    Potential

I think potential is mainly based on what standard players you can attract. The factors which will determine how good the players you get in are 1) money you can pay, fees and salaries - by far the main issue 2) ground / training facilties etc 3) location - (overseas player choosing between moving to Middlesborough or London for example) 4) support you will play in front of 5) recent history of the club (last 4 or 5 years). I have ignored the pulling ability of a good manager as any club could get a good manager - and they will be attracted by much the same thing. We do pretty well in most of those. 1) money, not many seem to have more generous backers (Chelsea / Man City..) Income from crowds - only Leeds and Derby from the championship can beat our league 1 top crowd this season. Only 11 teams in premiership beat it. If we are doing well our support will only be significantly behind Man U, Newcastle, Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Sunderland. We not in debt compared to many of those. We also have a better youth set up to supply first team and to fund other purchases. 2) our ground is probably in the second level behind the bigger stadiums. The training facilities and their location are very good. 3) some players will prefer to live in London, or the north west city areas but again with seafront, forest and closeness to London we are probably more attractive location than midlands or north east. 4) support - as in income. 5) recent history - Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U have great names to attract players. Many teams have been so up and down in recent years that if we are reaching towards our potential we will be just as attractive. for potential 1) Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool, 2) Man City, Newcastle 3) Aston Villa, Saints, Sunderland, Spurs, Everton, Leeds 4) West Ham, Notts For, etc etc

    ...
  3. When do you think first new signing will be announced? Not including existing loan players, or contract extension. Date on OS
  4. Yakubu 28 years old. CCC - this season, 19 appearances, 11 goals and 5 assists/
  5. if we are stronger than a premiership side that is good. It wasn't due to tactics it was due to better squad and better management of that squad. The comparison is they were not good enough to beat us.
  6. talk of BT coming back on here, how about this other one of our forwards returning http://twitpic.com/4x3nru
  7. think we made more changes than them. We stuffed premiership Blackpool.
  8. on level of crowds and therefore income we would sit upper / mid premiership. Guess this would be our natural level, however we have better youth set up than most so 8th prem is very realistic regular level to aim for. 2nd in championship will do for now!
  9. we didn't need CMS
  10. how's that? It his mad rants!
  11. stuck by Barnard and supported him during difficult time. if you are on the bus and want to go where the driver is taking you, you will be looked after, if not get off next stop!
  12. was the Everton player that showed their big spending and ambition Ruddy? Ruddy who made one appearance for Everton in 5 years? I was reading this poster who is usually right!
  13. reckon we would be upper mid table with current squad - hence needing few quality signings to take us up!
  14. lower league signings in the main and we have better starting place (as pointed out many times )
  15. League 1 teams finished 2nd, 7th, 9th. Don't think there is huge gap if you go up strongly (we finished better than any of those) and you have a club of decent structure to cope with bigger games.
  16. we were 9th Christmas this year.
  17. if we can improve - worth doing, however not sure a lot of the signings suggested, or compared with Norwich's are improvement. I hope he builds team around this seasons
  18. not massive, but big achievement considering head start other clubs had and Huddersfield's form
  19. He would not be first choice over current wide players. I think this squad should, and will be added to over the summer. Norwich is an example of a side who came up, after us beating them, we have since strengthened, we had a better last 6 months in league 1 than they had etc - so feel we are less then 12 months behind them. They added numbers, but in the main no big names or established CCC/prem stars. Many of their regulars from league one were used regularly this season. Their biggest signing was a left sided midfielder, who I have seen play loads of times and is not as good as Lallana! I think we will see a few signings of quality and maybe couple of younger squad players.

    FA Cup Stats

    enjoyed City's football today.
  21. bet he is still upset about Adkins being first choice http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Roman-Abramovich-wants-club-legend-Gianfranco-Zola-to-return-to-Chelsea-as-a-member-of-the-coaching-staff-next-season-and-wants-Guus-Hiddink-as-manager-article733979.html
  22. fantasy football continual signings wasn't needed last season despite popular opinion. don't think this squad would finish bottom half without a single addition.
  23. shows why we need little addition to our squad - premiership starter would not be a starter here even if he fitted in
  24. second only to Mother Theresa
