thats the joys of a split boardroom, Wildes offer of money in originally was a intrest free(or there abouts) long term loan that was publicised around AGM time if i remember, just goes to show what happens when you take it at face value. if we would have had 1 of the 3 amigo's in charge and the other two out of the picture we would have survived longer, crouch was easily the best choice for this and i'd welcome him back at the top in an instant, I've got complete faith in him being able to run a company and surround himself by a footballing team who wont syphon too much away but we're going to have to put up with who the administrator gives us to now (if we do get someone!)
-
was the multiball system in use?
-
yeah i've heard exactly the same too from people who know him, im not sure if we'll get compo for this one either

gah! this threads gone from wondering why we get rid of talent that later blooms into knocking our own talent before they've had a chance to bloom!! Taxi to NavyRed'Ville please!! Lancashire, Thompson /Paterson /McLaggon - Mills/White - Schneiderlin - Gasmi - Smith - . Gobern - all of these guys with the exception of smith have had less than a season of professional football!! keep them all, maybe aged 21/22 and a lot more games take another look, but with the exception of morgan they're all on peanuts and will improve if handled correctly, look at DMG (when not played off the shoulder) and Lloyd James who is also playing out of position, they are going to hopefully make up an essential part of our squad in the future and they cost a lot less than it would take to buy in like for like (much, well perhaps notts county might argue with that )

not if i have my way SSE and the other companies within only sponser grass roots football + other sports and given the fact that they employ half of pompey + gosport, sponsership probably wouldnt be popular amongst the staff (although i would ****ing love it)
-
****ing hell, your such a moanin wum it's unbelievable! seriously, do something else.

thats what i remember from media snippets soon after and around the AGM was that the wagebill + transfer costs were done through the cronies and Crouch protested but got shouted down. I blame the FC more than rupes + crouch for authorising the spanking of surpless + overdraft as the moment we lost against Derby we've been on borrowed time. I can understand LC not wanting to put much more money in, he's had to cut back on his other businesses, he's lost the money he put in as shares and in these tight times he's probably having to be very very careful as he has a lot of other responsabilities. It would be nice for a knight in shining armour to appear and make everything better again, but it's very unlikely to happen.

well that explains a small part of the gardening leave for 1 of our coachs, he wasnt paid. It also shows the boom or bust mentality when he left in2006 that cost us big, i can understand him being slightly annoyed at that, wouldnt you? very balenced article, though, shows him in both lights a pompus twit who annoys far too many people and a careful scrough with the coffers who was afraid to kick on after the FAcup final.
-
i work in a pompey office and im used to having the **** ripped out of me at every oppertunity, however the guys who are old enough to remember the numerous bad times they went through gueniunly wish that the club survives, one of them even said it'd be pompeys kind of luck that we get some Arab oil billionaire end up owning us! the Johnny come latelys however are still c.ocks, but as i say, support through the **** times to make the good times taste that little bit sweeter.

I'll echo what you said, as long as he's calling the shots and doestn rely on future incarnations of hoo's + delieu, have a split boardroom and the agenda that go with that, i believe the guys decent enough to get a good sound business foundation going and the values to bring the club back to the community.

I dont see the point in getting rid of anyone under 21-22 to be honest, they'll be on peanuts and unless the position they play in is overloaded with players they'll be needed. We need to remember that some of the players we started at the start of the season at at a max of 30games into a professional career, you cant write the likes of white, paterson, olly, gobern, ilmudia, mclaggon etc off because they're only 10 games max in!! i hope Ryan Smith, turns out to be a good player, but he needs to be nurtured and not tortured, we play a role in that too.
-
not really surprised fabio didnt believe harry or spurs though, not the first time a prem club has whinged and *****ed when an injury prone player has been called up. Ledley should have announced himself retired from international duty if he knew his situation was that bad.
-
he's playing well for them, he's getting games under his belt which is always good and he's not playing in the crap reserve league we play in, good on the lad i say, I hope he returns a better player and breaks into the team, i think he's got a future. Ribbo

didnt poke get injured and the loan was cancelled, or was that last season? and forcast was bought in because everyone thought kelv was off close to the transfer window but instead he didnt turn his phone on and the window closed (that was the rumour on here at the time). If kelvin had of gone and no replacement sourced I would have been even more depressed to have just Bart + Poke around.

2006 - £1.1m 2007 - £350k 2008 - £300k as per Chapels post further up and the evidence given in this thread, you can see the cost breakdown quite easily, the biggest money was spent when we were trying to push for promotion, further costs were occured trying to cut back when that bid failed and we overspent. Ruperts dutch guard dog having contacts at other clubs and in the game is nothing knew in the world of football, Lawrie had contacts, his son was/is an agent it's very advantagous for aquiring playing staff and sorting mutually beneficial deals. whats key to all this is that the financial aspect is controlled and the money stays within the football industry which is pretty hard these days!
-
if you chart the ups and downs of saints over those last 3 seasons, you can see how they were racked up, the cost cutting, the renegotiation of contracts, releasing players, buying a whole new team in, selling a couple of lorry load worth of players etc, alll the loans. It all adds up, stability is the key, but stability is something thats not been around our club in a while and wont be either for the forseeable (but lets not go down that road )
-
it's a good club for him to be at as well, they're on the up anythings better than our reserve league

ok right, i'll bite with my last post of the night. http://www.football-league.co.uk/staticFiles/5c/32/0,,10794~143964,00.pdf cut from the official report. - 1st jul 2008 - 31 dec 2008 new registrations -17 updated contract - 4 cancelled contract 3 loans - 3 total transactions - 27 total transactionstotal amount to agents - 252,674 thats under £10,000 for each transaction if you just divvie it up, obviously some more, some less AND it's down on the amount committed 1 jul -> 31 dec '07 (312,950). Ribbo (ps, no im not a lowe luvvie)

having been sat here with an empty reply screen for a while tells me how i've come to feel about this forum and the 2-3 before it (i've lost count), the sense of community has almost gone, people get hounded and labelled by the same few spouting the same old stuff, I've seen many thread winning posts ignored and bookended because of the same old crap derailing an otherwise content rich and worthwhile subject. still.. it's better than 606
-
the only other alternative is him playing reserve team football against the mighty lewes reserves, bit of a no brainer really.
-
any truth in the rumour that once struck the french surfaced and surrendered?

hitler was under-rated imo nice to see this thread not degenerating in anyway at all lol, however.my thoughts go out to the young children involved in this debacle.
