I think that clearly Ramirez has that extra bit of class about him and he is likely to have a great career but he certainly has not made the impact with us that his cost required. I would like to see him given another run with us but if come the January window there are not clear signs that he can hold his place in the team we should replace him.. At this stage in our development we can't carry his cost with out a greater return than we have seen, unfortunately so far.

If Osvaldo signing does not come off and it sounds like we will know today one way or the other then clearly other targets would already have been identified. I would be surprised if we did not have a quality striker signed by the end of next week.

There is a problem on this site. I feel it can only be the mods that can correct it. I may be being unfair in my comment but I have seen comments from mods on the past that bring traffic wardens to mind. ( I am sure that is a harsh generalisation )If the known offenders were set clear guidelines and dealt with there could be a chance for the site to come away from the school play ground.

I don't think this squad is good enough to get into Europe, although we do have a decent squad. Probably at least 2 pr 3 top class players short. I think we will do better than last season as much because I can't see us starting as badly, the players now have experience of the league and we have certainly improved with our, to date 2 signings. I would be surprised if we could get into Europe before the 2015/6 season at the earliest. If we end up 10th or above I would see that as a very big achievement. This is a tough league....

To a degree Turkish you are correct. I can however think of posters that no longer contribute that certainly added something to the forum and can't help thinking that if the moderators had a zero tolerance policy to the known trolls on here that perhaps the site would attract some of these lost posters back.

This reply is exactly why I no longer post either. I totally agree with Reds post that Turkish has replied to. Of course we probably all know what a forum is for but I now also only log on to see if there is any more transfer news ( that will be the main reason I come on). When I used to post I found that many comments would have rude or insulting responses and I found the responses quite often only showed that that poster had not read my comment correctly so was making an aggressive comment on something I hadn't even said. In the end it just dawned on me that it is a pointless past time responding on this forum. There are clearly people on here that simply want to be noticed, want attention and nothing else. I totally blame the moderators. There are some football forums where the rules are very clear, ie no aggressive responses and where sums are jumped on. Some of the obvious attention seekers here would not survive on those sites. Why can the moderators not sort this out, after all in my opinion it is not much more than a handful of posters here that have made posting on here such a pointless excercise.

Not at all I have my opinion on him but really think it would be boring for every one, me included to go into them. My main interest is in southampton fc. Having supported the club all my life. I would imagine the news he is staying is certainly good for us in the short term so I am happy right now. My vote was cast as a reaction to what I think of some of the things he has done( fact) and things I have heard about him. ( perhaps not all accurate who knows).

I didn't intend to post but thought I would react to this persons moronic post. I can only talk for myself and I am not at all disappointed. The expressions of loyalty in the past day or so from players and manager have been interesting and on the face of it good news. Also short term I am sure it is good news, so actually I am pleased. I am not sure my reasons for voting against Cortese are required on this thank fully good news thread other than to be about my misgivings regarding the character of the man in question. Unfortunately only time will reveal if they are correct or not. I for one hope that this feeling I have about him are totally wrong!
