  1. Quite right Hamilton Saint. In fact, I would go so far as to say that ALL popular music of the 20th (& 21st) century is of "Afro-American" descent except maybe country & western. I find it quite amusing that anyone could be ignorant enough to delineate their dislike of specific genres of music along racial boundaries. As for Dune's dance music videos........ It is a fact that the modern dance music scene began in American clubs such as the Warehouse in Chicago and the Paradise Garage in New York. These clubs were frequented by young black men, many of whom were gay. Many of the DJs who played at these clubs such as Larry Levan were also black and gay. (I also find it ironic that one of the forum's most openly 'right-wing' posters should proclaim his love of the Levellers; a band that espoused anything but 'right-wing' values and who took their name from a political group that could almost be seen as socialist anarchists!)
  2. Things weren't right under AP. Pre-season was a disaster and key players weren't fit. Whether the players were signed by AP or not, they are certainly beginning to perform for NA, and as Turkish rightly said, the quality of football is excellent. I would rather be watching the style of football we have witnessed at the last two home games than AP's 'style'.
  3. Quite right. I was handed one at the same game. And I heard it being sung, and I'm sure it was sung at Charlton too.
  4. I love these threads. The songs are always so comically bad and are never adopted. The only reason the 'Southampton's Goal Machine' song caught on was because people took the trouble to print the lyrics out on song sheets and distribute them at away games. Maybe if you want your song to catch on, that's what you have to do. Putting it up here is a waste of time as everyone knows only 2% of forum users have ever been to see Saints play. The rest are all sectioned under the mental health act and are not allowed out of their secure units without an order signed by the Home Secretary.
  5. This. Who's the new avatar CEC?
  6. FFS stop moaning Turkish / SRS / DBP. Would you prefer it if these fans stayed away?

  9. God bless you Mr Cortese Sir!
  10. To lose one or two mods could be considered careless........ to lose nearly all the mods........etc etc.
  11. Oh dear. This forum really is going to the dogs. Mods accusing other mods of lying....... whatever next? Why have so many mods suddenly quit 'for no apparent reason'? "Something is rotten in the state of Denmark".
  12. I wonder why Barnard kicked off. Perhaps someone called him ginger?
  13. FL & prem are 2 different animals.
  14. There's more to this than meets the eye. So who's got the balls to actually spell it out on the forum? FWIW I believe that anyone who puts themselves forward to be a mod should be prevented from becoming a mod. PS. Thanks to the old mods who IMHO did a grand job.

    Guly

I thought Guly looked good tonight. A good goal and he the hit the post. But also his movement on and off the ball was good. He got into some great positions and really attacked the box. It would have been interesting to see him start; but maybe he is just another 'impact' player?
  19. Your wardrobe choices have instilled me with confidence. PS. If we all miss the last train, we could share a taxi back to Smallsbury.
  20. I shouldn't wear your Saints shirt Phil...... 'word on the street' is that it is to blame for our current run of poor form. Go Arabic!

  22. I'm after some advice guys. I've not been to the Rosebowl before. I'm coming from Salisbury with a mate and his (very) young boy. Obviously we'd like a couple of drinks and would prefer not to drive so we want to take the train. How do we get from Southampton central station to the ground. Thanks in advance.
