Donny are flying! Mind due, so are Swansea. I've a sneeky feeling about Saturday though!
-
Look at Forest. Billy Davies really is ideal for this league! They're 'only' 12 points off the playoffs i think. Not sure if they'll make that this season but i bet you they end up closer to there than the relegation zone come May. Why couldn'l Lowe have just noticed he was an idiot a bit sooner and got him in?
-
It's like the Dave Merrington days of player lottery! But you're right. We need a much more settled team. Players will have a run and then disappear for a month. BWP doesn't look to interested the games i've seen him in (Reading the very notable exception!) Cannot believe Rudi hasn't been bought in though. Such a waste, someone needs a massive arm round that one. If Moylenux settles in then Skacel should be able to get going in LM.

2 in 2. McG 4 or 5 in 28? Get Saga started on Sat.

When can Ruperts Dutch experiment be considered a failure?
Sheff Saint replied to Mole's topic in The Saints
I think it's already a failure. I said if we stay up that's probably ok. And we might still stay up. But Wotte is distancing himself from the JP and Lowe mantra of total football and playing the kids come-what-may that was spouted at the start. So i'd suggest, if he keeps us up, that's more to do with Wotte than Lowe's half baked ideas. -
Not sure that was the team selection of a man that's watched us as often as he has! But his subs made a massive difference! But a point is a point, and this was massive. It is tight down there still, there's a little group on 30 points, we can catch them on Saturday so long as we're not at, er, erm, oh... home!

They may be reducing loans, but admin doesn't help with that. They'd not see anywhere near that 6 million if we went into admin.
-
This seems logical. Can we also suggest then that admin isn't that close, following this logic through to the end. If we were only days away from going under, surely Lowe and Wilde would have taken Crouch's 2mil? Ok, they'd lose power but if Lowe is only interested in his long term investment, Crouch would be making that more secure (by shaving 33% of the od off) than it would be if we went into admin? And why would Barclays come knocking for 6 million overdraft if a)we're paying a massive interest rate and b) we've stopped losing money (this needs ratifying, of course)

No he wasn't. LC bought Pearson in but Dodd went back to Assistant Manager. Lowe sacked Dodd when he sacked Pearson. That is the time when NDAs would have been signed. LC had respect for the fact that Dodd had been a great player for 15 years and then stepped up in the interim after Burley left. Sure, it wasn't working out (after just 5 games...) but LC didn't do a Lowe and shaft him, he let him return to his previous position.
-
If he manages to get us out of this, of course he deserves next season. If ever some was up against it's Wotte. Will he keep us up? I wouldn't bet a penny on it truth be told, but fingers crossed he does the business.
-
Quite. Don't forget Jones was on full pay during his gardening leave. Yes, it was hard for him but of all the things Lowe has done wrong (and they are many) the myth that Jones was mis-treated really irks. I think Lowe did very well with the handling of that one.
-
Exactly. Dyer might one day be ok (he'll never be better than that) but only if coached very well and if in a team of big stong men. In our current set up he's not got the physical support he needs.

New striker - signed? According to Dutch Media
Sheff Saint replied to ladysaint's topic in The Saints
Some one to help create some decent chances is very welcome. And height and power too. I suppose we'll soon see if McG is contractually obliged to start or if he was just JP's love interest. How about a sweep on when this will first appear on the OS? Maybe in the post-match report of the Norwich game when his names on the teamsheet? -
This is football. Common sense has no place here!

OS Confirmed Michael Svennson - New Assistant Coach
Sheff Saint replied to steadyeddie's topic in The Saints
It is very political. I just hope Killer can get some good from it. I hate the mis-trust i have of everything at the club at the moment. It's not enjoyable... -
A bit more optimistic. A bit. A very small amount. From 0% confident we'll stop up to 5%. It's a change, and that was undoubtly needed. So fingers crossed. But my head still says it's an absolute farce and without any doubt Lowe needs to go. Technically he didn't even instigate this, JP quit, so IF Wotte does turn it around he can't even take any real credit for taking action. Cos he ain't.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4072864.Jan_hits_back_after_end_of_a__beautiful_adventure_/ I hope the full interview doesn't start blaming the fans. JP was out of his depth, I hope he recognises that. 1 win in 14 will see the fans turn on you. The main target should still be the idiots that put him there.
-
Yeah! Fair point. In one paragraph they highlight the fact we're **** and in the other they are painting it as if we were desperate to keep hold of JP due to all the good work he had done before being lured to Real Madrid. Continuity IS NOT required here. Thanks.
-
Wilde being bought out for this one, Rupert still away. Both this and the club statement suggests, reading between the lines, that the resignation was welcome. Not sure that means a lot. Thought we were saying nothing further til Monday? Joke.
-
I think this simplifies thing. Although we've already got our doubts about Wotte, he should be given some time. On the other hand a certain rosy cheeked **** should most certainly not be given a further second at the club. He must go NOW.
-
Ha! And why no comment til Monday. Monday! This club is run like a ****ing joke. Lowe's probably off toasting crumpets in the ass of some of his public school fags this weekend.
-
If Wotte's got the job, what's the bloody point. I hope, as i did at the start of the season, that it's rammed down my throat that I'm wrong, but what have we done, swap one crazy Dutchman for another.

Shareholders meeting at the De Vere, Fri 23/01/09
Sheff Saint replied to derry's topic in The Saints
Well done Derry, keep up the promotion. These groups have to start somewhere and from small acorns... We could procrastinate about a date til the cows come home, but it's good to see someone doing something and not just hot air.
