politely ask for a word, ask him where the investment went? ask him how did Lowe convince him that he was a better man than Crouch, to such an extent that he was willing to take the obvious criticism following him hounding Lowe out in the first place.
-
Wilde is the most significant figure in our future
-
its a company's official site -they aren't going to moan about their product and say we have given up!
-
perhaps we ought to have a sticky of those who claim ITK and end up looking silly! who would be on it?
-
There were many comments on here about how good the support at Reading was
-
anyone getting back to their sources for updates?
-
if we do badly/deteriorate over next few games then I will not be impressed with him. if we win then I will. I won't right him off due to 1) being appointed by Lowe (that is a random reference as to whether you are good or crap) 2) because, probably when asked, he said he was pleased that players didn't leave in window.
-
we all know he will only go if 1) Wilde changes his mind 2) new investor comes in 3) Crouch comes up with the requested £6m
-
agree some poor (not getting in team or loans sent back) some inconsistent (Scheiderlin) but think Saeijs is a good signing, and Holmes.
-
must be a funny link, sends some people to an article when he insults fans and others to an innocuous one where he says its good that he didn't lose players in the transfer window (unusual I know, most managers would never say they are pleased to keep player!)
-
what is the cr*p in that article? where is the swipe at us? Not a single word- that's why it is a witch hunt. I am not filled with optimism at all either. I did think Swansea was an improvement on Doncaster but he has a lot more to do to make me think he is any good. Still think any manager appointed needs more than 3 games, if you don't fair enough. 2nd from bottom is sh1t, and if thread was 2nd bottom is sh1t I would agree its fair comment. But to slate a manager for saying he is pleased his better player were not sold when most thought (and nearly all on here) that they would is OTT, blinkered negativity.
-
the ugly inside forum used to have posts like this from skates -not saying for a minute these are skates as I know we are all saints fans but this looking for criticism and negative is getting totally OTT - there is plenty out there already without witch hunts and paranoid conspiracies!
-
and again -its still perfectly reasonable
-
longer than 3 games!
-
bizarre thread -manager slated unless he only give yes/no comments
-
totally reasonable. People made their minds up on him before seeing how he gets on and slag off everything he says. I will judge on performance -jurys out.

http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/samgreen/blog/2009/02/05/southampton_are_suffering_but_is_there_an_alternative_to_rupert_lowe Southampton go to Watford on Saturday for a relegation scrap few would have predicted last August. Mr Unpopular: But who could replace Rupert Lowe at If the Saints lose, they could find themselves five points below the dreaded dotted line, having played at least one more game than most of the rivals. I won't say their supporters will then be fearing the worst, because they quite clearly have been doing so for some time. They have been making the news this week by staying away (setting a new record for the lowest league crowd at St Mary's, beating the mark set just last October) and by taking their frustrations to the city centre last Saturday. Between 300 and 1,000 fans protested before the 2-2 draw with Swansea, depending on whether you believe the police or the organisers. Strength of feeling in the city was reflected by some of the furious responses on the Daily Echo website, which was criticised for even reporting that, as is the norm, the two bodies had offered different figures. Chairmen Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde have borne the brunt of the fury, the latter the subject of a death threat. Certainly, as the club have come to resemble an everything-must-go, closing-down store, those at the top must take responsibility. For his part, Lowe is adamant the club's difficulties are largely the result of mismanagement by those who took over after his initial spell was ended in 2006, under the chairmanship of Leon Crouch. But whoever you believe, the playground politics that have engulfed the St Mary's boardroom in recent years have been pretty shameful. And let us not forget, Lowe is the man who was apparently considering handing managerial duties over to Sir Clive Woodward and Simon Clifford. Judging by the 'Wotte joke' banners on display on Saturday, the choice of Dutch coach Mark Wotte to replace his countryman Jan Poortvliet as manager is not popular. With administration looming, few doubt Wotte is simply the cheap option. But it is important that Southampton's fans ensure they direct their frustrations at those they hold responsible off pitch, and get behind those wearing the red and white stripes on the grass. Protest can lead to positive change at a football club, as it did at the club I support, fellow south coasters Brighton. But it can be a long and arduous road. And during the struggle to remove Bill Archer and his cronies from Brighton, the fans backed a team that, under Steve Gritt, overturned an 11-point deficit to escape relegation from the Football League on the final day of the season. Relegation may be starting to look inevitable for Southampton, but nothing is done until it is mathematically confirmed. Another factor to consider is who could replace Lowe and Wilde? It's all very well raging for something to be torn down, but is there a constructive alternative? At Brighton we had **** Knight, who ironically is now a target of some frustrated Albion fans. Is there anyone ready to step in and save Southampton?
-
70/30 chance he will be IMHO
-
snap!
-
heard that! also said something about things being bit relaxed under Jan but training is now more like matches under Wotte
-
what's he doing now?
-
cheers
