Nearly 5 mins for a VAR check 🤦

Wales 3-3 with Belgium after being 3-0 down great game but ruined by the woman commentator who has said “the red wall” about 50 times

Been a while since last "where are they now (posters)" thread?

Probably nobody. All the good posters have left and you can see why! -

Last year of his contract I suspect we’ll settle for about £6m which’ll be about a third of what we paid for him
-
Youd though signing Carrillo for a record fee then sacking the manager who wanted him was as bad as it could be but this was something else

I’ve tried about 20 times with this and come up with a different team every time. The constant features are Buffon Maldini Iniesta Messi depending on the formation it was R9 + Van Basten up front If it was my personal favourite players ie maybe not the best players but ones I’ve liked over time Franceso Totti would be in there too, Pirlo, Ibrahimovic. Berkamp probably, Modric, Bale So hard to pick one team

Chelsea signing Jamie Gittens from Dortmund reminded me of our own big money signing John Gittens back in the late 80s. IIRC the fee was about £500k which was a bit wedge of money back then. The problem was a couple of years before we’d sold him for £50k and when he came back for 10 times more he wasn’t much better and didn’t play much this time round either

I had to laugh at the commentator at the end saying England need to be playing better opposition, surely if you’re going to chose a competitive match at the end of the season you’d want to play a ski resort
-
Yeah about that…..

How many goals was it we conceded from giving it away whilst doing exactly that. 12 wasn’t it or something like that

Define doing better than most i found out in Brussels this week they the Belgians who are employed are entitled to automatic pay rises by law in line with inflation what a great system that is. of course no issue with paying more the more you earn the issue is that when you get to a certain level you’re giving nearly half you wage in income tax and still they want more. The point was is there really any point striving for more when you don’t really see a huge benefit from it. Of course your house and car won’t be as nice, less luxuries but does any of that really matter at the end of the day?

Maybe there is a nod back here to the is life really all that thread - which we all mocked years ago the more you earn and better you do the more they want - every year despite having always been PAYE I have to do a tax return it never goes in my favour and I always owe more i pay 40% in a good year some time 45% of my wage in tax plus a compulsory tax on my pension which they insist I now pay toward. I live in a house now where the council tax is more than double where we previously lived all in all is it really worth even aspiring to be successful in this day and age? It certainly seems doing fuck all with out the pressure of a job is a much better world than actually working for a living and trying to better yourself and they fuck you

@The Kraken @CB Fry remember the days when we were assured even Alan Pardew could win the league at Man United. It was an easy job which even the most average managers could be successful and Fergie was just an average manager who got lucky

I always remember in about 1988 saints best Scarborough 1-0 in the then litttlewoods cup after a 2-2 draw at their place and Rod Wallace was on the same bus as us home back to townhill Park how football and life has changed

Tbf the nice bit of Glasgow in mile better than anything ocean village has to offer. It’s a great city if you know where to go It’s absolutely laughable people who have never left Southampton which is one of the dullest cities in Europe slag off places like Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, London etc
