  1. What’s more likely to make someone gamble? Seeing something on a football shirt or having a dozen bookies in every high street or being able to open your phone and gamble within seconds. There are a lot more things that need to be regulated before advertisements
  2. Obviously it does work. For example when Carling premier came out In the days it was the FA carling premiership I drank a few pints of it, even though I’ve always Carling. It didn’t mean I became alcoholic, because addiction is much more complex than simply trying to convince a market to buy your product over the others out there by putting your name in a place people will see it. I repeat once again no one ever became an addict because of something they saw on a football teams shirt.
  3. There have been a huge amount of studies done on what makes someone an addict, look it up if it interests you. I can tell you what it isn’t. It isn’t seeing the name of a company on a football teams top.
  4. Interesting point. I wonder how many people in the UK bought dimplex or Sanderson (still no idea what they are) products because they were a sponsor of saints once. Have we all got Aon insurance on our Chevrolets because they sponsor Man U? Do we fly eithad everywhere because they sponsor Man City? Sorry but it’s all bullshit virtue signalling every saying it’s a disgrace a betting company sponsor a football team. Not one single person has ever become addicted to gambling because they saw a company name of a football shirt, the issues that lead to it run far deeper.
  5. I’ve never meant anyone who has became a compulsive gambler because they saw an advert on a football teams shirt. In the same way I’ve never meant an alcoholic who became an alcoholic because of something written on a football teams shirt. Be interested to know if anyone else has.

    Coronavirus

I’ve no idea. But to say one minute get a vaccine that’s the answer to getting out of this, no more lockdowns, let’s get back to normal then a few weeks later to say stand by, it’s going to be as bad as it got in 5 months time doesn’t ring true particularly when the evidence of last Summer suggests the virus almost died out with the better weather last year. It’s either extreme scaremongering or something else going on.

Why bother with the vaccine then if all that’s going to happen is a new variant avoids the vaccine and attacks everyone who hasn’t had one? They said there would be thousands of variants from day one and it’s only when the vaccines started rolling out they started going on about variants of concern. everyone get a vaccine it’ll all be fine, now even with that we’re being told in September there Will be as many people in hospital as there were in January. Nah not having it. I’m not even convinced they’re properly tracking the variants anyway, I asked my mates wife to ask the hospital which variant he had, they didn’t know it was just down as Covid, surely if you’re going to test anyone it’s someone who’s been on life support for two months with the damn thing. as I say I’m under no illusions how bad it can be, but it’s not stacking up now. Especially as this is what the third or fourth time we’ve been down this “only a couple more months” line for the goalposts to them be moved

    Coronavirus

It’s all very strange and starting not to ring true to me. I’m under no illusions how bad Covid CAN be, but with half the country vaccinated how can there be a wave as bad as January.
  9. Why are people saying it’s a disgrace?

    Coronavirus

It’s the same old method isn’t it. Just a few more months they say, then we get their drip fed articles about how we aren’t there yet, new variants, vaccines are our way out of it, now testing it our way out of it, it goes on and on and round and round. This latest news from Sage is particularly baffling though, there seems to be absolutely no reason why we’re to expect a late summer wave as bad as January. I also don’t get the look at how bad it is in Europe rationale either. It was really bad in Europe this time last year, films of vans full of bodies being carried away in Italy, the french having to carry documents to prove why they were out the house. Yet despite all that last summer life was relatively normal here with minimal infections. Now with half the country vaccinated and saying herd immunity on Monday they’re saying prepare for another big wave back end of the summer, Not buying it. None of it stacks up
  11. Agree on KWP. I’d put Tripper ahead of Alexander as well, think he offers more all round.
  12. Came through their academy did he? Massively over rated, I mean he’s by no means a bad player But the hype around his is ridiculous he’s probably about 5th choice for the right back spot for England. What’s interesting is despite scousers claiming to be scouse not English they seem awfully upset he didn’t get picked for England.

    Coronavirus

i nearly lost my best mate to Covid so certainly aware of how serious it can be. However the sage predictions don’t stack up, as I say last summer with no one vaccinated there were negligible infections when with the farcical eat out to help out and loads of people going abroad for holidays. By this August everyone will be vaccinated, so how can they say there will be a summer rise to january levels? This has got to be bollocks.

    Coronavirus

UK to be at heard immunity by Monday. 👏🏻👏👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿 yet Sage saying there will be a surge in hospitalization between August and October? Why, won’t every adult have a vaccine by then? Last summer with no vaccines there were only a few hundred infections a day. Why is there going to be a surge this summer when the whole country has been vaccinated
  15. I rate him, strong. Intelligent, his hold up and link up play are excellent. He does lack a bit of composure in front of goal, trying to hit it as hard as he can when he gets a chance. If he could learn that he doesn’t need to smash it, Ian rush was one of the best finishers I’ve ever seen, he passed the ball into the net every single time, get the VHS cassettes out Che.
  16. I loved that white away shirt when I was a kid.
  17. 👆🏼22, 50 goals in 70 games for RBS. Young, hungry and guaranteed to improve. Looks to fit the bill and profile of what we are recruiting these days quick, versatile and can play up front or outwide. Fee is £17m supposedly but Liverpool and Man United also linked. seems very exciting if indeed there is anything in it 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
  18. The same club that named a fanzine after a date they beat us too. Yet we are a small, insignificant bunch of farmers with no history, they’re a massive club, So successful with the most passionate and hardest fans in the country.

  21. Fair comments. I’d expect the club to think Adams will continue to develop, then we’ll sign the next Adams, a championship or foreign striker for £10-15m. But you’d think reading the report the striker we want is in addition if Ings stays, if goes we’ll bring in two.
  22. Why do you fear that? He’s obviously a first choice player in a team that contains Ings, I don’t see any reason to think the club see him as Ings replacement. It’s strange that he has very quickly become a key player for us even if at times he’s really frustrating. I’d expect to see Long and perhaps Obafemi go in the summer if the stories of us bringing another striker in are correct, then if Ings goes a replacement for him.
  23. He’s meant to be very highly rated. Reasonable chance Brentford will come up which will make it harder to get him
  24. Stig Johansen? vegard Forren?
  25. How can this be when Efan Ekokou expert punditry told us yesterday 2-0 isn’t a real lead?
