Sadly not. Labour will be increasing the amount of "free" childcare they offer should they get into power which will exacerbate the problem, not a chance will they allow nurseries to charge any sort of top up considering that they view business owners as evil heartless monsters and employees as saintly and virtuous.

Because whilst running costs and wages continue to climb, what the government gives to nurseries for each child has gone down and it won't be changing for another couple of years at least. The arbitrary offering of 30 hours "free" childcare was a campaign promise by the tories purely to counter a promise from labour who offered 20 but it wasn't properly thought through or costed and nurseries now receive less per child whilst paying business rates, wages, resources, bills etc etc. Add to that the pressures from Ofsted, the stresses of dealing with certain parents, child safeguarding issues (in many cases nursery workers are acting as social workers due to the real social workers having too many cases to deal with) and it's no surprise that groups are closing. What the government should have done if they wanted to help parents is either properly funded things or heavily subsidised childcare whilst allowing nurseries to charge a small top up to make up the funding shortfall. This would have dramatically reduced childcare costs whilst allowing nurseries to make up the big gap in their funding that suddenly developed but inexplicably they failed to do so. I don't think anyone would be likely to have a go at someone for something like that even if they are scumbags. MB has been a decent poster on here for years and I'm glad he's back doing his regular stuff.

We were always going to lose and 3-0 isn't as bad as it could have been. I'm sad that we no longer go into these games thinking we could give it a good go and get a result but these aren't the games where I think we will be looking for one.

Oh those poor unfortunate London property owners burdened by the expectations of living a decent life. How will they survive? Maybe they'll have to downgrade their venti latte to a smaller one. My heart bleeds for them. What it comes down to is that those without property currently living in London may be more able to get a foot on the property ladder if we see a drop in the ridiculous house prices in London. I and I suspect the majority of the public's sympathies are going to lie with those people and you're going to be hard pushed to convince anyone that we should really be caring more about those who already have a substantial asset in the form of property in London. Or should we be wishing for London house prices to continue to climb because it makes middle class home owners a little bit more comfortable?

Property owners in London are definitely the highest cause for concern when discussing poverty in the UK.

I've never once claimed that Corbyn was a proven anti semite and the parallels between Orban and corbyn in this instance were entirely obvious so let's not pretend you've somehow managed to see something that wasn't clear to everyone else. I have claimed that Corbyn has allowed anti semitic feeling to grow within the Labour Party and also that an argument could be made that he is anti semitic just as you could with Orban. If corbyn supporters have been trying to get that point across then they are more stupid than I thought since precisely nobody has tried to claim that being critical of Israel in isolation is the reason why he was being called anti semitic. And I also never claimed that the quote above was solely about Soros. I assumed he was talking about globalists and what he sees as the erosion of nation states by powerful individuals like Soros if what was reported was accurate. I can absolutely see why he would be accused of anti semitism for a quote like that though in exactly the same way that I could see corbyn accused of the same thing for his words and actions. I'm not really sure how you can refer to Orban with such certainty as a "proven anti semite" and then not use the exact same logic to make the same claim about corbyn unless you have some sort of double standard. I don't claim to know an awful lot about Orban, what is clear though is that there are strong arguments from both sides on this issue and it's certainly not as proven as Bexy claimed it was. Orban himself would vehemently deny it for example just as corbyn would.
