Indeed. Pardew and Adkins fulfilled their role, but at the moment MP is showing he could take us as far as we can really go with the squad we have. As Gary Neville said, this kind of coaching plus players of top 4 level gets a Barca or Bayern and plenty of the top clubs will have noticed that.

Seems in true SWF fashion this was completely blown out of proportion. Especially pleased for the mung bean who said Lallana is the 'last person I would choose as skipper'. His attitude, application and skill are first class, and he is a homegrown player - a brilliant role model and leader for us. In fact, is there a player in the PL who combines skill and work rate in the same way AL does? Rooney perhaps but theres not many.

Hope he is enjoying his evening. He deserves it. Massive, massive job he has done at Saints in an era where those in charge of Football clubs often get nothing but stick.

In an average game neither JWP or Davis look like scoring. Ramirez does and we sont have many goal scorers.

Good teams but not outstanding individual players capable of stepping up to PL level? First team staff not brave enough to take out an experienced pro and replace with a rookie? Combination of both most likely, and luckily neither is a problem for us.
