy to f*** up as well, player comes in on big money with a massive ego, thinks he is above the team and the level and never quite does it.
  8. She is amazing, really really sexy, BBC1 Breakfast has never been the same since i could watch her on it.

Why in that case is Rod Laver rated by many as the best of all time? And when he does win something then he can be described as excellent, until then he is not in the same league as the others.
  10. the irony in that post is overwhelming.
  11. Yet despite him being by your own admission, 'unproven' in yours eyes he is the next rooney and warrants a place in the team ahead of someone who you acknowledge is a decent CCC player?
  12. I know what you mean but I really dont have a problem with Spurs, i used too, but that was due to their fans being deluded, i think most are more realistic now.
  13. Much prefered Spurs doing it than Man City. I actually like Spurs, proper club, decent fans and a lot less JCL's like you get at Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool etc.
  14. The Hod carrying was okay, bit of a laugh, plus i think brickies know its quite hard graft so they have a laugh with you. The labouring was ****, cleaning up, moving **** about, just mind numbing and any c*nt can do it.
  15. a few of our fans would like that...... I dont really have a problem with them, except paying ridiculous wages, £185k for Yaya Toure, a player Barcelona were selling anyway. Good player that he is he hardly deserves to be highest paid premier league player.
  16. 1-0 (or whatever the score is) in your cup final
  17. this is more apt [video=youtube;zrQ8-U4UmOE]

Some one said he is an example of excellence, read above, i didn't say he wasn't good, just he is not an example of excellence, as he hasn't won anything major. Feder and Nadal are excellent, top players and winners, that is the difference. Each generation produces its greats though, would Murray have been in the same league as Samprass, Borg, Becker, Agassi, Mcenroe, Lendel, Effenberg etc? I dont think so.
  19. He'd have been dumped by the time of the recording.

Regardless of it being dubbed the 'fifth grand slam' it isn't one. Should he fail to win one of those when they look back on his career 0 - will be in the grand slams won column, which is the benchmark of tennis excellence, until then he cant be talked about in the same breathe as the others. That is the problem with british sport in general, we consider being a nearly man as being a legend and willing to admire unlucky losers and try hards . To me for someone to be considered truely excellent they have to be at the top of their game for a relavatively decent lenght of time, Joe Calzaghie is an example of a true british sporting great. A world champion for 10 years who beat everyone put in front of him.

As my post above Warwick, anything that matters, not the tennis equvilent of the charity shield, the Oxfordshire benevolent Cup or the ted Bates trophy, i suggest you realise the difference between a proper tournement and a meanless trophy before passing judgement. Won something that matters? You are having a laugh.
