  1. He has been doing well to start with some fierce midfield competition. Get the impression Managers really like his attitude as well as ability.
  2. Anyway, Stephens seems to have been harmed by being so versatile yet Chambers has benefitted from it. Turnbull's position is clear, but he lacks pace and composure on the ball for me. Neither will be PL players IMO, but both should have a future in the game.
  3. Now you are quoting the Soton Echo as a source to show you are right?
  4. Jack Stephens is this guy: Dale Stephens is this guy: Jordan Turnbull is this guy: Opinions on Jack Stephens and Jordan Turnbull?
  5. See above post to correct Colin. From your FM Researcher perspective how do the two rate?
  6. The names on yours are the wrong way round. Jack is the one with the slightly fatter Lee Trundle-esque face and Dale Stephens is the bottom of the two, although didn't realise he was at Plymouth at any point (must have been on loan). Hopefully for their sake not at the same time Jack was there, would have confused everyone.
  7. This is Dale Stephens: He was a tidy enough midfield player, but hasn't done much at Charlton. Anyway, back to the point....thoughts on Turnbull and Stephens?
  8. Do you think Jack or Jordan will make the grade?
  9. Just wondered how these guys are perceived as having developed. Stephens had played some first team football for Plymouth before joining us, whilst both he and Turnbull played for England U19s last year and no longer feature. Just wondering if anyone has watched them a lot and what the chances are of either making the step up to first team football? Stephens has been shunted around from intially being a RB, then to CB, then to holding midfield and then back to centre back again. It seems both are highly rated and were on the pre season tour, yet nearly all the U21 games highlights show poor goals being given away, often with individual errors. Would either or both be better served with a loan spell in L2 than playing in the docile U21s league? Jack Stephens Jordan Turnbull
  10. I support Saints, but I just watch England. Can't believe some people would rather England win than Saints at Old Trafford.
  11. There are better players around.
  12. Saints win any day of the week. England very much a second best and would quite enjoy watching Boruc ruin us!
  13. I'm just getting an advert for Selco?
  14. Lets hope AB credits the Chapel fans who abused him as a key influence in his form. I think at the next home game we should all applaud the Chapel as the water bottle incident obviously got him fired up. Hopefully the Chapel corner can goad Ramirez when he next warms up along there. Top fans.
  15. Ramirez main problem is that he is best in the no 10 role, not out wide, and with the signing of Osvaldo we have changed to playing with two strikers. You can't knock his form this season as he has barely played in the league, but scored in both cup games. And of course, whilst the team is playing well its not going to be easy to get in. Would be good to see him get a run of games before being written off.
  16. Whatever happens, I would back MP to make the right call.
  17. I think thats the best, most insightful interview I've read about Saints for a long, long, time.
  18. Interesting to hear MP say Ramirez "is fit". Also wants Shaw not to join up with the U21s.
  19. Nice captains performance from AL.

    Top Four

    No. But top 8 is.
  21. He did ok but there is still so much inconsistency. Davis got booked for a tame foul on halfway yet Wanyama nothing for sliding in out of control and clattering someone.
  22. You will never outwit Alex Crook. He correctly predicted in April that Seaborne, Dickson, Richardson, Butterfield, Mayuka, Hammond, Sharp and Chaplow would all leave and is still crowing about it today. Proper journalist this guy. Fair play to him for putting his neck on the line.
  23. Have you played as Saints much? How are they on there?
  24. 3 points indifferent 4 points good 6 points excellent
  25. No real debate around team selection, no known injuries, team in good(ish) form and expected to win. That's why. Just the same with the Post Match threads, always far more pages if we have lost than won. Generally the forum tends towards the negative and prefers to criticise than praise.
