  1. With an assett like that and only a £4-£6 mil overdraft surely there is no way we'd be forced into admin (if we don't owe the tax man) Even if that is only a speculative figure and of course available credit in the short term is hard to get, i still can't believe with that we'd be taken down, even if we went down.
  2. Quite right. I've asked the question on here many times and never got a decent response. Since the -10 points law came in, how many of the teams that entered Admin are better off now, then before (in terms of league position). Answer - none. (Leeds, Bradford, Rotherham, Bournemouth...) IF it meant for sure Lowe et al were gone for good, ace. Somehow i doubt taking admin and the ten point drop this season would mean we would start next season with the clean slate people think we would.
  3. This debate is a bit silly. Nichol did well and things were a lot better then, of course. But it was felt they should have been better. And there is nothing wrong with having that attitude. The mistake was the board's attitude was correct, but they didn't back this up with a decent replacement. In fact they didn't even get a half way good replacement. They got a replacement on the cheap not for the first time!
  4. I'm no fan of Kelvin at all. But he has been excellent this season. And of all the criticsms, you can't say he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve. Maybe being given the captains armband, he's putting himself under more pressure to do well for the whole team and this is just affecting him a little bit?
  5. If they make people renew before we know what division we are in i don;t think my mum and dad will renew. They've ooh'ed and ahh'ed the last few seasons, knowing they can turn up on the day and get one and then not have to worry about going to the likes of S****horpe. If we dropped down i'd be very surprised they renewed unless prices were reduced. If i was still down south i'd probably renew whatever, might hang to find out if Lowe was still there though. I'll still be running around the Midlands and North of England next season whether it's for Barnsley or Stockport!
  6. Here is the major problem that will not leave until Lowe does. Even if he somehow masterminds a recovery this season and promotion next season, we'll never be able to establish ourselves again under his stewerdship. He's not trotted anything out about us 'Not doing a Leeds' for a while...
  7. Radio Sheff thought we deserved the point when we equalised. It is bleak, but we've been further adrift in past relegation battles. Plus we've got two away games coming up!!! Keep the faith, it's all we've got!
  8. Seems like Rupert's spin.
  9. Can someone answer me how Sheffield Wednesday have avoided administation for so many years despite debts of near £30million. Yet we think we are 'on the verge' of administration due to an agreed £4.5 million overdraft. And come someone also clarify if, since Wupert's flogged off all the high earners if we are still losing money, or not?
  10. I remember that. The club it got it badly wrong that night cos you could only buy a few tickets in advance. I'm sure i sat up in the Upper Westas well that night. Might have been against Lincoln though in the League Cup. I remember some sub 10k crowds at the Dell in the early 90's when the likes of Oldham rocked up.
  11. It seems that way, fingers crossed. But why has it taken over 6 months and a change of manager and all this heartache to realise that when 90% of people on here recognised that in July?
  12. Oh, you should here their moaning fans as well! There squad is quite good, about 4th or 5th best i'd say in the league. And that's where they are. And in the FAC 5th Round. But gawd didn't Blackwell get some abuse after they lost to Donny last week. Mind due, we may have a clueless Dutchman in charge but they've had to have Bryan Robson in recent history - i think i'd prefer 20 more years of Wupert if that was the alternative!
  13. Well it's a good job it's not here tomorrow, looking out my office window and Bramall Lane is pretty white it must be said. I agree with above though, we don;t half make a fuss in this country. The M1 is gritted isn't it? Not ideal driving conditions but if you're not an idiot it's not a problem. So long as the pitch is ok and it's not like an ice rink, get it played.
  14. And the normal and proper order of southern football restored!
  15. That's where my money is, sadly.
  16. I'm almost feeling sorry for Pom*ey. They're broke (worse than us) and falling fast. If they don't go down this year, they will next. Is it just me or does anyone else really really really want Spurs to go down. Even if it meant Pomp*y staying up? I think i just feel it would make me sound less bitter when i slag baggyface off and everyone around me says how wonderful he is.
  17. If we and others in the bottom 3 can find any sort of form i think Plymouth and Blackpool could well be sucked in. Plymouth are in a Pompey sort of free fall.
  18. To answer the pointless question at the start of this thread. I'm sure, if in 10 years time, Leon Crouch is chairman and we are hovering over the relegation zone looking at life in the conference, and we've a chap from Belgium in managing the team (it's his first job), then, then i'd protest. But given Lowe had 8 years (and i don't want to rake over old ground about his pro's and cons', but he basically had 8 years without too much hassle up to 2005/06) i think the next chairman should get a similar amount of time.
  19. Agreed.
  20. Felt sorry for Wotte a litle bit. Why was neither Chairman there to answer the questions about the position? Thought Wotte was hung out to dry.
  21. But Crouch didn't spend spend spend. He got out Rasiak and Scakel and with the manager, identifed a weak area (Davies and Bart were injured don't forget) and ensured we got in someone that would do a short term job. That is the sign of a decent chairman, in my eyes. Balancing the books and addressing the teams needs.
  22. Give the man a break. This is Wilde's fault. When he came in the first time i think a lot of us thought, 'Anyone but Lowe.' Turns out there was someone worse than Lowe. But does that mean we need to accept Lowe now? Sure he's toss, but there are worse people. Or do we have a bit of ambition and take a calculated risk that there is someone better?
  23. Of course it's the point! Without RW we would already been in League 1. And how much lost revenue would that be costing us? As much as what we paid RW, no where near. Better spending money on the odd player than peanuts on a team of monkey's which is the current management tactics.
  24. Spot on. Dyer's always been toss for us. Good luck to the lad if he makes it elsewhere, i've my doubts, but his heart isn't here for whatever reason and you can't really blame the manager cos it's been the same story for all 5 he's had here.
