Sunderland 0 Saints 4 - Post Match Humble Pie
Convict Colony replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
The winner today was our formation change, please don't go back to 4-3-3 for a bit. Davis and Romeu holding. JWP on the right to cross balls in, Tadic in the centre pulling the strings and Redders on the left creating space for ryan to move into. Manolo being an Italian assasin -
Manolo is awesome.

****ing me and Supersaint told ya #ziyechwatch https://serve.fans/r/ef28944bfc

Must of missed those JWP playing like Boufal and Mane games
-
David Wagner who is doing an excellent job, motivated, great tactical skillset. It will get up the nose of all those who say "give it to an englishman"

Looks like he can play everywhere hahaha http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10568669/how-would-former-juventus-defender-martin-caceres-fit-in-at-chelsea

Watching this video I had to double check he was a defender, some great finishing If he played for Juventus in defence then he is good enough for us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3WdWf_Vnnk

Probably tried to play football from the back instead of lumping it

What !!

RAWK making me feel better: "So gutted right now, the family want to go to tgi's, whilst I just want to be alone with a takeaway and as much alcohol as possible."
-
Dave Watson seems to be getting off lightly. Forster has got worse at shot stopping, claiming crosses every single season since he has been with us. His record is due to what was in front of him with the exceptional game every season.
-
Hassan in next game please and I don't mean Kachloul
-
Sounds like JWP and Davis The point I was making was Clasie is more of a solid defender than the other 2, I agree he is not the answer but he can at least help Romeu defend more. JWP dead balls have gone to sh*t recently as well, being overhit and just bang average has he been watching rugby:lol:. There will be a lot of angst on here tonight and I am a born optimist but I think Puel's stubbornness to his system is leading to our downfall over the last 1.5 months which is exacerbated by injuries. There is a reason Boufal, Virgil, Oriel, Gabba (based on today's showing) look so much better than their peer group, its because they are at a level above the rest on an individual level. The previously seasons systems played to our group strength's and mitigated our weaknesses, i believe it made everyone look at a level they were probably individually not (that's good coaching and why quite a few have struggled since leaving us). Puel's system current does not do this, seems to have little flexibility and is currently like our midfield it in that it justs exists but doesn't do much for us. We are relying on individual skill (why Boufal looks awesome) over an effective team system to win games. System has to change. Edit: Shout out to Marco Silva selling 2 key players, gettting some guys in and playing against a load of big teams in his first few matches and doing very very well.

Who in the under 23's who is bigger than a smurf can come in and play with Pierre in the shuttling midfield roles. JWP/Davis aren't good defenders and not creators and are not goal scorers so what are they ? Clasie can at least defend, is there a free transfer out there than can come in a do a job.
-
Hassan might be match fit for sunderland to replace forster. Just think Davis and JWP arent good defenders and arent good attackers. They are not good at 1 and **** at the other, they are average at both
-
Just realised gabba reminds me of either catweasel or mickey pierce from Only Fools.
-
J rod is being shown up by Boufal and Gabba. His first touch has been long esq today
-
We may now have the people - Manolo and Sofianne to actually make the formation work a lot better now. 2 talented players, both can score from long range but can also play in others and can create movement up front with Jayrod as they interchange across the line. Key is probably for our 2 shuttlers Davis & WP to do the transitions a lot quicker to not enable west ham to reset
-
Really want us to try and play a 4 - Cedric/Yoshida/Stephens or Gardos/ Bertrand 2 - Oriel/Clasie 3 - Manola/Redmond/Boufal 1 - Jayrod or Long Protects the defence and most of the forwards track back
-
Nah get Trezeguet a Juve legend who is french
-
Would like this formation given the sort of reviews we were getting in sept playing the diamond - https://www.umaxit.com/index.php/columns/finally-claude-puels-diamond-is-extracting-the-best-from-southamptons-players/comment-page-1 Fraser Cedric Stephens Yoshida Bertrand Oriel Pierre / Davis or JWP Boufal Manolo/JayRod or Redmond or Long
-
Thanks for the reminder, needed to replace Rondon so Manolo goes in
