Agreed. Alan Moore is without doubt one of the best writers this country has produced in the last 40 years but nobody has managed to do justice to his work when adapting it for the screen. I don't think Moore has been happy enough with any film adaptation to put his name on it. V for Vendetta was an OK film in it's own right but didn't come up to scratch. From Hell is an astounding book; deeper and darker than a coal mine..... the film was....OK. The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen was a superb premise for a series of novels........ the film with Sean Connery was woeful.

Perhaps I should have been more specific for the pedants. When I said drum, I of course meant any kind of percussive instrument: such as two pieces of wood, or two stones etc..... I think it highly likely that our ancestors were discovering and enjoying rhythms (possibly even, as a means of communication) before they were using 'verbal constructs'.
