  1. Well then you can recognise the problem of unions that are too powerful. It would be strikes every few weeks.
  2. Indeed. Lenn mclusky needs replacing.
  3. It wasn't his fault, it just feels less authentic when there's someone else translating or when the manager is speaking in faltering English. When you compare it to koeman who was cracking jokes and being sarcastic it does give a sense of their personality more which was definitely missing a bit this year. Would be interesting to know if the players felt a similar way though I guess that didn't phase them with Pochettino.
  4. I know it's a very minor thing, but it would be nice to have a manager who can speak good English. Always more interesting I feel to listen to a press conference or interview where it's not the same basic answers and broken English. Just a small thing but I do think it helps build a connection with the fans as well.
  5. Saint David spoke to me on the phone and was bigging up his involvement in it all. I'm sure he was duped but he wanted the recognition when it was happening so he had to be prepared to accept the ridicule when it all turned out to be a hoax.
  6. Well yes but that's football for you! If we can win a cup at some point then I'll pretty much be satisfied whoever is in charge.
  7. Almost certainly because they were lining someone else up behind the scenes.
  8. Can't say I'm upset. The football was dire at times and he didn't have much of a spark. It felt like a chore going to home games on many occasions. Still, I thought he wasnt too bad. Now let's go for someone ambitious like koeman again.
  9. Anyone remember briefcase Barry beardall? And Mickey fialka? Those were crazy times.
  10. A couple of years ago lenn mcluskey was interviewed on the radio in the middle of a strike. He was asked at what point he would be happy for his members. His reply was that he would never be satisfied and would always fight for his members. That sums up the mindset of many at the top of the unions because it is in their interest to be in a perpetual state of war as it keeps them in a job. It isn't about recognising that unions have a right to exist, it's about the effect of giving them too much power because of people with the thinking of lenn in charge. And I know loads of students voted Labour because they wanted free tuition- an absolutely idiotic thing to pro is in the current financial climate (although I favour free tuition fees for jobs that we actually need like the sciences etc not Mickey mouse subjects like women's studies.)
  11. Of course but the perception was that Labour weren't getting into power. I know many who voted Labour as a protest vote whilst thinking they had no chance of getting in.
  12. I shouldn't have to state it because it's really obvious but not everyone who voted Labour actually wanted them to run the country.
  13. Oh yes free lunches and sprinkler systems was exactly what I was objecting to and nothing to do with the politics of envy, unchecked union power and racking up a ton of new debt. You got me.
  14. If anyone was negligent then they should be dealt with. A few hours after an event like this is not the time for political point scoring.
  15. I saw that. Any politician of whatever political persuasion trying to make points like that over something like this is pretty disgusting. Particularly so soon after the event.
  16. Thanks pal but as someone who routinely embarrasses themselves on here I'm not sure you're in any position to judge.
  17. Socialism for the win!
  18. Indeed. I spoke to him in on the phone about ten years ago where he told me his story about having a saintsfc feeder club in major cities around the world. I laughed at the time but he was pretty convincing! Weird to think how it turned out eventually.
  19. Why not take a trip to Venezuela and ask for their opinion of socialism.
  20. To be fair we were told that with lls, Saint David and the monkey chicken petting zoo. I'll believe it when I see it.
  21. "capitalism is just as dangerous as socialism" Soggy 2017. Care to compare the death tolls related to both ideologies to see if your statement holds up? The West is the most developed culture that has ever existed. Capitalism undoubtedly has its problems but it is the most successful system we have and to pretend it is in any way comparable to the horrors that have been wrought by socialism is insane. Par for the course from you though.
  22. Hard to argue with that. It's certainly been an interesting and reasonably successful tactic from labour to try to grab power but it won't do the country much good if they manage to succeed next time.
  23. I met Sam Gallagher in a strip club in Budapest last year. Nice bloke.
  24. Not sure how true that is. Socialism is dangerous because it always looks good on paper and in theory. People will vote for it because it offers hope and positivity with little thought for the long term consequences. If labour do actually get in eventually under corbyn then we will see socialism in action and the consequences could be disastrous. I hope the Tories manage to sort themselves out by then or preferably another party pops up that is worth voting for but I'm not holding my breath.
  25. Meh. Could have said the same thing when poch left but that turned out OK.
