Spurs spent over 45m on their TG which is considered the best in the PL. Clearly NC wanted to compete with the best and at least that leaves a long term mark unlike transfer spend. Poor Commercial income is the headline here IMO. Plus the summdr would aplear to be a case of keeping existing players rather than spending big on any new ones. Certainly wouldnt expect any 10m plus signings unless we do sell someone. Would be totally happy to sign nobody major if it meant keeping all the players we have.

Hope we sort Jay's contract out soon. He has played the required number of games to trigger a new one.

Besides, only Krul, Collocini and Remy would feature.

IMO 27m isn't enough. Shaw will develop into the best left back in the world, and could play for whoever signs him for 10+ years. Fellaini cost that much FFS.

He has been miles better the last couple of weeks. Seems to be playing without so much pressure on his shoulders.

He has got more from Lallana, Jay Rod, Fonte and Steven Davis than even those players probably thought they had in them. I hope they have it under control re Poch, I really do.

Glasgow's form has definitely mirrored that of Portsmouth over the past couple of years. He actually used to be a decent WUM and then got drunk of some relative success.

Stephens hasnt been on the losing side for Swindon yet in his 3 starts and has been getting some great reviews on their forum. Good to hear.

Has struggled to make it off the bench for a poor Peterborough side so far in his loan spell. Would think its tough for him to make it at Saints.

Not won a game with Hooiveld playing. Gazzaniga not up to it. Ditto Davis.Don't see you linking them with anyone. We have some superb players, but the sum of the squad isnt better than Spurs, Utd, Everton etc.

Nothing to consider. He is doing a great job and has improved some of our players immeasurably. If he goes at the end of the season it will be our loss and anyone who can't see that IMO is clueless. We are where we deserve to be. We dont have players as good as those above us.

As title says, what a Captain to have. Personally always on it, and leads by example to others in so many ways, from work rate & decision making to composure and never giving up. Has really grown into the role and one of a small number of Saints legends for me. Great to watch such a talented player lead the side each week and showing he cares. Would be amazed if he doesn't get at least 80% of the vote in POTS awards. A class above everyone else in our team. We are lucky to have him.

But how do RK and KL see it? We know there is an emphasis on homegrown players of course but as far as league placings etc go, there isnt anything concrete at all. Spurs are an upper third PL team but MP was suggsting we are not playing for the same prizes as they are. I can't imagine himnsaying that under Cortese (more that they were direct competition). Perhaps ambitions have been reigned in somewhat?
