Think club will be looking for either back up for rL, such as Cov bloke, or one for future.c oncerns with Sharp and Maynatd -will they fit into squad spirit and our playing style? seems a strange approach to me, not happy with winning as you feel it is going to end, not appreciating a classy midfielders performance controlling the game against a decent in form side as you are not convinced. Not sure what performances you would be happy with? Each to their own, we are all different and have different opinions but personally feel this is one of the most exciting periods with saints since the early 80's era with the exception of the one man show of MLT for a few years. Morgan was easily MOM for me yesterday.

Christmas 2010 Norwich, 5 place. 36 points. 8 points behind QPR, 4 points behind Cardiff in 2nd/ Christmas 2011 Saints, 1st place, 44 points, 3 points clear of 3rd. We have started the season much better than Norwich did last season. Perhaps they should have used our pre-season and transfer's timings policy?

What has he done wrong? Loads slating him but the radio interviews and twitter stuff has always been positive for him. He is a player who tries something others don't - a decisive pass, beating his man or shooting from distance. Didn't work for him at the beginning of the season and got some needless sitck. If he has upset NA or other players I would be wary. I have no problem with the fact that he wants to play now we are top - if Sharp now signed for us many on here would be overjoyed - he didn't in the summer but would we moan that he, or Rodrigues or Sharp are only joining us cos we are top? No. If confident and on form probably a better option, to break teams down, than Guly or Chaplow.

Chaplow has only started 8 times in the league so far. Lambert quite comfortably for me

with 12 home games left - win majority of those and we won't need too much away for 2nd. Home form keeps going we should be comfortable - if not still decent chance

What does 'need' mean in this context? Is our team / management failing to match other teams so far this season and 'need' signings? No. Does the current squad 'need' improving to guarantee promotion? Of course. Does the squad 'need' improving to convince neutrals that we are likely to go up? No. Are we weak in any position? I don't think so - if Seaborn and Jaidi are unlikely to be fit then probably need one more CB. Should we sign a player if the club can attract one, in any position, that would improve the team and fit in? Yes - as we saw with Fox, probably one position that no-one felt we were weak in but Adkins saw an opportunity to improve. Are we top of the league due to good management or luck? Only an idiot who knows **** all about football would say a team who is top (one point clear and better goal difference) and 11 points miles better goal difference than 7th is there by luck. We are one game away from half way through the season. We will be top or second. Luck? Clueless!

and Norwich won 13 home games - we only need to win 3 more out of our last 12 home games to match that! we do not need to match, not even close, to their away form to go up with the points we are getting at home.

Yes, Norwich had an excellent start in the Championship, for a team just up from league 1. It set them up for automatic promotion. At Christmas, after 22 games they had 36 points. We will have 43, 44 or hopefully 46 - so maybe 10 points ahead of their total after only 22 games.

other teams will have good spells - like Cardiff now. if we keep our home form close to how it is we will be ok for promotion - good to look at other results but too early to worry about them! only team who has started as well as us and not gone up in recent years was Cardiff!

every team would like better players. there is a strong case to say we need them less than every single other club in this league as we are top.

depends on your view as current. last 6 games have given 10 points - our worst run this season I think. If we carry on that low level of performance when, according to some we have imploded, we will finish on about 85 points and go up. Due to great start we are only likely to need 10 points from each 6 games. As, on average, those 10 games will include 3 home - winning most at home will get us up. Very, very achievable.

I don't think our recent form will continue - I believe it this is our poorer run. Even this current form, 10 points from 6 games, would be enough for promotion. Win most of our home games and we will be up. Few teams with our start fail. Infact not many teams match our start. Most people will expect us to get promoted. Will be interesting to see where we can improve in January. I would like to see a fast direct CF

How much do we need to spend? Impossible to say. I recall in the summer (think it was DellDays and someone else, sorry if remembered wrongly) some in awe of West Ham and Leicester due to their expensive squads. Leicester were throwing money around (personally wasn't convinced any/many would have made our first 11). I bet if we had signed some 'names' in the summer and were currently top, fans would be happy with our ambition and backing of the manager. Because we didn't people are still doubting whether the club are showing sufficient ambition. I would be happy with any signing, who fits in with the club ethos and improved the team / squad. However, I see very few areas where we need to strengthen. If Adkins can strenthen, with his type of player, for the right money I would not be surprised to see him signing a player for any position - the Fox signing being a good example. Unless Seaborn and Jaidi are out for a long time, the only position I think is looking light is another style of forward - a young energetic direct forward - think we have plenty with guile and skill. Only way board and manager can be judged is the table...hopefully will answer any doubts!

This poster usually moans that we drop points and haven't beaten top teams - we are top against top half sides so can't use that one. We are top, end of arguement! If we go on a terrible run then it maybe worth considering.

after 20 top with 42 last year, after 20 qpr were top with 41 year before Newcastle top with 45 Don't worry, will go up after winning all home games, don't need away points

personally would be happy if we keep our current form going rather than re-discovering early season form. last 6 games, 15 points, 2.5 per game. Current form would see us on 110 points -hope we continue to be found out like we are currently!
