  1. Lol. I'd rather have someone with experience of managing in the premier league thanks. We don't even know that kelvin would want the job in the unlikely event that we would offer it to him and he has zero managerial experience. Don't get me wrong I'd have taken him over pellegrino if thst was the only option but we'd be crazy to turn down Hughes over someone who has never been a manager.
  2. Would you rather have Hughes in charge or pellegrino? If you answered Hughes then this can only be a positive development and it will hopefully give us a better chance to stay up.
  3. My sisters boyfriend is an ex footballer and knows a lot of current players. He says Hughes thinks a lot of himself and is a bit of a c*nt by all accounts. Sounds like we need a bit of that to be honest after pellegrino.
  4. Silva has been linked with someone else in the summer. It's quite likely he wouldn't come here in my opinion.
  5. Don't know what's wrong with some people. We have 8 games left in this terrible season. We will be pretty unnatractive to many candidates, we want Premier league experience and someone who has had a bit of success. Potter is too much of a gamble at this stage and other options people have named are unrealistic at this stage of the season. Would you rather we kept pellegrino? Or gave Hughes a chance to possibly keep us up?
  6. "Southampton felt that he could be a long term success". Absolutely zero indication of that and a terrible lack of judgement.
  7. Some weird reactions to Hughes potentially coming in. Compared to pellegrino he would be a brilliant appointment. I said I'd welcome almost anyone and that is certainly the case here.
  8. Because we have 8 games and are a good bet to be relegated so we won't be attracting managers above our station with big reputations. It will be Hughes or someone of a similar calibre I expect. All this stuff about paying a big name 10 million to keep us up has never been done in the history of the league and we won't do it either.
  9. Not very realistic though are they.
  10. Prem experience and not silva? Looks like Hughes is the obvious choice or Nigel Pearson. Surprised we wouldn't at least try for silva unless we already know he would turn us down.
  11. His interviews were marginally more tolerable than Puel's.
  12. Which makes you wonder why we weren't willing to spend that money a few months ago. We would be nowhere near the position we are now in with even a semi competent manager.
  13. What rubbish. Mark Hughes will probably get the job and would be infinitely preferable to pellegrino despite his limitations.
  14. If we go down now at least we have a fresh start and I'm happier going to games.
  15. Thank the lord.
  16. Oh I agree he won't be sacked. I'm just hoping if we do lose that it's a drubbing so the pressure on him ramps up and maybe he will think of fecking off before West Ham.
  17. "Whilst the board are aware of the serious situation, they are relaxed and confident that Pellegrino will be able to get the necessary results over the remainder of the season."
  18. If the club come out and say anything at all- which I doubt- then that is exactly what they will say. Probably something about continuity being important for the remainder of the season too.
  19. If losing this gets him sacked then I'd be OK with it.
  20. Only reason not to sack him now is if they care more about looking foolish than wanting the club to not get relegated. Not sacking him today shows where their priorities lie.
  21. The first half of spurs away has to be up there. I watched it with a spurs fan and he turned to me at half time and said if his team had played like that then he would be livid. It was like a training game.
  22. Yep. Combined with the sale of our best play in January and then the failure to spend hardly any of the money, I don't think a club has ever done less to try to prevent relegation in the history of the league. I am starting to wonder why that is. It's absolutely baffling.
  23. My father in law loves me. Thanks for the concern xxx
  24. I think when we look back on this period in a few years, that article will be one of the most memorable things. It sums up our entire season, why we are very likely to go down and how arrogance and ineptitude has prevented us from stopping something that could have been so easily prevented. A total shambles and a disgrace. I'm not sure I have ever seen a situation so badly managed in all my years supporting this team. I'd rather have Lowe...
  25. Losing this game will be the final nail in the coffin of this season (after losing to Wigan of course.) The board show no signs of acting and they've chosen the slow descent to relegation- I honestly have no idea why.
