http://www.kumb.com/article.php?id=3374 Shockingly patronising article, my favourite line was............ "West Ham, Newcastle, Everton, Spurs, we could all potentially make that step up into the Champion's League. Southampton, bless them, have to regard every season they don't get relegated as a success".
-
The fact that you actually analysed your postings like this does tell us all we need to know. Very funny though!
-
If you wrote this I can only assume you believe it?? I think you will find though that you post more than 4 times a day on average, I would be surprised if it wasn't more than twice that number [excluding match day threads]. There are certainly a minority of posters that seem to take over and unfortunately they seem to be so dull [ on the whole],so the forum will always be limited by this..

So finishing above Man U is more important than silverware?
croydonsaint replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Totally agree with this guy The result could well have been the same if schniederlin, Rodrigues and say cork had started. Sometimes the other side deserves to win, think we have to get over it and look to west ham -
Credit to Sunderland. Think we are getting ahead of ourselves a bit. Do agree regarding starting 11. Would have expected our best team out on this game. Think this was as much about the selection as the performance. Dont like Poyet as a manager so it irks me greatly to say well done Sunderland you deserved to win today.

Just thought I would answer your questions. 1. No I am not going to commit myself to staying in my job for the next 5 years, [although I probably will] but I am not the owner of S.F.C. The 5 years was an arbitrary figure but under the circumstances now if that is her intention then it would be a very positive thing to make that commitment public 2. If I did have a season ticket I would tear it up 3.Perfectly fair point you make regarding if the bidding gets to 40 million with an academy of replacements but I just feel that if we are to make that next step up surely we should do everything keep these players at any cost. More to the point we would be in a position where these players would not need to move [OK I am being optimistic]

Hey, just thought I should post [now I am back on my 3 posts for the day] First of all I do agree the tone of my op wasn't quite right so perhaps it deserved some of the stick it received. [mind there are some right **** heads on this site] It just feels like we are at a very key cross roads. I always felt that Corteses agenda although coinciding with our aspirations was as much about what was in it for him and it was no surprise when he dropped us cold. With Katharina I feel she is sympathetic to the history of the club she owns and to the fans. So I do feel that if she does not sell and Pocchetino stays we would stand a real chance of being an "outsider" making it into the top 6. At the end of the day I will support saints what ever happens and will watch what unfolds in the coming months with interest.
-
Surely now is the time for Katrina to 1. Come out and unequivocally commit to having no intention selling the club at least in the next 5 years 2. At the same time convince pochettino to sign a new extended contract 3. Make it clear that the likes of Shaw, Chambers etc. will categorically not be sold and if possible extend there contracts. Please! We are at a gateway in my opinion of the real opportunity in the next 2 or 3 years to break in to the top 6 or alternatively if the above does not happen to see us at best be a Premier league 2nd or relegation tier team. I was talking to a Spurs supporter the other day and he was 100% certain that we or for that matter any other team outside the top 7 would never break in to their elite top group. He may be proved right but I would so love to see that total arrogance and certainty of these "elite" clubs fans questioned and shoved down there throats............ With a period of stability and continuing improvement it can happen!

Post Match Reaction: SAINTS 0-3 Chelsea
croydonsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Its taken chelsea over 10 years to get to where they are now and God knows how many millions. They are a much stronger team than we are and today showed that. I am not expecting us to do better than 9th this season and would be disapointed if we ended up beneath 10th. This is a very tough league and will need a lot more money spent if we are to get any where close to breaking into the top 6 in the next few seasons. Disappointing result but still feeling optomistic for the rest of the season. -
I understand that but we would be a weaker team with out him. Players like lambert do not grow on trees. If he wants to go then fair enough but if not, as I say unless we have a guaranteed replacement we should not let him go. It would be unlikely we could replace a player of his quality for 8 million and as we are learning, spending big money doesn't always give us the instant impact we would hope for.

Why would we want to let one of our best players go when we are building a team........................................ unless we have a guaranteed replacement there is no way he should go.

EVERTON MATCH questionnaire for Love Everton Forum
croydonsaint replied to Love Everton Forum's topic in The Saints
The tone of the response I took as accepting it is ok to insult other posters. Felt like you were even pandering to the afore mentioned " forum characters" If I have read your post incorrectly I apologise but if it was made unnacceptable to be insulting to other posters the forum would be a better place. -

Sorry but if you are really a moderator your response shows why this forum is so spoiled by wums, trolls and plain idiots. Sorry but very disappointed with your response. -
Interesting, She definitely said that. Maybe just felt the need to say that as I had said I was a Southampton Supporter.

I think we have done very well so far this season. The luxury of a fantastic start [pretty much unheard of for us] and a real identity with our style of play, it has been great that we are now a team that is acknowledged as a good team. When you look at the teams above us the only one that I would like to think we could possibly end up above is Newcastle but the others, Arsenal,Man City,Chelsea Liverpool,Everton, Man U, Spurs, these will take dramatic progress to be above after a whole season. I would say 9th place is pretty much on par and would probably be slightly disappointed if we finished beneath this position. Any thing above would be exceptional. I can really see that if we can get in a few more players and keep our best ones, with a few more of the young lads coming through, that we could very well move into the top 6 in the next season or 2. The biggest thing we need now is stability for the next 3 to 4 years minimum ......................................

Have just bought 3 tickets in neutral area. £35 Adults and £25 under 21. The membership offer is £30 and 2 tickets at £20. As tickets on general sale did not need to sign up as member but had to give details to register. Said was Southampton supporter and they did say you would not be allowed to wear the Saints top in.

Think a lot of posters need to get reality check. 9 th position. Looking very unlikely to be involved with a relegation battle and 3 big signings from being top 6 contenders. Even as we stand probably a top ten team this season. I'm not complaining at that. Of course am disappointed at losing today and our weakened team will struggle. I am sure the management know there are let's say 3 players in the team today that should not play in our team and as long as we can get ourselves in a position where we do not have to play them we will have an exciting few years ahead of us.

His main weakness from what I can see is that he is not a particularly good goal keeper. I have noticed as a positive that when there is no pressure around him he can catch the ball if around mid height.

He got there in the end.................

Matt.................. dont go!

If you keep this up I know you will make his day............ Happy birthday matt, sorry I didnt post your card in time. Saints related as matt has been a Saints fanatic for 18 and a half years!!!!

Why are you even looking at that......................... all we can do is win today that is all we can do
