  1. "capitalism is just as dangerous as socialism" Soggy 2017. Care to compare the death tolls related to both ideologies to see if your statement holds up? The West is the most developed culture that has ever existed. Capitalism undoubtedly has its problems but it is the most successful system we have and to pretend it is in any way comparable to the horrors that have been wrought by socialism is insane. Par for the course from you though.
  2. Hard to argue with that. It's certainly been an interesting and reasonably successful tactic from labour to try to grab power but it won't do the country much good if they manage to succeed next time.
  3. I met Sam Gallagher in a strip club in Budapest last year. Nice bloke.
  4. Not sure how true that is. Socialism is dangerous because it always looks good on paper and in theory. People will vote for it because it offers hope and positivity with little thought for the long term consequences. If labour do actually get in eventually under corbyn then we will see socialism in action and the consequences could be disastrous. I hope the Tories manage to sort themselves out by then or preferably another party pops up that is worth voting for but I'm not holding my breath.
  5. Meh. Could have said the same thing when poch left but that turned out OK.
  6. Agree with that sadly and I voted leave. This fudge has the potential to cause a car crash brexit and I'd rather stay in despite disliking the EU.
  7. Farage never said that. It was Boris and co.
  8. Also those silly people who denigrate voters by claiming they only ever listen to the sun and can't think for themselves.
  9. At least Philip Davies won his seat back.
  10. Not sure how this would leave brexit. To be honest if we have a coalition with jezza as pm then I'd rather stay in.
  11. Oh god this could be worst case scenario
  12. Superb. Some total c*nts in charge by tomorrow and the takeover by our club of lander as well!
  13. Because he's calling him that because of how he is acting rather than because he voted for a political party he didn't like.
  14. This sums it up for me.
  15. I agree with that. May will only win because she isn't quite as awful as Labour under corbyn. It's a sad indictment of the system.
  16. In what world is the current Labour government anywhere close to the previous ones?
  17. Not to mention their ideology which is to destroy those at the top in service of those at the bottom- which never actually works. Both parties have terrible flaws and I don't like either but Labour would actually destroy the economy with their fantasy economics and the politics of envy.
  18. What a delightful chap you are simply because someone has a different political opinion to you. This attitude is generally why the far left is despised. I echo the thoughts of others- momentum will probably riot tonight why underlines the type of people they are.
  19. I have a problem with extremist Islam and I consider some of the teachings of Islam to be objectionable. This does not by any means mean that I have a problem with all Muslims. If this were the case I would have a problem with my wife's uncle which I do not. Your views are laughable not because you don't know any Muslims but because you dismiss the views of those who do and pretend that you know better. You are entitled to a view on Muslims and Islam despite not knowing any but don't try and pretend that your opinion is more valid than people who have actual relationships and experiences of others in the Islamic faith because you appear to be an arrogant leftist, safe to virtue signal about how morally superior you are in your ivory tower with no idea of what you are talking about. Word of advice and I know it's hard for you but please at least attempt not to lump everyone who disagrees with you in together, it really makes you look foolish.
  20. Quite clear what he meant. You have made statements with no evidence to back them up trying to discredit myself and others. He was returning the favour.
  21. It's the annual alpine meltdown thread. If anything it's a bit late this summer.
  22. Hmmmm....... Not sure if that's true but if it is that's pretty explosive.
  23. Seems there was something in this- stepping down due to ill health.
  24. Clearly not many will agree with Alpine's annual meltdown thread but I do think the club could be a little bit more honest about this dance we do every summer. It's a bit insulting to our intelligence to suggest that this year will be any difference from the previous summers. We will be selling multiple players again and they could be a bit more honest about what our model actually is rather than saying "this year is different, there won't be a lot of sales." It erodes trust with the fans.
  25. Guess we will see wont we. I know what my money is on.
