It's widely accepted that one of the big problems with our squad last year was the lack of experience to complement the youngsters. We've brought Manning in which is great and possibly Tella who has a season of experience under his belt, but the squad badly needs some experience in it in order to do well.

Hmm really not sure about this if true. Do we really want another youngster?

I agree with that but his responsibility is mitigated by the fact that we had no money. At the time I knew quite a few people who worked at the club and he was a popular guy.

When we got in the europa league I couldn't believe that some of our games weren't sold out by other saints fans. I went to Holland twice, Italy and Prague because I predicted (accurately) that we weren't going to get there again any time soon. Watching us play around Europe was miles better than seeing us against United or Everton for the 100th time.

There's absolutely zero evidence that we Tella is unhappy and would stink the place out, it's a myth cooked up by Burnley fans. If we sold him for 9 million it would be a disgrace but we won't be doing so.

It's not even if he wants to go. If he doesn't down tools and refuse to play then he should be playing here next year in my opinion. He could potentially fire us to promotion.

What makes the likes of Salisu worth as much as Tella? Imo Tella is worth loads more, particularly to us as a team who is currently struggling to create and score.

My main frustration is that we've played him for most of preseason and him leaving now is going to create a fairly big hole. It's unfortunate that Burnley didn't just pony up the money. Unlike some of the others he's clearly worth at least 15 million.

Walcott, big willy and Elyounoussi gone as well so we have lost some. Absolutely humongous squad we had though.

No he left to gain first team experience. He now has that and if he ends up with poch or even at Liverpool then he will be playing most weeks.

Cheers for that. Not that bad a start then really although could have been better. I'd be absolutely gutted if we lost Tella for a small amount. Anyone we buy in to replace him will be a risk whereas he is a proven performer in the championship.

Yes but worth bearing in mind that if we lose say three of our first five games, it will be a bit of a battle for automatic promotion. Not impossible of course but we could mess things up early doors.
