  1. Play a strong team and go for the win. Luton will be up for it,they broke our hearts on a couple of cup occasions back in the day. I want to see us be professional and beat them.Keep winning habits.COYR
  2. Not getting so stressed about football, only the things I should get stressed about. It does make for happy home life too. Funny seeing the sad blue faces at work as well! My kids aren't getting stick at school either from skates or glory grabbers. The pride has come back and I'm loving watching and talking Saints again. The walk back over the bridge seems shorter too!
  3. Thanks for clearing that up,it was bad reporting on Talksport (as usual).
  4. Nice one,I'm more concerned that Watford have been given a £1million league loan to help them out!
  5. Yeah I saw Stuart Gray before the match. Did Northampton sack him as a coach? I too thought he may be scouting for them ahead of next week,if so,he must be short on work to help out the team that just sacked him.
  6. thought the ref was okay today. He seemed to take into account the wet conditions when players dived in.Was a definite penalty when James got done by the winger and there other penalty shout was rightly turned down. He ****ed up on that foul though, that was bizarre.
  7. Intelligent post as usual Mike. I think the Brighton game shocked us all, couldn't have seen that coming. So as for today, usually a good game v Norwich,my money will be on 2-1 Saints. What would be lovely is to listen to a Saints radio build up on the way in. I miss that!
  8. Maybe that will settle the 4-4-2 argument.Anyone know what Dave Merrington's assessment was after the match? Gus Poyet said they had a plan in place and it looked that way when they were carving us open in the 1st half.We did miss some good chances in the 2nd though.
  9. Orient 1-1 1978 promotion game. Great start!
  10. I watched it in the packed living room of our house in Portsmouth. Hard to believe but most of the kids at my school wanted us to win, but a few days before had wanted to string me up after we won at Nottarf Krap. I ran down my street with my yellow scarf afterwards and was at the civic centre on the Sunday with my family. Oh to have been at Wembley that day! The League Cup final 79 was to be my first final.
  11. Apart from Huddersfield, the Northern group looked easy for Leeds. Southern contains all the stronger teams,a bit like the T20 cricket group Hampshire always get stuck in. Hereford is my choice for the next round.
  12. Minto made the "Lallana wil be attracting the attention of big clubs" comment. That wound me up for some reason! Though Darke was fair to us,he felt that we can push for playoffs.Even Minto agreed after previously saying mid table would be an achievement.
  13. Good riddance to the non footballing leech. Fantastic when Luton won that and booed him. Summed up the prat when he blanked Nick Owen at the JPT final and sat with the Scunnie chairman.
  14. Painfully slow getting away from the ground, but who cares when you win. Lovely finishes on the goals, just blew them away,a joy to watch. We took our foot off the gas (boom boom) last ten minutes but I never felt nervous. Disgraceful hack at Adam when he was holding the ball in the corner near the end. Poor ground, good turnout from us bring on round 2. REVENGE was sweet!
  15. Dry side row E as well. My garden shed has a door and a window as well!!
  16. Got the stick man on my right arm a few years back. Had it done by a Goth bird with tattooed breasts!! I love my tattoo but never got the urge to have more done.
  17. A good honest professional who always gave 100%. I remember him being sat with us fans up at Sheffield Wednesday once when he was out of the team.Saints fans will rally round to help any way they can. I'm sure Fulham would want to help out too. All the best to Kevin,Mandy and their family.
  18. My dad took me up there even though it was a school night. I remember the noise under that tin roof and we were all down the one side. Next day at school I felt pretty bloody pleased with life! Also went to the 2-0 cup win there with my dad totally oblivious to any of the hooligan stuff that was going on.
  19. They got what they deserved, how they are third is beyond me. Damn that 10 point penalty! We were superb at times today.
  20. Having seen the extended bit on our BBC site,Im wishing the Ricky Lambert cross bar efforts could have been shown in the actual programme. He deserved a bigger audience for that.Proper centre forward. What a finish by Connolly too, would love to have been with our lot behind that goal.
  21. Will be even happier when Murty is fit again. As well as the midfield is playing, there will be injuries and suspensions and James looked comfortable there.
  22. Very good that sounds like him,ask him about his role in the Cas Pennant film,I'm sure he'd love to tell all...Man U really?
  23. Quite sad if this is true. I still buy it,read it with my Sunday morning cuppa and keep it for my Dad stuck down the wrong end of the M27. I remember buying different regional versions on the way home from away games. Will be sadly missed, must be many old folk who still rely on it.
  24. Well done John,I've been wondering about this very thing. Now is there anyone on the forum who was at those games?
  25. Remember Boyd responding to a caller bragging about his mirrored bedroom ceiling.Boyd said 'when youre next looking up and admiring yourself in bed, just remember the mirror is only held up there by a few small screws' then he hung up.
