  1. Shame Utd look to have a few players back for this one, but they aren't all that. If Di Maria, Rooney etc are on their game then there isnt a lot you can do about it but hopefully we have Clyne back and our best currently available team out and we will definitely give their backline some problems.
  2. Could be good if Spurs get Ings, maybe they wouldn't also want Jay Rod?
  3. Team picks itself IMO: ------------------Forster------------------ Clyne-----Fonte------Toby-----Bertrand -----------Morgan-----Wanayama------ -----------------------Davis--------------------- Tadic---------------------------------Elia ------------------Pelle------------------ Barring injuries we don't know about I would be suprised to see much else.
  4. Exactly. And many Saints fans would have been quite happy for us to sign the genius of Craig Mackail-Smith to replace Guly back in the L1 days. He did well for us, but took a lot of stick from supporters so lets not rewrite history and pretend he was universally considered a fantastic player for us.
  5. Going to Inter apparently.
  6. Its not. But its mad for people to be labelling Guly a "genius". He was a decent player. No more, no less. Certainly not a genius. Time can warp opinions.
  7. Mane himself will be absolutely desparate to play.
  8. http://m.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/11708635.Tottenham_lead_chase_for_highly_rated_Burnley_striker_Danny_Ings/ News of SWFs favourite son.
  9. Yes he scored some nice goals (Bristol Rovers at home, Blackpool in the Cup too) but wasn't exactly a genius IMO. Genius is what Hazard or Fabregas are in the PL. In League One Lallana was a genius, Guly was a good player in a very good team. I also seem to remember a lot of fans not rating him, to put it kindly. Players like Dean Hammond or Dan Harding were probably more important for us in L1 than Guly IMO.
  10. Was he actually a "genius" in L1? Lallana was, Lambert was. Guly was just a decent player. But not a genius FFS.

    Mane

More likely he is downplaying the injury as is desparate to have a chance to play in the ACON. Can't blame the guy for that. Just hope he and Senegal are sensible and don't rush him back too soon.

    Mane

Bet Sakho plays for WH before the tournament ends! They have done well with Song also not going.
  13. Yep. West Ham were going to send their own physios to the ACON to look after Sakho as they were ****ed off that he got injured last time he was away with Senegal and they didnt think much of the care. Wonder if we may do similar. If Koeman says up to 6 weeks and Mane 2 then one of them is telling porkies...
  14. Seems pretty likely by all accounts. Pretty sure 99% of Saints fans would wish him well.
  15. Few people on Twitter calling Guly a Saints legend. Christ.
  16. Close to joining Real Madrid and has been offered a first team squad place apparently.
  17. Sunderland going for previous Saints target Virgil van Dijk apparently.
  18. And they don't earn nearly what Real and Barca do, plus they signed him from Ajax for a relatively small fee. Not likely to then put a backup defender on 75k a week. If he was then the likes of Costa or Koke were/are on 150k a week which they weren't/aren't.
  19. They now say that he "creates space for others". He seems to be a forward that is exempt from judgement based on goals, assists and chances created.
  20. Would rather have 16m Chambers than 12m Long tbh.
  21. Agree, was the same for the Villa away game where Tadic, Long, Pelle and Mane all started. Would ideally have Long as an impact sub, he is better against tiring defenders. But without Mane or Elia we didnt have a lot of recognised forward options. Still a striker light IMO.
  22. Hardly that. You can win and still have players not playing well and the opposite too. He doesn't contribute towards our season either way to be honest so not really related to our results but he has been largely poor whilst most of his teammates have been largely excellent. For what we ask him to do (not the role he has for most of his career), he isn't suited or really good enough. Poor signing.
  23. Susb aren't of better quality than the players they would replace. Not the right time in a game like that IMO. Koeman rarely has quality sub options to call upon.
  24. Yeah he might I just think he is a good player but not at the level of a Lovren (for us) or Toby. He will probably get more comfortable the more he plays though. He and Toby must be of a similar age.
