Learnt my lesson last week after giving him both barrels about the team. Trouble is I'd been burnt by Jones and the performances he got out of the players. I trust Selles this week to put the team out he thinks is best for this game and you can bet that all of them will know their role and be clear about what is expected of them. I'm fine with Bednarek, Elyounoussi and AMN starting if that's what Ruben thinks is best.

Or they considered someone with zero experience to be a risky appointment? He's not going to score highly with their beloved metrics if he has no history.

In which case it wouldn't matter if we gave it to him or not.

It feels like even if we were to go down now he's someone you want to give a chance to and you want success for the club but also for him as well because it seems like he deserves it. A small part of me resented any success that Jones got and that's a horrible feeling to have about your club.

Also worth saying I'd absolutely love us to unearth a decent manager from within our ranks. Somehow it feels so much better when that happens and you have a greater connection with the manager in the same way that you do with an academy talent.

Hasn't he played like one league game? Hardly true to say he's had much of a chance, particularly as it was under Jones who didn't seem capable of communicating what he wanted from the players.

In the list of our problems I'd say that's firmly near the bottom. If by some miracle we survived this year the euphoria will be such that no one really gives a toss and we'd have the summer to get a cm in or two (maybe one that can play 90 minutes every week consistently which tbf could even be an improvement on Lavia given how much he's missed this year.)

The difference was that the school bs were given specific instructions and they all knew the job that was required of them. It's simple stuff but it's the clarity we need if we are going to get out of this. For the first time this year there's a bit of hope that we could maybe do something.

Just imagine if we'd have had Selles last week as well. We'd have most likely won that too. Shame.
