So the OS statement was pretty accurate, seems the Scunny head honcho was making a last ditch attempot to keep his man, I dont blame him.
-
I agree the photography policy is somewhat bizarre and has led to some humour, hardly laughing stock material tough.
-
What a ridiculous post, we are not a laughing stock, only in the minds of some of our own fans, my Scunny supporting colleague certainly isn't laughing at us and the vast majority of the country are oblivious to our managerial situation. Also if we were then we would not have had in excess of 30 applicants, so remind me why can't you wear Saints colours in public?
-
hardly a rumour more fantasy
-
Applicants do not equal interviews, I doubt they will interview or have interviewed more than 6 candidates, easily achievable over a couple of days. Your depression is partly a result of the current lack of hard facts but it seems also due to your own preference to always add negativity to unfounded rumours; aka your own interpretation of the widely reported high volume of interest in the post turned into ‘Maybe closer to the truth is that they had only three applicants’.

Matching a manager to a club is and art not a science, good previous performance may provide a degree of comfort but guarantees nothing. As we saw with WGS and much earlier Lawrie Mac the 2 best managerial appointments at SFC in my time have not initially had the WOW factor. I’m sure the Bristol Shi8y fans thought Steve Copple had a bit of wow for them, and look how that turned out. I sometimes wonder if the only reason some want a big name is about short term national or indeed international attention and some weird bragging position.

Far more to Adkins than being an ex physio. His CV shows he is real football man, and has made his name by delivering in difficult circumstances.

Completely agree with your first 8 words, that’s why I do not watch it and have no opinion on any particular character. You obviously torture yourself by watching it. Whilst I detest the programme I understand that several million licence payers do enjoy it and I am sure they do not believe it is a waste of money. Each to his own, use the off button or choose one of the other channels you have access to.

Another tiny piece of toss.

Very well said.

We are neither cursed nor Sh@te. But we can certainly do a lot better.

I am keeping myself sane by believing that the that the ML takeover was the start and that it would not all be fixed in a season. All managers are a gamble, AP was a good choice at the time and certainly did well last season, however as has been pointed out he presided over a shambles of a pre season. I am willing to accept this short term pain for the long term gain. Putting SFC back together after the double relegation, administration and the managerial and chairman revolving door was never going to be easy.

Both goals down to Fonte he has been sh**te
-
There is no spirit, they pass it around but don't know what to do with it, Fonte is having a mare

The more I find out about Adkins the more I like the idea of him coming to Saints. He is obviously a very intelligent guy who understands people and how to get the beat out of them. He has served a real apprenticeship in football, as a player, back room boy and manager and should have his feet on the ground and his mind focused on success. From knowing little about him at the start of this week I would now be delighted if he came to us.
-
Holloways also in a bit of a dilemma about moving from the Bath area to 'up north' so SMS and Staplewood would be far handier for him, OK not a good enough motive but we could do a lot worse
-
Got it one, thats football and us poor supporters are just that supporters.
-
Sadly I cant see Holloway coming our way, would love it if he did as he understands the lower leagues and has a deep knowledge of the game and is not up himself.

I definitely do not believe a degree is all that matters, as I said above I do not have one, I designed and set up my company's apprenticeship scheme because I believe there is to much emphasis on degrees. However I do not believe that attaining a degree turns you into some sort of privileged pampered wastrel. I do agree with you that there is a problem with the some degree courses that seem to have proliferated for no reason other than to hit the ridiculous 50% target. I don't know why you think your salary supports your credibility in this debate, as we have seen with the bankers financial reward does not confer wisdom.
-
I dont know what industry you work in but either it or you are living far in the past. 20 years in the SM service taught me all I need to know about banter, it also taught me about respect, you obviously have none for our younger generation. I hope you don't need them to help you pee when you get past helping yourself, although I bet it would fuel some good banter.

We don't have a stance theres no need the vast majority of the young today are not arrogant, unlike some older people I know.
-
As an old style secondary modern boy (no degree) who now works as a Senior Manger in a high tech company (1200 employees) with 80% of the staff having a degree I have no experience of the scenario you paint. I have employed, mentored and coached graduates for the last 20 years and none of them have ever displayed such arrogance, my latest is first class from Cambridge , if they did they would be out the door.

What a weird post, I am not sure I understand it; however it comes across as bitter and twisted. Are your views based on personal experience or plain old fashioned ignorance of the world and people with whom you have no contact.
