Well yes but sometimes building up friendships with other clubs can be beneficial. Other clubs may make it more difficult for us to get a certain player we want for instance or ask for more money from us. Clearly you aren't going to please everyone but something like the chairman letter story if true (and have no reason to doubt Pat's connections) seems like we were being deliberately provocative. It was a while ago though so many things have been toned down since then.

I believe there was a league chairmans meeting and ours was the only one who didn't show up. He left a letter apparently saying some insulting stuff but I can't remember exactly what. I think patred knows as he is involved with Ipswich.

That was probably a combination of the letter he wrote to all the other chairmen and things like that Coventry player thinking he had signed for us before we pulled out.

I think it's because of Cortese's inflexible style which I suspect puts some players off signing for us. Cortese has shown that he is willing to change and he is still new at this job. As he says, the summer should we go up will be a very interesting indicator of where we are.
