Is promotion worth 90 million to a club or not? (disregarding what you subsequently spend that money on or any clauses you have in player contracts- a choice of the individual club.)

DPS: Fancy trying to explain what you meant? If you get relegated then it's 90 million including parachute payments, if not then it's worth more than 90 million! Being non-abusive would be a bonus too.

In a nutshell. That is the answer. What we choose to do with that (be it put the standard wage increase clause in our player contracts or whatever) is entirely our choice but in terms of revenue, that breaks it down nicely.

Otherwise you get at least 30 million tv revenue and if you stay up then you get that AGAIN the season after. Therefore promotion has meant you have got a lot more than the 35 million you claim. There we go I was able to make my point without abuse, not sure you will be able to achieve the same feat.

As soon as you get promoted, you are guaranteed parachute payments should you ever be relegated at any point in the future.

So 50 million of parachute payments and then 35 million tv revenue. Maybe 85 million? A lot closer than 35 million at any rate.

So really promotion can be worth 100 million, it's just that clubs choose to spend more money. Additionally, the parachiue payments mean you will receive at least 100 million doesnt it? Why should the parachute payments not count?

I don't think anyone wants us to spend over our means but I think that if we sell Puncheon then with the Chamberlin money that's 16 million. Not unreasonable to expect some of that to be spent on a player or two to fire us to promotion.
