Sadly you are wrong. As recently as last week he was stating his preference for British players over Johnny foreigner.
-
To be fair, sadoldgit has a bit of a xenophobic past so posts lauding a hard working brit over a foreigner wouldn't surprise me
-
Really really poor if we sign no one and fail to address a glaring weakness in the team. Insipid and uninspiring season ahead if that's the case.
-
I assume you are joking as that's clearly an overreaction but I think fans would be justified to feel some anger if the club say one thing abd then do another again. Much easier to swallow if he doesn't go to Liverpool.
-
Fans will be angry if he goes to Liverpool. I hope not.

Wow. BIG respect to Nancy Pelosi for this statement- someone I disagree with on almost everything but for this she should be heartily applauded. http://www.democraticleader.gov/newsroom/82917/ -
The reality is that barely anyone has been as you describe. The main fannies are the ones screeching like hysterical tarts because some people are discussing the vvd situation. People have different views about selling or not selling him shock horror. It's a forum, people look at things in different ways.
-
Everyone knows that a six year contact will mean they have to stay a minimum of two seasons. Vvd should have realised that when he signed the contract.
-
Agree with that, the main fear is that an accident occurs or someone on either side misinterprets somethong and it triggers a war. Neither side wants a war.
-
Based on what? In reality they are probably all mates and don't really care that much. Unless a player speaks out and is openly hostile, I can't see any evidence that any of the players would be "angry". It is after all only a game of football.
-
Or just the typical sort of thing a player says. Glad he will be staying at least one more season though.

The people at the very top in Korea don't believe that lie, their primary motivation is to keep the regime in power whilst continuing to appear strong and self sufficient. This display of strength helps achieve that and as someone else said, if they actually wanted to provoke a war then they would have done. Interesting that they chose to fire a missile over Japan rather than anywhere near Guam like they threatened. Everything they do is very calculated even if it looks like they are aggressive and off the cuff.
-
Keep vvd, sign a decent attacking player and we will have a happy fanbase.
-
Where has this theo story come from?
-
[emoji23] but it's not xenophobic when he says it, it's a valid critique of the team.
-
I would do if Russia has a long long history of bluster and this sort of thing. It's a show of defiance from north Korea, if they wanted to actually provoke something then it wouldn't be hard to do but thata the last thing they want because they aren't stupid.
-
What have they actually done? Fired a few crappy missiles and hit no one so far. It's all bluster which will die down after the war games.
-
Buzz off you troll. I said if we don't have any more funds for a big name signing and I have no idea what the new owners are like so that may he the case.
-
Can't imagine anyone is going to pay 80 million. He isn't worth that amount.
-
That's a good point. If though we genuinely don't have any more cash for reinforcements, would be interesting to see what people think about selling so we can buy a quality attacking player or two.
-
That's true but I do wonder how much sway the new owners would have on the decision. I reckon we may force him to stay until January when he will be sold and probably won't have played for us again. That may cost us some cash but it also sends out an important message that we won't be bullied into selling our best players. Watch the club sell him to Liverpool now and make us look like fools!
-
Nothing surprises me with the club but I find it hard to believe that we would have been so categoric about him staying if we were going to just sell him shortly after, particularly to Liverpool. If we do sell I imagine they will say something like it was the managers decision to sell and that we didn't have to.
-
I agree. He still has potential to improve but right now no way should he be getting the extended run in the team without his place being under threat.
-
Is this one of those weird stories that passes through the saintsweb machine and becomes fact? Since when did mane do that? It certainly wasn't mentioned at the time- he was superb for us.
-
Yep. I get that we are trying to make a statement but if he refuses to play until we sell him in January for a reduced sum then we haven't really won in that situation.
