  1. She's absolutely miles less famous than Arianna Grande and the average person has never heard of her.
  2. I don't disagree with that. You could argue that the poppy isn't a political symbol but I'd be more than happy with a rule that says you don't wear anything on the shirts and just play.
  3. I don't think supporting that lobby is harmless at all. You only have to see the harms outlined in the Cass report to realise that factions within that lobby are evil. I agree with one of the original creators that the meaning has been perverted. I particularly object to it in sport which people tend to use for escapism and largely object to political messaging. Where they accept it, most of the time it is grudgingly and that includes the players. Even lgbt icon Henderson was shown to be a raging hypocrite.
  4. That's a better first 11 than I was expecting tbf. We will ge thrashed whatever happens so let's hope some of the fringe players have a good game.
  5. No it isn't just a phase it's become some yearly thing that players are pressured into going along with it. I think I mentioned previously that my brother in law was a professional footballer and this is exactly how it is viewed by most players in the dressing room - something they don't particularly want to do but know they will get a load of grief if they don't go along with it. As posted above, the original creator of the rainbow campaign highlights how necessary it used to be but now recognises it correctly as something wholly different from what it started as. Stonewall need an excuse to keep existing and the money rolling in so they have morphed into these diversity champions that companies have started running away from over the last couple of years because it's a racket designed to give Stonewall money whilst they do great harm. Like it or not, the rainbow campaign is no longer about simple equality but instead is overtly political and that's why it isn't supported by a significant number who don't want that sort of thing in sport or society in general quite frankly.
  6. Good to see. You do wonder though how much public criticism there would have been had Democrats won the election or if Biden wasn't out in a month.
  7. I'm not blaming them for last year. They are absolutely complicit for policies introduced when they were last in power which contributed to this situation. Of course the tories take the lions share because they have failed to sort it out which is a huge reason why they were destroyed recently.
  8. Both main political parties have betrayed this country
  9. Without getting all conspiracy theory, there's a fair bit of evidence of the likes of George soros funding organisations that subsequently meddle in foreign countries.
  10. Am not sure what cancelled means in this context. He's been publically criticised for being arrogant and unprofessional with his comments and he's been dropped as a host on MasterChef as a result. I could be wrong but I haven't seen anything beyond that like prosecution or anything. I expect he would be free to pop up on reality telly or similar if he were so minded.
  11. Yes i understand that but as I understand it I bthe past there were certain understandings that the power wouldn't be abused. I just find the whole thing odd and certainly as a brit the idea that if you do a crime you should accept the concept of fair play and take your punishment like a man is part of our psyche
  12. I don't think Democrats who don't speak up and oppose this can ever really claim to have the moral high ground again. Just bizarre the power a president has though. Able to just commute any crime based on what they feel like. This pardon is also a blanket one for any crimes committed over the past decade. Extraordinary that someone can just do whatever they like and then just get their crimes forgiven like that.
  13. So only political donations from British citizens? Like I said, couldn't the donation be from Tesla UK? In that scenario the argument could then be that it's from a company directly affected by political decisions in this country rather than a foreigner unaffected by anything happening here.
  14. Obviously but if you think this is the same thing you're a fucking imbecile.
  15. Couldn't tesla UK make the donation rather than Musk himself? I support the principle of individuals being able to support a political party. You could argue that the amount is inappropriate but then you'd have to have some rule in place about a cap on an individual donation and that could be a tricky thing to work out.
  16. Well that would be something:
  17. A Lefty paper employs people like soggy and then potentially goes bust because no one cares about them and their ridiculous opinions. Oh dear, how sad, cry me a river.

    Russia

Aren't some of the rebels Islamic state? Sounds like there's scum on both sides and rather like with the Arab spring that people were cheering this could just end up making the region worse and more chaotic.
  19. Mods can we have these posts deleted please? Really don't need a sensible topic with thoughtful contributions derailed.
  20. I did notice that and it gave me a chuckle. As racist and incompetent as I think they sometimes are, I think we all have nuance to us and there's normally shades of grey (apart from some posters on here who are 100% scumbags). Abbott in particular did a speech that I thought was the best I'd seen from her.
  21. Possibly easier just to treat every topic on here like a big joke. I noted the tone of this topic and sensed that maybe posters on here felt similarly to myself on this issue and were looking to treat it with the seriousness it deserved. It's why I was quite careful not to denigrate anyone personally for their support of this bill even though I vehemently disagree. More fool me clearly because soggy can't help being the worst type of person. Like I said he just proves again and again what sort of person he is but unfortunately with this topic and definitely after the result yesterday I let him get to me. I'll be back to taking the piss out of him shortly.
  22. Sounds like the major reason she was let go was because she didn't tell the whole truth to Starmer from the outset like you said.
  23. I really tried to respond in this thread in a respectful manner but he really is just a narcissistic dickhead looking for a reaction. I don't think he believes any of the shit he spews on here, it's just designed to provoke reactions.
  24. I'm assuming Onuachu is still injured. Can't see us dropping Sugawara. I'd like to see Edwards given a chance too though.
  25. Which he clearly should have. I'd be giving Amo Ameyew MOR of a chance this year too.
