Koeman was a good manager for us and I would have preferred he had at least seen out his contract as he had said on many occasions he would. He was involved in keeping players back from moves, ie Wanyama and Schneiderlin so on a personal level I do feel he has let himself down [but hey ho] I quite like Everton but empathise with your struggle as you must feel like Portsmouth fans feel towards us with Liverpool over shadowing you for so many decades. Now you have money to burn maybe you could do a Pompey for a few years and have a few good cup runs. Good luck to you next season as I would imagine you will be hoping you may be able to get a little bit closer to us in the league table next time? From what I hear you will be struggling to keep hold of your better players which must be a worry for you and I hope you can have half the success we have in making new signings. Thanks fot the 5 million we have managed to charge you fo Koeman, it will come in handy to ensure we get a better replacement. Here is my prediction. You will either sack Koeman within 3 years if he does not do well or he will leave for one of the big clubs within 3 years if he does do very well. For me the odds are on the former.................... Nice to hear from you and sincerely I do hope Everton can start moving forward after so many dull years. Lets face it I would imagine it cant be nice living in areas like Croxteth Toxteth Crosby and the likes. Good luck.............No really

Help! any one have a stream for todays game in Florida?

I thought Shane Long was a very good signing at the time and could not understand the over reaction regarding the transfer fee. I had noticed him as an annoying player that kept niggling away at defenders and often getting late goals to win matches. Have been really pleased for him as I think he has a fantastic attitude. I think some of our players can learn a lot from him. 12 Million now looking a steal...............

Nigel Adkins Interview (Saints YouTube channel, Monday)
croydonsaint replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
We were lucky to have him when we did and I would love to see him back in some capacity in the future. Clearly loves the Saints. Very pleased the club have paid this tribute. I would not expect the same honour to be given to Cortese and that omission is very telling....................... -
Certainly I would put Koemans opinion of Prowse as more relevant than ours but I do find it interesting that he plays so much. I do wonder "what does he do" Other players you can label them easily enough. Like Wanyama breaks up play, Davis collects the ball and delivers it well. Long, pressures players is a nuisance, Pelle, target man etc etc. I can see the Warde Prowse has a good delivery and he certainly gets around the pitch but to me to no great end result. Clearly he is valued, you are not given the captaincy at international level or get regularly picked at Premiership level if you do not have some thing, but as of yet I cant quite see what it is. Having said that at the West Brom game there was a vocal minority of what I will loosely label as " our supporters" spewing their bile at him and Matt Target on regular occassions during the game. Definately do not get that........... Disgusting to hear.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
croydonsaint replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
I think the management should employ you to sit in on there meetings, you know... to put them right here and there. I cant help thinking where we could be if only they had you putting them right, putting steel in there spines and stuff. -
does any one know what has happened to Ramirez

Schneiderlin Joins Manchester United (Official)
croydonsaint replied to Bewildered's topic in The Saints
It will be interesting to see what write up he gets on the official site. I am sure more than the less than effusive ones when Lallana, Lovren and Clyne left for instance. For me I wish Schneiderlin the very best. He has acted totally professionally since his understandable outburst last season. He is a player that fully that deserves the success he is getting. Others have been less honest and professional in their haste to get the next big pay day away from us and it is characters like these that turn me off as a fan. -
I reckon Jack Cork last season away to Millwall and also Pelles goal as you could see how much those goals meant to both of them
-
Interesting as Cortese could only in theory operate inside Boundaries from Katharina. So clearly he was puffing himself up outside what he could deliver. All history now but shows how much damage he did in the end. Far better that the club be operated sustain ably, with no Ego and with respect to the clubs history all things that the little one was unable to do.

VIDEO: Ward-Prowse Q&A with Southampton schoolchildren
croydonsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
So he wanted to be a wizard interesting............... -
I can remember Curran getting plenty of stick. Another winger that could on occasions be sublime, but more often not that effective. Seem to remember him not having a great attitude??

I don't get into ref bashing particularly but today he was very poor at least 2 advantages played as said previously where we lost the advantage and lost out by him playing on. Also how he missed that penalty and seeing again on motd, terrible referring

i must admit I can't think of the last time I heard of saints fans actually obviously being vocally against one of our own during a game as certainly did happen in the 60s and 70s which has got to be a good thing. Can any one recall players names being booed during the reading out of the team over the tannoys. I am sure I can recall this happening but again not for a long time.

Bengali did get stick thinking back but now a true Saints Legend

It has always been that there has been a player that seemed to be picked out by the fans in a Negative way. I think my first memory was back in the 60s when Melia Melia would be chanted around the ground ( but not in a good way). I can also recall was it Mcmenemies brother in law Lew Chatterley getting his share of derision. Believe it or not I can recall Channon getting stick when he first appeared in the team as often his runs ended up with him fluffing the final pass or on the floor. Coming up to date Mane was starting to get this unfortunate appointment but hopefully he has now started to lose it. Interested in which players you can recall becoming the scapegoat of the team and I wonder how many of them turned it around.......

Thats what I Love. Intelligent debate.

Think you are either taking your role in the Saints set up a little bit seriously................. or you are a moron........ coyr!!!
-
Do you not think "that for a club like Saints to spend 12 million" shows our intent. Clearly 12 million was what we had to pay to get him but this is a very good investment. He is a very good proffessional and I am sure over the years his value will become more obvious to you doubters.

I find this statement odd. I don't know where you were standing but I thought there was plenty of noise. When we went one down immediately the whole stand was getting behind the team. I am not sure we were anything to do with the performance last night, very woolly thinking that is! Personally although I go to a lot of games home and away I don't feel the need to sing my head off. I just enjoy watching the team applauding when the play is good, when we score etc. I must be in the minority and am donning my steel hat as I am writing but the singing about Pompey....... and when I was born my mother said to me...........****** is just boring. I don't give a f..ck about Pompey [good luck to them]. Why does how much you hate Pompey or how loud you sing define you as "proper" supporter. I must be weird but I find that attitude a bit moronic? [please some one tell me it isn't just me]. Any way there was nothing "pants" about the support last night, there was no problem there. There was a problem with the team, which I think is down in part to the lack of quality in depth but also more worryingly about the fighting spirit unfortunately Sheffield United had in spades. I think Koeman needs to look at the commitment of some of the players and I do wonder if there is any break down in the dressing room cohesion. It feels like something is not quite right. Apart from that another creative midfielder a la Tadic and another top class striker so there is competition in these 2 areas and with Rodrigues back in the team and we should be in a better position to get back to where we were 3 weeks ago. Still positive about everything but last night was depressing..................

It is one thing you not expecting any to leave but you have no control over the big clubs coming in for the likes of Schneiderlin or Wanyama but possibly others. Just good to know with some certainty that we will not entertain these offers.

I am going to take Koeman at his word. He strikes me as a very honest straightforward guy and he does not strike me as naïve.
