  1. Lowe undoubtly oversaw a number of good things in the first half his chairmanship. If Lowe is a scapegoat but not responsible (given we are worse off now than when he took over 12 years ago - so a sustained period of time), can i ask what the criteria is, in your opinion, for Lowe to be considered to have failed? Would relegation this season be enough, or is he exempt because of the problems he inherited?
  2. For me Wilde did what i wanted him to. He took a bit of a gamble to get us up, and nearly managed it. It gave us and me one of our best seasons since 2003. I think we underachieved but you can't really blame Wilde for that. What went wrong, for me, was that once we'd gambled and made that outlay, we didn;t protect that outlay. That summer after the play off failure we should have sat down and mapped out where we had luxuary's and where we needed the odd good free. As i've often said on here, you don't need a lot of cash to do well in the CCC. With more than a core of a good squad we could have cut our cloth a bit but still been challenging, at least for the play offs. Wilde focussed on the football and the fans. For a season or so i forgot about the board room! Sadly his execs, it appears, did not work out. This is his fault. But then Lowe made more and bigger mistakes than this during his tenure. They happen. My problem with Lowe is that he doesn't appear to learn from them and his handling of the supporters is poor. My main reason for dis-liking Wilde is at his teaming up with Lowe to oust Crouch. This strikes me as purely personal and not in the interests of the football team. Lowe meanwhile continutes to make mistakes, which he compounds with his poor attitude. None of this is a class thing. This is why I and others are struggling with this season. Of course i don't want us to go down. You just feel that Lowe's powerhold will be stronger if we stay up. But then we face a number of years like this one being told how tight things are and Lowe's ropey policies being implemented. There is a feeling that whether it is administration or relegation, something needs to happen to remove Lowe. Will things get better then, who knows? I just reckon we should aim for better than now and i think there is someone better than Lowe to deliver that.
  3. I'm not too fond of Wotte but i'm sure if he keeps us i will be. Lowe has failed again though and must leave. Surely if we stopped up they'd be a little bit of cash floating around to get a RB and a CM. The difference between a good team and a poor team in this division is not that big. One of the reasons why the stupid youth only policy was so frustrating. Decent management and a well drilled, organsised side and you'll be mid-table easy. Boring as that is, a couple of seasons of that and hopefully the world will be a different place and we can afford to sign the extra quality we'd need to make that play off push. Trouble with Lowe staying is, IF we stay up, will he learn from his mistakes this season? He's not done so in the past...
  4. Umm. A point would be ok. Reckon we'll get beat at Ipo but half a chance against Brum i reckon (Got my ticket this morn so fingers crossed!) Need 4 points min from those three games really.
  5. 400 miles from Sheffield round trip. Only seem to manage 2/3 games a season in the last couple of seasons. Miss the routine a lot. But there are a massive amount of games round here. We've played every team in South Yorkshire this season! Chuck in Derby, Forest and seeing other family in Bristol, Reading and other CCC towns and i'm getting a dozen games under my belt without having to pay quite so much in petrol. Oh, we win away!

  7. Think that ended with a thumping 3-0 defeat.
  8. Thanks for the praise! You've read my comments, seen what you wanted to and replied to that. No, at no stage on this thread have i questioned Wotte's managerial record. I've questioned the teams record, but not Wotte. I have questioned his need to say what he said. All i hope is that we win tomorrow. And all i know is things aren't right at the club at the moment and that there is a good few people who care about this club trying to influence the change. Let's hope they do and when change comes it's positive.
  9. No. That's not what i said. What i said is he knows there is some supporter unrest. That creates more pressure. If that turns out a great performance, than if nothing else the march has helped focus minds even further and we've got 3 points, great. If we can't handle the pressure, why did Wotte open his mouth. What was he trying to achieve? People don;t live with their heads in the sand.
  10. Maybe it's all got a bit confused. Maybe it wouldn't have done if he'd ackowledged the fact that the season has been poor, actually tried to undertstand why the fans are unhappy, rather than dismissing a decent sized chuck of the fan base. Look, i don't want the bloke up on a string for his comments. I just think they are mis-guided and aviodable. The whole PR side is rubbish. As has been said elsewhere, if we were winning matches, no one would care, but seeing as we are not, it wouldn't do any harm to at least try and keep supporters happy.
  11. No. But when i've got some external pressure at work, rightly or wrongly, it makes me knuckle down and bust guts i didn;t realise i had. It might not happen at Staplewood, but they're clearly aware of it. No bad thing.
  12. Maybe not. But just the fact the last was being planned seemed to force the board into some sort of action to address the issue of JP. Maybe if the thought of this march get's Wotte to train them hard and properly so they might actually get three points for only the second time in three months, than yes, maybe you should go and join them.
  13. 'Some Kids'
  14. Manager slags off nearly 10% of tomorrow' supporters for marching against s**t form. Fans not happy. What from that is 'beyond belief'
  15. Naughty from Wotte. No need for this. Patronising at best, spiteful at worst. I've no problem with straight talking but this borders on lies. He needs to be careful. No home wins from the next two and he will firmly be in the fireing line.
  16. No. Wing, yes. Up front, no. Not unless we finally sign that brut of a forward we are crying out for.
  17. I just worry based on history. Show me a club that has entered administraion (since the 10 point penalty rule was introduced) and is now better off than it was then. What evidence have we got that we would fare any different to them? Plus, in the current climate, will someone buy the club? What if that person is Lowe and he owns more of the club than now? I think people that see Administration as the bottoming out of the problems and the end of an era are mis-guided. We should be focusing how we could get quick fixes before admin. Roll our sleeves up, get marching, get Lowe out, get a decent manager in and get 20k crowds at St Mary's. They would all help avoid admin.
  18. I probably can't. Does that mean we can't show imagination, certainly given our current predictament? I just think this is a really low cost, easy win thing.
  19. David James
  20. God. That Tiss joke was no different to me saying I like going to America cos I don’t feel as fat. If I said that would I be racist or just having some fun at a harmless stereotype? Matt's was no different. David James column makes it sound like he was praising Hitler. I think I may just go and add David James' name to the hated names thread. The pretentious skate c**t.
  21. It does look good. But i'll repeat my point from the other thread; Can we count Bridge, Bale and Walcott as they weren't released or ask to go because they weren't playing. They were established first teamers who were sold for cash. If you take them out, because the decision was out the clubs hands, all of a sudden that team doesn't look as good.
  22. And i don;t think you can include Bale, Bridge and Walcott on the basis that we didn't release them. As you say silly thread. Do Ipswich fans bemoan their misfortune that Kelvin Davies is now a Saint?
  23. Doesn't mean we have to. What is the point of the clubs website? Is it to sell a product or a communication line to supporters? Well, a football club website is not a business trying to win customers to match days it is there to attract traffic to increase advertising revenue. So why does it persist with lies? Would the number of people who attend matches or view the website (and affect advertising) really go down if there was the odd self depreciating comment about the club? I doubt it. I'd even suggest it would increase traffic and revenue. A little honesty wouldn't go amiss.
  24. When we lost at Rotherham i emailed to correct them that this was the fourth year on the trot we've been knocked out the League Cup by a league 2 team, not the third as they said on the website. They didn't reply, nor correct it.
  25. Fingers crossed he's a bit quicker realising we've still not got an actual Right Back or a lump of a CF. If he can just do that, and ensure there is a bit of a width, we might be a contender for a point on Saturday!
