  1. All I'll say is a significant percentage of saints fans would disagree with you. Twitchy is the definition of a cunt and a significant reason for that is his history with the great unwashed next door to us.
  2. Yep he had reasonable success for a season at Bournemouth (with some dodgy bits in between) and a good season at Wolves. He then had a terrible season at Wolves resulting in his deserved sacking with the vast majority of Wolves fans thinking he was a nice bloke but not up to it. None of them wanted him back when he was linked recently.
  3. I do understand it's not as black and white as someone like Lowe given that it is generally accepted that Solak has put money in. I get the protests like that are kind of half arsed for that reason.
  4. You never cared about the skate history of Saggy chops?
  5. Imagine Rangers fans accepting a Celtic legend who previously described themselves s a Celtic fan as their manager. Would never happen. It's already happened here once with Saggy which was an absolute fucking disgrace. We are beyond soft if this goes ahead without comment.
  6. I listed who I felt was better above. Even the person trying to push back against that has accepted that the names I posted were better options. As someone else said, he's the type of manager who isn't particularly tactically astute and has had some mild success by being a nice guy. That's before we mention the fact that he is very much a skate.
  7. That's just one reason to add to the other reasons for not appointing him.
  8. I don't agree than O'Neil is a good appointment. He had an up and down opening season at Bournemouth, a decent season with Wolves and then a terrible second season where he was rightly sacked. Plus he's a skate.
  9. Anyone being alright with someone like that running their club shouldn't seriously call themselves a saints fan. Might as well see if we can rehire Saggy or check what David Norris is doing.
  10. In what way is he good? He had an initial bounce when he was appointed at Bournemouth before not winning in 8 games and just about surviving at the end of the season. He went to Wolves, had a good first season and then it all came crashing down, long winless runs and got sacked with them in 19th. Where does it suggest he has the qualities required based on one decent season with Wolves to get us firing and up near the playoffs? Plus he's a skate.
  11. No they aren't. The six I touted as possibilities in what way are they worse or not realistic? What does O'Neil bring that makes you think he'd be the best man for the job?
  12. When Spors appoints Reinald Gerhad from the German third division, O'Neil won't seem so bad.
  13. I'd rather have Sturrock than O'Neil.
  14. I'm not sure why we'd think that. Carrick has an example of being an impact manager at Boro. I don't think oniel does.
  15. My prediction: We will play five at the back again. Bazunu will stay in goal and make mistakes which may or may not lead to a goal. We will score and then panic allowing Wednesday to score. We will get a second and hang on for an unconvincing 2-1 win. Off the back of that Sports Republic will announce that they've seen enough and appoint Eckert as the new manager. I wonder how much I will get right.
  16. My mistake! He's the equivalent of appointing Sturrock.
  17. I'm not avoiding anything! I didn't consider it relevant to the discussion since I never disputed that a managerial choice would be a gamble. What I said was that the response to someone saying they don't want O'Neil of "who do you expect Zidane?" is ridiculous which it is. You are aware I am sure of a number of realistic managers we have been linked with, many of whom I would rather have here than O'Neil. That does not mean I am asking for someone completely unrealistic. If you want to go off on a tangent and debate something I haven't disputed then six managers we could conceivably get that I may not even be a huge fan of but I would prefer to O'Neil: Hassenhuntl Carrick Corberan Robins Wagner Carsley
  18. That's the team.
  19. I think I'm leaning that way as well. Combination of a decent player so should command respect, has worked with some of our players and knows how to get the best out of them, has history in the league of improving performances for a team near the bottom, good links in the game so may be able to attract some decent talent on loan and seems quite likable compared to some of our managers who are very grating.
  20. Every managerial appointment we could make would be a gamble of some kind clearly. I never claimed anyone we get in would be the messiah but taking issue with someone who doesn't want O'neil by saying "who do you expect Zidane?" is perverse. No one is calling for wholly unrealistic options, they'd just prefer someone else on the realistic list who isn't so divisive.
  21. 100% Gary O'Neil would lose at fratton and you'd have the agent Gary shit all over the Internet. I don't want to be managed by a divisive figure when we badly need some unity.
  22. Ridiculous response. There's at least 6 options on the list I'd prefer to Gary O'Neil. The options aren't Gary O'Neil or Zidane.
  23. What has Gary O'Neil done to show he would be a good option in this situation? That's before you even mention his extensive history with that lot down the road.
  24. Absolutely insane.
