  1. Why did you bother to sign up here?
  2. I have to say there does seem to be a big difference between Wanyama, mane, Jay rod, lovren etc and what we have done so far
  3. The living wage is supposed to penalise big companies who pay less than they can afford. It also has the unfortunate effect of screwing smaller businesses who can't afford to pay any more without a big increase in their prices. The government have fixed it so that largely nurseries can't even change their prices in order to cope with this change. The whole thing is a mess and extremely badly thought out. I'm not sure how nurseries will be able to continue and make any sort of money to survive.
  4. Sell or lose, the question is still relevant.
  5. Since when? How many top players have they lost? At the rate of 3 or 4 a season?
  6. Again though, it shouldn't be a choice of go and support a top 4 team or accept we are going to sell off a load of players every summer. Other teams manage not to do this, look at the likes of Everton and Swansea.
  7. I haven't seen another club lose players at the rate we have. Look at Swansea.
  8. I think we have to accept that our challenge is to beat the teams directly below us. We can never compete financially or on transfers with the bigger teams who finished above us last year. Our challenge is to beat the swanseas of this world consistently.
  9. Living wage is idiotic. Nursery schools around the country will be forced to close. Every 3 and 4 year old will be given 30 hours which removes a huge amount of income. "free" nursery places aren't free currently, they are subsidised by fee paying children. So there's a huge reduction in income and nurseries are then forced to give everyone a pay rise as well as pay business rates, fire safety, all bills etc. The figures don't add up.
  10. People will laugh but I do think we could do with rediscovering our killer instinct a bit. We seem happy to accept our place in the football hierarchy which is fine but would be nice to get a few surprises every now and again.
  11. Will be interesting to see how our defence gets on now. We will likely be starting the season with just Fonte at the back and without Morgan in dm.
  12. No it isn't. That doesn't happen to any other team every season. Saying that's how football works is a cop out. Are Swansea losing arguably their best three players every season?
  13. Are we going to keep losing three of our top players a year? It's going to be incredibly hard to keep being successful if that is the case. Mane, Wanyama and Jay rod to leave next year?
  14. Of course we can't be sure, but this event suggests that we were complacent and stood around whilst spurs stole in and took him away. Maybe if we were doing it again we would have gone in harder earlier.
  15. For me the main disappointment is the message this signing would have sent out. We had a great chance to do something big but we got gazumped when we were in pole position and primed to agree a deal. Such a shame.
  16. Haven't seen that this year tbf. Koeman has generally been a lot more realistic about our place in the football hierarchy.
  17. Yeah it's gutting. Particularly because he could easily have been ours and seemingly wanted to come. What a shame and I hope we learn from this in the future.
  18. Does sound like we dropped a bollock here. I reckon that could have been why the legal guy left.
  19. Not really. It's an internet messageboard. It's not like he's walking round London shouting about it with a megaphone.
  20. Juanmi isn't the same player as Elia. Plus we need greater strength in depth this year for Europa. I'm confident we will bring in another attacking player.
  21. Nah. We clearly want a Elia replacement.
  22. Best time to get an injury tbh.
  23. Probably a load of players to choose from and then koeman can give recommendations based on his knowledge. Seems like a good idea to me.
  24. Anyone know anything about him?
  25. It seems that's some clubs don't have the same principles as us. Ultimately it doesn't matter if we are morally in the right if it means we miss out on the player.
