Again, I don't think selling Reed and Lemina to Fulham is weakening the squad. I do think it's reducing our current potential options for this season whilst strengthening a rival though. That obviously changes if we do bring in the required midfield strengthening.
-
I don't think we have weakened last years squad by letting Lemina and Reed go. My point is that we were fortunate that we got through last year with the limited cm options that we had given that both of the aforementioned were out on loan. I think our transfer business often leaves the impression that we are looking way down our list after missing out on many of our first choices and we leave ourselves very light in certain areas (cb when we sold vvd for example). The guff about wanting to work with a small squad is pretty much just spin to cover the fact that we can't afford much.
-
I find it weird that we have allowed Lemina and Reed to leave to a prem rival and haven't replaced either of them yet. I woild suggest that Fulham currently have more options in cm than us now largely because they have two of our players.
-
Indeed. Ideally you'd actually want two cm signings so jwp can have a rest every once in a while.
-
We still have a load of players out on loan that we can't get rid of or the likes of forster on obscene wages. Our core squad is pretty tiny though and we have almost nothing on the bench. Ideally we would get at least another 3 in.
-
We have djenepo who lacks any match sharpness and that's literally it without boufal yet I've been told we are getting rid of him too.
-
Honestly though who else is there to play? We are bare bones on the bench and who wants to rely on long and Obafemi for anything? Vestergaard maybe? We don't have a replacement rb or lb, no other cms. It's a mess.
-
It has to be complacency. Truly extraordinary that the club have allowed the pkayers to arrive back unfit. Fine all those who Ralph is referring to its a disgrace.
-
Surely the club are also to blame if they've allowed the players to get to a point of being unfit during the break?
-
To be honest if we lose ings this window then we might as well give up and accept relegation. Unfit players are grossly unprofessional. Awful.
-
What's changed to cause such a dramatic shift in gears from where we were just a few weeks ago? Worrying that we can regress so much with no urgency whatsoever. I can't sit through and watch this tripe. I'm fine to lose but when we play like this for an extended number of games it's just a complete chore to watch.
-
Actually ridiculous that we have made no attackobg or midfield signings this summer.
-
It does seem a long time ago since we had an exciting signing. Salisu looks like a decent signibg to be fair but I'm not going to get excited about a defender.
-
No one has ever claimed we don't spend money. It's clear we don't spend much above what we get in.
-
It was like the polar opposite performance from the majority since the restart. Not sure if it was lack of fitness or just missing Armstrong but there was just no speed in anything we did. Hard to blame Adams and ings because they simply got nothing. We badly need some midfield reinforcements to provide some impetus and urgency.
-
I expect lemona is different although we got an option to buy for him didn't we? I'm told we want hoedt to go but I think the wages are the issue.
-
Yep. Saints really keen to get any of the people they don't want out. Prepared to accept pretty much anything for them.

Like I said I was told mid October so it wouldn't surprise me. No idea who we are talking to but we are in discussions. -
The midfield was the main issue today. Zero dynamism and the attackers had no service at all.

Following that logic, do you think Gao would be disliked if he was putting money in and was vocal about his plans to fans? I mean liebherr was a foreigner and no one had a problem with him. What if he had been exactly the same but a Chinaman? -

As a man who has 1/200000th of my dna as indigenous American, I'm offended by the term "American." I'd prefer "descendents of redskin oppressors". Cheers. -

Reading this thread reminded me of the time that insane poster tried to say that using the word Chinaman when describing Gao was offensive and racist. Lolololol -

The sfc ultras should start mobilising in anticipation. If he outlaws face paints and jester hats then we will know we are in trouble. Dark times. -

One thing I will say is that the bloke who told me about this strongly believes that this is a good thing. I'm not sure myself.
