reckon he would have been good for a couple, it is boring though

Know its hard when team sits back but can't help wondering how many Lambert would have got tonight? (clearly game is boring as now logged on here instead!)

thanks, little rant helps!

Firstly, sorry for saying we lost... the misery on here convinced me we had! No, I didn't leave early...far too tight to ever do that, need to get my monies worth. It is a shame people aren't enjoying it, of course results effect that. I was away for the Wigan game but enjoyed Man U, Villa, the first half on Sunday and then the exciting come back. Ramirez is a player I look forward to watching. We will lose a lot more games so Wade, Fitz, Alp etc (aka the bed wetters ) will have plenty to moan about. There are issues to be addressed but the independant reporters view on our performance against Man City and Man U and NA's response to the pressure on the Villa game have given me no reason to suspect NA is 'out of his depth'. Think some look at tactics far too superficially. I doubt I see a fraction of what managers see. But when a team is lacking possession, midfield pushing back etc sometimes bolstering midfield at expense of a forward can be attacking. We are not going to be a tight 1-0 side (even if we were there would be odd results like Arsenal - cup final season) but if we are staying up, would much rather was with open attacking play and scoring loads. Of course we can hope to do that with better defending as well. Find its strange that Fitz calls a post saying don't know how we will do as it is early in the season a propaganda exercise (then starts a propaganda thread ) think he is getting too much like his alpine buddy...understand its hard when you can't even enjoy a great winning streak like couple of years ago cos it will end sometime, must be really depressing for you now! getting bit worried about your intense interest in my postings As he is obsessed with my postings a summary for Fitz Still enjoying and proud to support saints. Proud of the last two years achievement. Proud of the young manager taking us forward, happy to be different. Proud we are seen as ball playing attacking side not WHU. Proud of our youth and players like Lallana, Lambert and Gaston. Looking forward to games Looking forward to visiting Anfield a ground I had never got around to see as kept thinking will do it next season - not making that mistake this season! I am not embarassed by our start, nor by empty seats... what I am embaressed by it fans of other teams coming on here, knowing the amazing success NA has had for us in two years, having got us into premiership, having ridiculously hard start but outside of relegation zone, probably seen us play Man U off the park for 80 minutes, ...and seeing discussion about his future, his replacement, polls on sacking him. Pathetic childlike reaction and embarrassing.

Am I alone in still not knowing how we will do this season? And thinking its far too early to call for the manager's head? 7 games is always very early to look at the season....the last 7 games tell you far more! We have had a very hard start. After 7 games we have scored 12, bettered only by the top 5 plus Fulham. If we can score that readily against top sides I can't see us struggling for goals...often the reason teams get relegated. Last year only Man U, Man City and Chelsea managed to match or better 12 in their first 7. We are 4th from bottom. After 7 WBA were 4th from bottom. They had lost at home to Man U, lost at home to stoke, drawn at home to fulham. WBA finished 10th. We have only just started to see benefits of new CB pairing and Ramirez after their signings and international window. Of course a team getting relegated will start slowly - but so will one comfortably mid-table. The moaning about subs often sound like kids looking superficially wanting their bestest player on cos he will score...not if we don't get the ball he wont. Saturday could have been very different if the CBs could have stayed together (let alone if Ramierez played, much bigger loss imho that Berbatov). An unlucky OG changes things hugely. If Cork had been fit and had come on instead of Guly...etc We lost, we are a newly promoted side, new players, excellent manager. Personally, gut feeling is we will be comfortably ok. But reckon its another 3 or 4 games before we will really see which way season will go. I have been embarrassed by how quickly fans turned against players and manager on here. Surprised Fonte had nerce to turn up!!
-
still reckon best since Hoddle - yes that includes WGS
-
Disagree. We were struggling before Lambert went off. We were pegged back with little possession, looked like Fulham would score and we needed to change. Chaplow / Guly were to change shape and bolster midfield options. Don't think substitutions were why we conceded - think we would have done anyway - possibly done worse. Only issues I would personally see as more up for debate J Rod or Lambert, Lallana or Puncheon. Hard call, even sat under no pressure here not sure NA got it wrong. If he was fit Jack Cork would have come on for Puncheon, - reckon could have been very different. So much more to being a manager than picking favorite players, you need to look deeper at shape of game.

had an enthusiastic appreciation going off at villa game. think has been fully accepted by crowd.

you've got to laugh at the ignorant childish tantrums and panic on here!! specatacularly failed to reinforce?? England U21 right back, Japanese international CB and Polish international GK - maybe not as much as we ideally want or need but hardly failing to reinforce!! lol tell me, as you talk in facts, how much was loan for? what will it be used for? How is our cash flow? Has the family back gone? which defenders did we under bid for? Or could it be, you know f all and enjoy a good cry? -

I hope people managed to control their anxiety and get some sleep? my suggestions; discuss options, chat about it, but ffs accept you know f all about running football club, major company, football finances, what cortese thinks, the family's plans or finances, details of this loan. fortunately, the bloke making the decisions knows all of these. stop making up details to fit hysterical negative agendas. the only relevance at all this info may have on me.... can't wait to watch Gaston again in few days, if this brought it over the line, great! -

well said. some ignorant crap on here mixed with pathetic panic. don't expect any explanation. how much has cortese ever said about our finances? still gives people todays moan!! -
lost count of how many of your must win games we lost in our two promotion seasons!
-
not sh1t, just nothing special, as said last season..we will finish above them. Think he did the job last year - but with players he had, and then signings - he was lucky to scrape through and keep his job. signing numerous "star forwards" saying how wouldn't be interested in Sharp as has Maynard (who??) then saying all his squad was missing was Lambert - a league 1 £1m forward! No, don't rate him, didn't 12 months ago and he looks worse year later. NA any day please.
-
think we will stay up with some to spare. We will let in loads of goals. We will get most points at home by far. no need to panic yet how many points to stay up..39 ish? 12 more wins at home? Even if nothing away (reckon will get something away - QPR, WHU, Reading, Villa, Norwich, Wigan, Swansea?? could easily see 6 points somewhere there). So just need ten home wins How about Reading QPR West Ham Norwich Swansea Fulham Stoke Sunderland Newcastle and then Arsenal! Enjoy the ride!!
-
why? to finish to 6 yes, but to survive or be mid/lower table you would expect us to lose most away games particularly against top half sides. And also at home to top third sides
-
Home games are where season will be won or lost. Beat 13 teams at home and won't go far wrong.

clubs management had earnt us trusting in them, but excellent summer for a newly promoted club has given us decent chance of moving forward: young international capt CB England u21 full back international keeper England u21 cover, long term back up for RL Pace added with young international forward, Africans nations top scorer experienced international capt for CM and potentially best player for a generation.

yes, two thick attention seekers spring to mind
-
imho a very basic / superficial understanding of football if thats what you believe. Still don't know how we will do but feel those assessing on first four games, writing off Adkins, his signings etc are bunch of negative drama queens knowing little about football. Those comments that didn't sign any defenders etc. And those two idiots slagging off Ramirez signing! **** Wits!

stupid post of day award....

The quality of the management team
-
meant it on this thread, but suppose it fits other one as well!! Just two years ago we had just appointed a new manager. The league table two years ago - 22nd in league 1. We had played 7, winning one game. We were lower in the country's football ladder than Tranmere, Harlepool, Brentford etc. Two years later, after close defeats to the Manchester clubs - realistically although we gained no points we did better than most established premiership sides did in those fixtures last season. A score away to Arsenal which matches Strachan's, who some think was great, performance with an established premiership side. And a defeat to Wigan who finished last season like this H Wolves Won 3-2 A Blackburn Won 0-1 H Newcastle Won 4-0 A Fulham Lost 2-1 A Arsenal Won 1-2 H Man Utd Won 1-0 A Chelsea Lost 2-1 H Stoke Won 2-0 A Liverpool Won 1-2 Time to look for a new manager? No.
