Yes that's the general impression I've seen, hence why I said I'll probably end up watching it.
-
I was talking more generally than about the odyssey specifically. Like I said I haven't seen it.
-
And if the FA gave him that I don't think any rival clubs would kick up a fuss or consider it unfair. They will be fully aware that an attempt to give him more than that will royally fuck up our season.
-
Is a ten game touchline ban fair? Reduced to six in appeal? I'd probably take that at this point. Depending on how we get on in the league cup could be back in time for pompey....
-
I'm pretty sure those are fairly large considerations unfortunately but like you say that's now a requirement to be eligible for the awards. It does sound like these actors are decent though from what people are saying and if nothing is made of their identities in the form if social commentary, I'm generally alright with it. If it's not detrimental to the storyline and immersion then it's not really a problem.

What sounds like a fair review here. Think I will go and watch it after all:
-
His transfer value to us is probably higher than his value to us as a player. As you say he's not a guaranteed starter and close to 30 million may mean we have made enough money from sales once Archer, bbd, the Japanese full back I can't remember the name of etc.
-
Surely (surely) the club wouldn't be making hay with that mlt shirt picture if they weren't confident in him staying? Tbf though I remember being burnt by the old saints fc calendar one year when half the players in it had left by the start of the season so no guarantees.
-
Yep. Could still go but you'd imagine that anyone coming in would replace them so hopefully would be of a similar quality. At least shows there's a chance of keeping them.
-
Or Bree (and reportedly Manning who asked to sign a new contract). That at least half the team who don't think he's a twat.
-
Cheers. I was worried about it being largely taken from a feminist retelling of the original which I assumed would be quite jarring along with some of the weird casting choices like Ellen page et al. Sounds like it's worth a go though.
-
Was it actually good? Not sure I can be bothered to sit in the cinema for three hours.
-
Alfie house and the athletic have both reported that they didn't think he would get a ban.
-
Indeed. Not sure why the club would know much at this point.
-
Reading the caveats in the reporting, the "up to six months" ban is pote tally good news. That means that six months is potentially the absolute upper limit for a ban. Maybe this is before mitigation, legal argument from our side about proportionality etc.
-
Who are all these sources chatting shit to everyone. If they're going to ban him then just fucking do it now don't leave everyone hanging on for another week.
-
I don't think our lawyers will view it that way if we have to go down the legal route.
-
I can absolutely see the logic in him getting charged. My only quarrel is with the perceived double standard between the warning for Bielsa and the charge for Tonda when on the face of it the Bielsa FA rule breach is more egregious.
-
But you could argue that it's the club's decision to continue to employ him. Sack him and it's problem solved for the club...
-
Presumably the answer would be that the FA have deemed it to have broken their rules because we've broken our league rules but that's not a way to run things. The FA could potentially disagree with the rules of the EFL.
-
Indeed. Not difficult to understand and one of the things I'd expect the lawyers to be asking if we don't get a result we deem to be fair.
-
Who is they in that scenario? Your post is an explanation for why the EFL treated us differently, not why the FA would treat Tonda differently for breaking the same rule as Bielsa (arguably to a lesser extent since Tonda only did it three times.)
-
Technically it was just three instances of the same thing (that we had already admitted to months ago.) Not sure why it's such big news.
-
You're the one who is misunderstanding. There is no spying rule in the FA rulebook. He broke the EFL rules and that's why the club was charged by the EFL. There is no different rule to break under fa rules that has changed since beilsa broke the rule previously.
-
Bored of their antics. He was always worth close to 30.
