  1. Terry Venables. Ruined Euro 96 by not picking Matty, for buying Portsmouth and cos he's a c***
  2. Ahh. Common sense. One day the football club will get a dose of it!
  3. If JPs style was working, and he bowed to fan pressure to change to 'proper CCC style' than that show's JP was a weak manager. Sadly, i think JP was not only weak, but also not tactically good enough. He tinkered too much and we played far too narrow. He (or Lowe) has also wasted what resources we did have. I don't think O'Driscoll has done that. And we do have to factor in the expectation levels. For Donny, there was always going to be more patience. They've rocketed in recent seasons and exceeding most fans expectations. Even though many of us don't believe we deserve to be any higher than we currently are, we all feel we should be, despite the current playing staff. This, by contrast, is our lowest position in many many years so of course the tolerance levels of supporters is going to be lower. These are factors which can't be underesimated in shaping a season. Thats not the fans fault, it's just how it is.
  4. Didn't you get that t**t Venables though when you went into admin? There is a golden reason why admin is not a good idea! Lord, i think i'd even prefer 10 more years of Rupert than that fake tanned c**t
  5. Of course Forest, Leeds and Man City fans went down happy. Not once did they complain about such a balls up of poor mis-management and stage protests...Peter Risdale and Franny Lee (and the chap before him that died a few years back) were all given the freedom of their respective cities...
  6. What concerns me is not what we sing, say or do but that we sing, say or do something. The support was ok for the first half at Bristol City (i don't think the ground is helpful in creating a good away support...) but what upset me the most at the end is no one seemed to care. It was frustrating the hell out of me that we were so slow going forward in the last 10 mins - but no one else seemed to react near me. So positive singing or anti-lowe signing are both fine by me, what we really need to avoid is apathy. That is footballing cancer.
  7. For me, i just felt the defence seemed strong today. Sure, we were exposed a bit in the first half hour but compared to some of the performances, even Derby and Reading, i thought we coped well with the City threat. And Davis was a big part of that. I'm actually a bit of a Euell fan (thou not for his Saints performances!!) but just didn't think he imposed himself as well as he could. To be fair, i might have been harsh on him but for me the link up between mid-field and attack wasn't as good as it should have been. For all our possession we didn't really make the keeper work very hard, and even though Saga and McG didn't try too hard, they weren't presented too many gift wrapped chances. Just how i saw it, do you think that's fair? Maybe i was a touch harsh on Euell.
  8. Agree. Think Plymouth have (just) enough points on the board.
  9. I agree, but for the life of me don't know why he was so central. At the stage of the game to put someone so small in the centre forward position, where he was promdomintly, was barmy.
  10. My ratings, for what it's worth. Davis 8, James 6, Perry 8, Sajies 8, Skacel 6, Morgan 6, Wotton 6, Euell 5, Surman 4, McGoldrick 5, Saga 4
  11. I was there and thought McGoldrick was ****. Saga was too, but there is no way i'd have taken off Saga first. No way. And it didnt't work. All that pressure we were building up and the last 10 minutes were, really, a damp squib, in no smalll part due to the poor substitutions.
  12. What makes this season so so so frustrating is how unavoidable this is / was. Sure, we're broke but you don't have to be very good to stay up. We're so **** it's unbeliveable. Still, i suspect Wotte will tell us on the website how he's not seen a better team than us this season...
  13. Just back from the game. I thought defensivly we were very good. Best i've seen us in the 12 odd games i've seen this season. Size, Perry and Davis. If we could keep them together in League 1 we might just finish mid-table! The rest was average. Midfield was ok, Surman was poor. Set-pieces really shabby. Forwards both poor but why Saga came off before that fat assed waddler McGoldrick. And WHY THE HELL WAS MCGLAGGON PUT AS CENTRE FORWARD FOR THE LAST TEN MINUTES. Every ball was being pumped up to a migit! We are down, no doubt. And of course a very average Bristol City team won, are just off the play offs and largely thanks to two big centre halves and one big centre fwd and one small one. As has been said above, it's hardly rocket science is it?
  14. I have no problem with signing a non league player. Per se. But one that has had so many clubs, and at the age this one is at, no chance he'll be any good. That sound is the noise of a barrel being scraped.
  15. There may well only one division between us next season! Eastleigh could be as far behind us are we are behind Wigan. That's a bit wrong.
  16. Marlon King? I'd imagine he's 'out of favour' at the moment.
  17. I don't think it is inevitable we will go into adminstration if we went down. When Sheff Wed were in League 1 they had over £30mil in debt and avioded administation. Of course if Lowe stays in power after we're down all this seasons problems will be magnified even further (if that's possible) which will really affect gates. But if, if we are in with a shout of a play off place we will get gates near to 15k and if Lowe is gone i think we could see the odd 20k gate, if the prices are right. I think i'm saying there are so many hyperthetical questions between now and a point in time when admin might be necessary that we should never enter administration on a voluantary basis. We should fight hard to get rid of Wupert and cross everything we stop up and are not forced into administration.
  18. I hope you're right. I just can't see we'd turn round the home form like that. Mind due, in football it often happens that after a really poor sequence like we've had at home you win one and a little run follows. Hopefully. It did feel like we were down last season in early April and we survived.
  19. Centre halves get better with age. What were we to do. Mills wasn't ready for the first team when he left, as was shown by him dropping down to League 1 with Donny. He's now showing the potential we thought he had. If you were Matt Mills and we'd said, here's a new decent 5 year contract but we're loaning you to Donny for two years would you take it, or join Man City in the Prem? Cranie is the same. He's earning big money at Pompey but (has been) learning the trade in the CCC. It's a real shame but there you go, that is modern day football. We're not the only one's. Look at the much worse, much more costly and much more shambolic policy Spurs have just employed of re-signing 3 former players!
  20. In retrospect it might just have been better to keep NP and leave Wotte and JP in Holland.
  21. No, but i reckon this is where we keep shooting ourselves in the foot. I think website needs to get much much better on the 'softer' stuff. It's lost ALL creditibilty. Even people i know that don;t come on here and are apathetic to the whole baordroom thing don't use the OS as a source for anything anymore except ticket info! It's the 21st century. You can't keep ignoring the bad things, we read them elsewhere. If Rupert was any good with comms he'd have the website 'highlighting' the negatives but turning them round in his favour, much much better. For example they could have done a piece on the March last week. Everyone knew it was happening, the OS could have said it was because of the uneasy feeling about the club's direction. They then could have lined up some cracking entertainment or offers to encourage people to the ground first. Of course we all pick through Rupert's comments with a fine tooth comb so one go in isolation isn't going to achieve anything but if he (or the comms person) kept plugging away all of a sudden you'd have a different picture of events cos you might actually trust what the website said. Not everyone would, of course. And results are the biggest thing. But in the absence of those improving anytime soon why not try the 'softer things' instead of the 'Company Website' mentatility they have at the moment. It wouldn't do any harm, that's for sure.
  22. No, i'm not suggesting nothing. Not at all. I want Lowe gone probably more than the next man. I'm just worried Admin isn't the right route. We need to do something but there is no proof admin will get rid of Lowe or improve our situation. In fact that looks worse. We need to pressure Lowe to quitting and get Crouch in, albeit short term. And to that end get marching, get boycotting, do something and hope beyond hope we stop up in the meantime.
