  1. Disgusted by virtue signallers like Allen using this tragedy for political capital but the anger of those directly affected is much more understandable even if it seems rather premature to start rioting against the government. As I write I see May has announced an aid package for local rehousing so it seems the riots at the town hall were rather unwarranted.
  2. And now inevitably we get protests in Kensington with idiots like lily Allen whipping anti tory sentiment up and no doubt this will be looked at with glee by the likes of Mcdonnell. Quite frankly I can see why May could have distanced herself from the public if there was concern that things could turn nasty. I hope that the residents are allowed to stay in the area and that a full public enquiry is concluded with clear answers about what went wrong. I also hope that this sort of thing doesn't escalate because it does no one any good.
  3. To be fair, being touchy feely and hugging those affected isn't a particularly brilliant image either for someone who is supposed to project an image of leadership. I do accept though that May has a problem with seeming to be detached.
  4. Nit being photographed hugging a voter doesn't demonstrate a lack of empathy. I would suggest that corbyn using this tragedy to try to further his political agenda by making it about the houses of millionaires who have nothing to do with this is just as poor as anything may has done during this.
  5. On another forum I go on there is one of the firefighters on there. He reckons the number of dead could reach three figures which is horrible. He did though say that fires from white goods are a lot more common than people think.
  6. Well then you can recognise the problem of unions that are too powerful. It would be strikes every few weeks.
  7. Indeed. Lenn mclusky needs replacing.
  8. It wasn't his fault, it just feels less authentic when there's someone else translating or when the manager is speaking in faltering English. When you compare it to koeman who was cracking jokes and being sarcastic it does give a sense of their personality more which was definitely missing a bit this year. Would be interesting to know if the players felt a similar way though I guess that didn't phase them with Pochettino.
  9. I know it's a very minor thing, but it would be nice to have a manager who can speak good English. Always more interesting I feel to listen to a press conference or interview where it's not the same basic answers and broken English. Just a small thing but I do think it helps build a connection with the fans as well.
  10. Saint David spoke to me on the phone and was bigging up his involvement in it all. I'm sure he was duped but he wanted the recognition when it was happening so he had to be prepared to accept the ridicule when it all turned out to be a hoax.
  11. Well yes but that's football for you! If we can win a cup at some point then I'll pretty much be satisfied whoever is in charge.
  12. Almost certainly because they were lining someone else up behind the scenes.
  13. Can't say I'm upset. The football was dire at times and he didn't have much of a spark. It felt like a chore going to home games on many occasions. Still, I thought he wasnt too bad. Now let's go for someone ambitious like koeman again.
  14. Anyone remember briefcase Barry beardall? And Mickey fialka? Those were crazy times.
  15. A couple of years ago lenn mcluskey was interviewed on the radio in the middle of a strike. He was asked at what point he would be happy for his members. His reply was that he would never be satisfied and would always fight for his members. That sums up the mindset of many at the top of the unions because it is in their interest to be in a perpetual state of war as it keeps them in a job. It isn't about recognising that unions have a right to exist, it's about the effect of giving them too much power because of people with the thinking of lenn in charge. And I know loads of students voted Labour because they wanted free tuition- an absolutely idiotic thing to pro is in the current financial climate (although I favour free tuition fees for jobs that we actually need like the sciences etc not Mickey mouse subjects like women's studies.)
  16. Of course but the perception was that Labour weren't getting into power. I know many who voted Labour as a protest vote whilst thinking they had no chance of getting in.
  17. I shouldn't have to state it because it's really obvious but not everyone who voted Labour actually wanted them to run the country.
  18. Oh yes free lunches and sprinkler systems was exactly what I was objecting to and nothing to do with the politics of envy, unchecked union power and racking up a ton of new debt. You got me.
  19. If anyone was negligent then they should be dealt with. A few hours after an event like this is not the time for political point scoring.
  20. I saw that. Any politician of whatever political persuasion trying to make points like that over something like this is pretty disgusting. Particularly so soon after the event.
  21. Thanks pal but as someone who routinely embarrasses themselves on here I'm not sure you're in any position to judge.
  22. Socialism for the win!
  23. Indeed. I spoke to him in on the phone about ten years ago where he told me his story about having a saintsfc feeder club in major cities around the world. I laughed at the time but he was pretty convincing! Weird to think how it turned out eventually.
  24. Why not take a trip to Venezuela and ask for their opinion of socialism.
  25. To be fair we were told that with lls, Saint David and the monkey chicken petting zoo. I'll believe it when I see it.
