The standard of the Championship isn't great, and I can't imagine it'll improve immensely next season. They'll most likely stay up with the squad they've got, and if they're stupid enough to throw £800,000 on Matt Tubs in the third tier, they will probably chuck a million or more at someone else. It did occur to me, the whole glass houses thing, but really we were always better off to spend in League One than Bournemouth are, in all aspects. Never mind. Maybe we can shake off the charity case thing once and for all...

Exactly. Good manager when he has a good budget. Not exactly rocket science.
-
At QPR he spent like there was no tomorrow and had ample time to turn it around. He won't escape the media spotlight this time. It's a far cry from when he spent sod all and got rid of Beattie for £6m and brought in the likes of Davenport and Bernard.

Vergard Forren; do the club need to explain to the fans
Crazy Diamond replied to Miltonroader07's topic in The Saints
Do they have to then explain why every player that has had to wait for his debut has done so? -
He was given a chance. Today. Patience is the name of the game. Goes for Forren as well.

They're as bad as the blue few. No transparency with the money, which is being spent at a rate of knots in great amounts for short-term gains. They'll never be my second team, bucket rattlers. Where's Crab Lungs?
-
I didn't say that.
-
'Solid signing' - really? In this alternative universe are QPR going for the title?
-
I do feel sorry though... For the poor clubs in League Two that now have to associate themselves with that bunch of c*nts.

If you could get one play in now who would it be? Realistic options
Crazy Diamond replied to Ally Biggs's topic in The Saints
Shaw needs a top left-back to learn from, and Danny Fox isn't it. I don't want to be one of his boo boys but certainly I've been disappointed by him this season. Shaw also can't play every game of the season at his age as he'll burn out and it can be damaging long term. As for options for that position, I've no idea who to suggest. -
This target would have been achieved quite some time ago under Hoddle. They've been criticised for years for their style of play and they've changed it. They used to play rough football, now they play losing football. I like it.

That publication is essentially propaganda isn't it? Jesus wept...
-
It's a good result for football if it means Stoke and Wigan are given more of a challenge to stay up.
-
Well our game at Sunderland will be an interesting one, that's for sure. As for Di Canio being a good addition to the league, I wouldn't be happy if he celebrated like that in our faces.

QPR v Stoke next week, big game, then Reading v QPR on the 28th.
-
Does this also mean that Reading and QPR are now within touching distance of relegation?
-
Anyone seeing them later this year? Got my tickets the other day for the O2, looking forward to it, even if it's without Bill Ward and won't be a performance like they used to give.

Quinn should never have been picked to co-commentate on this.
-
'We will never be defeated' Apart from when they play Brentford then, clearly.

SAINTS 1-1 West Ham // Post-Match Reaction
Crazy Diamond replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Amazingly, for a game that was basically played on a pitch made of water, he didn't slip up - something he always seems to do. -

I agree, Ramirez wasted his set pieces, but to be so scathing as the people around me were was a bit much. As for not having an impact, a goal is impactful on a game, I would think... I also agree that he's not lived up to his price tag, but it's hardly his fault that we paid a lot of money for him. He's how old? 21? Give him time. -

Fair play to Gaston Ramirez I must say, especially after I heard more than once today that he 'wasn't good enough' 'doesn't have a big enough impact on the game' and 'needs to be substituted immediately.' Yes lads, those comments seem rather foolish don't they?
