According to the rules laid down by Portsmouth fans, we are now officially the best team in the world.
-
Yep. Not one I'll forget in a hurry. Danny Higginbotham was on form though, an own goal...
-
No songs to the tune of 'we do what we want'. That ****ing tune needs to be outlawed.
-
Completely forgot about that 6 - 0 win at Wolves, seems so long ago now.
-
He'll probably be remembered for three things: 1 - The howlers against Blackpool last season 2 - The reserve game against West Ham, his first appearance of sorts in England 3 - Getting injured at Newcastle where Dexter Blackstock had to go in goal
-
He's just signed for Notts County. http://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10426~2812876,00.html Says he's not given up hopes of international recognition. Think he really ought to lower his expectations, unfortunately. Got me wondering though, was he really all that promising, or was he another mistake by Burley?
-
Remember him? The one who said our Billy was a disgrace for getting Taylor sent off. Yes, the Taylor who had both hands round his throat. Well, he's been put in his place by Everton's head of press after he started some bullsh*t rumour about Moyes. Fantastic stuff by Mr. Tyrrell there. Can't stand this tw*t 'Moose', nothing but a moron. He also reckons Jos will get done week in, week out in the Prem. That's the same Jos that effectively denied his beloved West Ham automatic promotion with two goals against them...

Can't argue with any of that really, other than the fact that very few managers 'spot' players these days. It's all done via scouting teams - Spurs have one of the best scouts going in Ian Broomfield, and he pretty much decides who they bring in. Sandro was solely down to him, Redknapp even admitted it at the time. Here's something for you to laugh at - when that idiot Frenchman Damien Comolli took over as 'Director of Football' at Spurs with Ramos as manager, he sacked Graham Carr from his position as scout. The same Graham Carr who has just signed an eight year deal at Newcastle, having signed them players like Cisse, Tiote and Cabaye.

Whatever happened to that Dutch keeper we were linked with?

Yeah I always go on an American tour if my club can afford it. -
Whoever it is, I'm willing to say the opening fixture won't be a Saturday 3pm kick-off.
-
Let's not forget the outstanding training facilities, which are getting better as we speak. Players always mention it when they sign - they must be willing to accept less money for the vision and facilities.

Interesting. I spent a lot of time going over AFC Wimbledon's squad, adjusting bits here and there before submitting the finished article for FM08. AVB said he used it a lot. -

Euro 2012 is highlighting just how good some of the research for the game can be. Dzagoev, Yarmolenko and Rakitic are three I'd highlight - all three are always snapped up by the big boys in the game, and at the tournament this summer they've been very good, especially Dzagoev. In FM11, Sigurdsson ended up playing for Liverpool and being one of the best players in the league. I can remember thinking "Yeah, right...". Quality control has certainly improved. I can recall a time where no matter how good my teams were, no matter how good the tactics, Eduardo would end up beating me single handedly when I played Arsenal. In reality? He really wasn't as good as the game would have you believe, injury or not. Oh and what ever happened to Dagoberto? Legend on FM07, never even heard of him in real life. I can also remember a time with Jan Poortvliet was one of the best managers in the game after two seasons and would end up winning the Premier League. Explain that one, oh blessed researcher... -
Hell of a lot? It has the potential to ruin them. Source of mine told me that one of the main reasons Warnock got the sack was because they were **** scared of relegation, seeing as the gate receipts are so low due to Loftus Road's capacity that they come nowhere even close to covering their Premier League player's wages. If they'd have gone down, they would have been monumentally screwed.

Southampton Player Trivia: Anyone know any pointless facts?

Only another season to go hamster me old mucker, we'll be rid of him soon. Incidentally, 'Finders Keepers' was easy. It was either in the kitchen cupboard or the bath. -

I cannot believe this thread. I actually can't. -
Martin Lipton, Daily Mail Chief Football Reporter: "Twitter and other social media full of rumours of Harry Redknapp's departure from Tottenham. My understanding is that it is not the case. But clear there are issues between Redknapp and chairman Daniel Levy, who blames the manager for club not finishing third in PL last season and is in no mood to offer a new contract even though only 12 months to run on current deal. Uneasy truce at the moment but clear that this is on a knife-edge at the moment. Levy not a man to budge, as a rule."

And yet West Ham want him plus Krasic http://www.football-italia.net/19893/west-ham-manager-meets-juventus "Sam Allardyce was spotted meeting with Juventus directors today, suggesting West Ham want to sign Eljero Elia and Milos Krasic. The Hammers manager was caught on camera by Sky Sport Italia today shaking hands and discussing matters with Juve director Fabio Paratici. It is reported they discussed the future of want-away wingers Krasic and Elia, who struggled to get playing time in the Scudetto-winning campaign. Krasic is a Serbian international who had a strong start to his Serie A career before injuries and a change in tactics took their toll. Elia is a 25-year-old Dutch international who was signed last summer from Hamburger SV. Despite putting pen to paper on a four-year contract, he handed in a transfer request this week due to lack of playing time." -

Myth, he actually had two arses. -
Let's face it, for us to win anything, we have to block out the sun, it's that much of a problem apparently.
