  1. Sorry didn't answer as didn't see relevance. Still don't but reckon all, as is NA doing well in premiership. Not sure I can put this any simpler but will try. In prem league you need a squad of players able to perform at that level. If teams stay in prem they are likely to have a deep squad, built over years of either big signing, free transfers but established on high wages, or quality youth players staying with them as they are premiership. A team playing two years in league 1 then just one year in championship is unlikely to have this. Would fans of other prem sides have swapped their squad with the one we ended last season on? We clearly needed to add to it....more than other sides. We spent a few million at time when others were not. That spending did not catch up what was two seasons ago a league one squad (a fact which seems to upset you, delldys and cb). We still have squad valued in relegation places - rather than dell days view that we are a big boy now and NA is crap manager. Sorry if this isn't clear enough but if not let's leave it. I am enjoying NA's management and despite wet beds through out the season the views of NA critics that he was failing and imminent sacking have been proved wrong. Don't think he will be sacked as better manager than DiM. So far NC appears to agree with me
  2. Thanks for the postive comments on my posts. Just wanted to clarify it. I'm not going to get personal, as I have no idea whether the people I am talking about maybe school kids or not very bright etc, so will just correct them. A few posters are getting very confused about the references to us having players who were recently, for two seasons, performing in league 1. The reference to this was to put into context Delldays comments about our summer spending. Is it not clear and obvious that a team, who until recently was playing in lower leagues, would need more money spent on them than a team that has been established in the prem? I made no attempt at a sob story, or to belittle our players. These are facts. Unfortunately a few posters get themselves confused in their own arguement and start thinking it was what I had said! An independant valuation of values of our squads, including the summer spending that has blown delldays away, puts our value in bottom three. Delldays uses money spent to say NA is underperforming..this stat is logical to suggest otherwise. Squad values QPR 96.5m Reading 41m Villa 105m Wigan 67.5m Newcastle 140m Saints 62m Sunderland 105m Other teams just above us much higher than us. I'm not saying this should be the basis of performance (Norwich and Swansea do well) but to go on and on and on and on about our summer spending...perspective?? First time I have been accused of putting our players down! Think you are imagining posts...can't really answer your arguement as wasn't anything I have said or implied sorry. No, just the one - you may find if you post sense someone may agree with you one day! Agree re Norwich - rest covered above. Think above answers your post (****es over your rant ) I have now reflected, and agree with Delldays, you can't live in the past, judging NA by two amazing seasons - its about now. Lets not live on past glories - move on, its about now in prem.... Is NA out of his depth... we beat Villa at their place, lets judge on that....Swansea, WBA, Norwich, Arsenal, Reading, Stoke - all failed to do that. we are 8th in current form Enjoy your season...I am.
  3. Find post when, as we played in league 1, I said any player was prem standard, or should play internationally, and you may a very small, weak point.....otherwise complete nonsense which I'm sure doesn't even convince yourself. Do you really think you can take team playing in league 1 (for two seasons) put it in premiership a year later, replace less than half the team and expect a god given right to be in top half by investing few million in very talented youngsters? those who think because players were rated at lower level (Portsmouth's level!) Fans meant they were good enough to be prem stars do make me laugh.
  4. Every season you deem games 'must win' get dramatic, we lose and still achieve what we need. Point I was making in showing you were way out in your expectations for us under NA, is that the same people are writing him off now. You were wrong, rather than learning and looking at the improvement from when you said he was out of his depth...about here? 11/11/12 http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2012-2013/custom-table You are still saying he can't do it. Did you read links? Our cheap over performing squad?
  5. His prem experience with wba wasn't that impressive and was*sacked. This was with a newly promoted side, but one that had been prem season before. NA has newly promoted side, but one that was league 1 season before. Why would di M do better? Remember just a few months ago likes of dell days and alpine demanded NA's sacking saying we would be adrift at the bottom by new year and he was not a good manager to improve us. This suggests otherwise; http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?42219-Is-our-current-side-being-competitive-in-premier-league Also Dell days moans about our expensive squad under performing. We are using a team half of whom were league 1 players. The value of squad here; http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/premier-league/startseite/wettbewerb_GB1.html Suggests NA has us over performing for squad value. The last two season prove NA is excellent manager. Been watching saints for long time -if offered a swap with any manager, last one who I would even need to pause to think about would be Chris. NA has been head and shoulders above WGS in my opinion (apart from interviews!) The point made that last two seasons don't count is just child like. Of course can't live on past glories for years but writing it off now? Grow up! Those who go, almost universally, rate him highly, sing his name and want him here for duration. You won't here one pundit, ex-pro, journalist doubting his ability. One of most embarrassing things heard for years as saints fan was hearing a radio discussion with a fan slagging him off...to amazement of presenters, then fans from other clubs ringing in to say how good he is! Even at our lowest (before QPR away?) Benali saying he has to stay for season. Been far too many wet beds thus season. Enjoy the journey!!
  6. Luke Shaw signed new contract..signing of the window?
  7. Read up on him, do you realise he was Chelsea manager for only 5 months? Before that was sacked from wba winning one in ten. Easy for those not knowing much about getting excited about the champions league , winning four games in Europe gave Chelsea a great achievement, his wba is more like job he would face here. As said before though, those trophy's and his playing career will attract players
  8. Agree, his record, apart from fa cup and champions league lol!, is not that good. Wba sacked him failing in premiership, replaced with Appleton who did much better, iirc. Big name but probably not as good manager as Nigel. Managers need right club, may come, may do amazing, gut feeling...we would finish higher if we keep NA
  9. We have made impressive offers for both, offered good terms but they don't want to drop down to us. OK, made that up but we just don't know what has happened over last few weeks. Dawson is spurs club capt, first game of 2013 capt of team and scored. Two months ago mail said we had approached with £7.5m offer. Has he turned us down? Huth signed new 3 year contract this season, has been ever present for team in 10th who have let in 8 less goals than Man U. Both are likely to be on high money already. Great options, but wonder if overseas market is more realistic, unless lower sights in England??
  10. Arsenal had won their last four games, scoring nearly 4 goals per game leading up to their visit, think its fair to say they were in form.
  11. Team at start of season wasn't. First change was addition of Yoshida and Ramirez. We have had 16 games since Arsenal away; Saints 18 points Aston Villa 15 Fulham 15 Sunderland 15 Wigan 14 Newcastle 12 Reading 11 QPR 11 The next change was introduction of Shaw and Cork 10 games ago: Saints 14 points WBA 13 West ham 11 Aston villa 10 Sunderland 10 QPR 9 Fulham 8 Wigan 7 Newcastle 6 Reading 4 In both those periods we have the best goal difference. Last 10 games we have conceded less than half the goals Compared to 6 of those!
  12. Surely not, the genius alpine said we can sort these out immediately, agents, sellers, other clubs player cannot control the timing. Or is snow for brains wrong again? Keeping his 100% failure record. Fingers crossed for league one play offs!
  13. Rare compliment from me.... You can't possibly be stupid enough to believe what you write, and continue to write even when constantly proved wrong. You can't possibly still fail to understand transfer windows. I know many think you are a skate on wind up, I don't, I think you support and care about saints. Only explanation I can see is that you enjoy your notoriety and playing pantomime villain...some would call that trolling. Surely this must be it...you can't be that stupid, can you?
  14. !!!! Even by your standards bizarre judgement in the extreme
  15. Every single transfer window NC and NA have moved this club up. Since we signed Ramirez and Yoshida we have not performed as relegation side. Likes of Alpine and Dell days insisted we would so totally adrift by this window if NA wasn't sacked. Instead his management and signings have got us out, just, of bottom three. Its time alpine learnt everyone of his predictions is wrong. Its time that he learnt the basics of football transfer windows and acknowledge no-one has been as successful over the last few. Still this man shows his low intelligence, insight and lack of recognition of the clubs achievements thinking its gone wrong again...when did it go wrong? Whenever threads, like the one him and DD's predicted no points and we did well, or Morgan one where usual drama queens were talking about their conspiracy theories, they moan its gloating and petty...don't moan...learn!!!
  16. Since yoshida and Ramirez came in we are clear of all
  17. How does that compare with our CBs and decent established prem ones?
  18. Yep, NC doesn't know what he is doing. That's why the squad hasn't improved in a single transfer window since his arrival. And why we have started every transfer window lower than we ended the last. Err hang on... That'swrong we have moved forward every single window... Maybe it you thats wrong...as usual!
  19. Since rednapp arrived QPR have 9 points from 8 games...not enough of turn around yet to give them hope (we have 7 from 7). If anyone makes good signings they will have a chance...QPR must have told him he would have money to throw around. We are out of the relegation zone now so have caught up our terrible start. Since arsenal away, when yoshida and Ramirez started playing there have been 16 games, we are 13th, gaining about 6 points more despite playing two less games, than others in bottom 6, we will keep climbing. Last 10 games, decent period for form to even out, we are 10th. Bottom 5 are Newcastle, reading, Wigan, Fulham and west ham.
  20. My guess is that we are not interested in him. The interest in the summer was before we signed Gazza. Gazza has the potential to be a very good keeper but needs developing. It would be strange to have two in that category. This season Gazza has looked like he does have potential but made some silly mistakes. Sounds like Butland is similar but making more mistakes at lower level If we were offered a 32 year old keeper, Celtic and fiorintina experienced, 45 polish caps we would be happy that we are OK for year or so. Having said that 10 minutes in last game I was desperate for a new keeper!! The Nixon comments could easily be, he would say that wouldn't he, knowing won't be proved wrong and saves face. Sure he has mixed success rate not the good some here say!
  21. Newcastle have lost 5 out of the last 6 games. The only victory was a 1-0 home against QPR. They have conceded 18 goals in the last 6 games. They are only 2 points ahead of us with a worse goal difference. Remember how poor our results / goal difference was for the first 1/4 of the season. They have just lost their best player (radio tonight described Ba as their best / most influential player in 10 years) Their next 3 games are against struggling teams, if they lose any / many of them they are in for a relegation battle for the season. Also think Norwich and West Ham are in danger of dropping bit further than they currently are.
  22. Alpine proved right.....must have missed that post! Your assessments predictions are always (well 98%) wrong.

    Artur Boruc

I wonder if, we hadn't yet seen Boruc in a saint's shirt, and we had been only playing Gaza and KD, and were now linked to Boruc, sitting on the bench for Florentina - would people think he is the right type of experienced keeper for us? Wonder if he is still seen as the experienced 1st choice for 12 months until Gaza, or Butland are ready? Ten minutes in yesterday was desperate for us to sign a keeper..... Now reflecting whether he could be OK until Gazza takes over. Reports of butland concern me that he is similar age and ability, possibly less reliable, than Gazza. Not seen enough to personally judge
  24. Usual negative crowd, two you could guess who, saying mistake to sign him, panic buy, only signed for commercial reasons etc. They are almost always wrong with their assessments and predictions
  25. Still think... Safe before end of season Still got funny feeling, as had all season, that we may well finish above west ham.
