Would people expect us to catch Stoke in 10th? Probably no-one. We are 7 points behind them and our form is better. QPR are 7 points behind us, but their form is worse than ours. Will be interesting see how their new team plays - heard their £100k / week defender say he is not match fit yet.

I would rather we didn't sign anyone rather than an over priced panic signing. We are good enough to stay up. Without spending silly money how many of Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Forren, Shaw, Lallana, Schneiderlin, Cork, Ramirez, Lambert could we improve on? Back up is harder - need to be realistic, for example Fox is probably pretty good for 2nd choice for bottom half team. Of names linked, maybe the Argentine CM is possible and better than Cork?? Would like better option off bench than de ridder - is that Mayuka or Lee, or someone like Philips?? Main reason happy.... If we are to believe NC, if we stay up, he wants European challenging team. The time to sign players good enough for that is the summer, not now signing players around our current level who won't be good enough for NC's plans. Happy if first team stay together and no-one added, but new signing can be exciting!!

What you are forgetting, in November, when you thought we were already down we were bottom. After 10 games QPR had same points - now 7 behind (7) Villa had 5 more - now 3 behind ( Wigan had 7 more - now 3 behind (10) Reading had 2 more - now 3 behind (5) Newcastle had 10 more - now 1 ahead (9)

Your target is to be 17th best side. Since cork returned we have played 13 games, are 10th best in prem, hardly couple of good results. Raising game against top teams? You are also wrong here, we have performed better against bottom half teams, in fact we are 12th in the season's table when just using results against bottom half sides. I'm pleased you recognise strength of first 11. I agree that we could be improved with a stronger sub winger than due ridder. Possibly this could be Lee or mayuka, but they are yet to show that.
