Nigel Adkins is an interesting one. Has done a brilliant job at Scunny.

would have thought Kitson could get a better club..........................

Southampton 1 - 1 Leyton Orient - Post match reaction

of our front 6, Barnard was good, Puncheon decent, Lallana and Lambert unfit, and the two CMs ..............well lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if Puncheon plays there some more. -
no,I was aware of the in joke thing. Always up for an argument though !! Anyway, smith and nugent are both rubbish. As long as they are wearing silly blue shirts at least !!

So are you saying that they are not a decent championship strike force?
-
AND, for example, we came out of administration , and started our L1 campaign with one teenage striker. Poopey came out of a FAR worse situation with a strike force of Nugent and Smith, a decent Championship strike force .(and apparently refusing to listen to offers for them that would help them fulfill the terms of the CVA). No wonder Saints/ Cardiff/ Swindon fans are bitter.

Th well off will always make sure their kids are at the "best" schools, whether its by fee paying or postcode. The real culprits in a system that perpetuates social inequality are the universites, who are hppy to take the quick easy way to select students, ( A grades and a beautifully crafted personal statement) rather than testing and interviewing to find out a persons real capabilities.

will be interesting to see if our so called high tax rates for the rich put this chap off coming here. no doubt much of his cash will be in poopey style image rights. Anybody who pays a big ticket price at citeh to help fund this nonsense need their head examining.

Quite. Bristol City have a TOTAL revenue of around £12m PA.

All good points. But the monarchy are only the tip of the iceberg, a pin that holds everything together at the top. Beyond what you suggest we would need real land and financial reform. High land and property prices need dealing with, so that people aren't in hock with gigantic morgages for tiny houses on all too modest wages. And the emphasis on tax needs to move towards property,(especially big inherited money) high incomes, and and luxury spending.

sad to say, but I'm sure you are right. Thinking might go: pensions (state pension and occupational) can be taken apart because THe bottom 50 % have only the state pension and thus no choices or influence. of the next 40 % at least half (the public sector and the better paid in the private sector)will have a pension that provides something that is liveable, if not great. Of the others in the top 40 % a certain number will inhereit/get lucky /downsize/or just have to lump it. And the top 10% are sitting pretty, as ever. incidentally, it would be really interesting to see some real analysis on what will really happen if working age pushes up towards 70. unless there is a real labour shortage, the inescapable conclusion is that the total labour pool will grow, keeping down wages, and that youngsters will spend more and more time and (borrowed) money chasing ever higher paper qualifications to get into "graduate" jobs. Time to stand and fight.

had a look back at past tables. 88 has got automatic promotion every years recently.

Some public sector pensions are overly generous, but many are not.(teachers get 1/80th for each year worked. New entrants get this at 65, existing at 60. Contibutions are 6 % of salary) maybe maintaining reasonable public sector pensions will incentivise private sector firms to keep or start up decent schemes to help recruit the best staff. Would be nice.

Whether 13000 is a success depends on how you look at it. An increase is good. if the figure includes lots of very cheap lids tix its less good revenue wise, though great for building the fan base. And it could have been much higher ...........................

I wonder how many "free" (or very cheap) kids tickets this includes ?

i would assume that getting rid of the football creditors rule would be good for poopey tho.......... lots of parachute money to play with .

can someone please remind me which part of a trasfer embargo allows them to bring in the stoke defender?

and we went into admin because we couldn't service a £4m overdraft and stadium costs of a couple of mill PA. You are , unless a nice owner is found, in a world where a few million is the difference between survival and.............

maybe they reckon that its only cover that is needed now, so waiting for the loan market nearer to August?

but road access, which is absolutely critical, would probably have been worse. The poarking plans were for 7000 spaces and 2 exits. It would have taken forever to get out of the car parks. This was a key point for the protesters, and one which was never properly addressed. In city centre sites like the Dell and SMS you have lots of alternative routes....i leave after the final whistle, and with current attendances I am at home, which is about 35 mins from the airport Junction, by 6.00 PM.
