  1. 11 year old flies to Rome on his own with no ticket or boarding card. I rest my case.
  2. There was an incident after the BR game that led to the suspensions of Pardew and Downes the next morning. No conspiracy theory.
  3. Jesus H Christ how far have they fallen? A poxy equaliser that didn't either save them from relegation or stop our promotion. Anybody would think it was the only goal ever scored in games between the teams, still with a bit of luck it will be the last one. Boy did they take some hammerings from Saints in the past I bet folklore forgot them.
  4. As an ex airline captain (18000+hrs) regularly positioning on other airlines including charter flights, flying is the least of your worries. Get tickets that get you, priority check in, boarding and access to lounges in the airports that you use.
  5. More like Rag Tag.
  6. Security brought in in the late seventies is probably the biggest scam of all time. Totally ineffective unless it's run by El Al. How many people have had their bags searched by idiots who find nothing in the first four compartments or don't go to the bottom of the bag and don't bother searching the rest? I've lost count of the number I've reamed out over not doing the search thoroughly after starting to search my bags. The looks on their colleagues faces is worth the extra few minutes wasted. Even better if you have to demonstrate that they have missed something at the end. I used to carry a hefty bag of small change in the bottom of my briefcase to pay the crew their exact expenses. It showed up on the scanner as a black lump but it was hardly ever picked up in a hand search.
  7. Yes, packed special trains, best team available. The FA Cup was a special competition then. It's hardly worth watching now with all the reserve players drafted in.

    Saints Goalies

Fred Kiernan, Tony Godfrey, Black, Stevens.
  9. Romsey is quite short but tight and features blind shots and dog legs. The front nine is hilly.
  10. I agree with THEVMAN. Pearce seems to have no idea how to blend a team. He makes the same old mistake of picking names and sticking them where he wants. We showed nothing up front and the back four were poor. Butland looked a class act.
  11. They will be fitting out the night clubs next. Can't see all that attention to detail, then players out until the early hours drinking.
  12. Deferring their wages was a good idea at the time. Now PFC want the players to leave they rightly want their guaranteed deferred wages before they go. PFC aren't going to get the PPs due to football debt. The players can see that if they hold on, the liquidation will free up the Football Creditors rule, backing the deferred payments so they will get their money sooner by holding out.
  13. Top class all round keeper who can command the box, direct the defence and play quickly from the back. This is the Premier, £40m a year minimum, Cortese won't be sentimental. Big money signing every bit as important as an expensive striker. KD would be a decent back up and potential coach but too many weaknesses for No1.
  14. NMBY I don't live near any of them. I think the existing power stations are the place to put them. A bit of a monstrosity at the bottom of Foundry Lane. I do think we should dump so called green taxes unless they are ring fenced not just grabbed by the treasury.
  15. Been a member at Stoneham for years, mates with Richard Bland.
  16. The problem that Save Our Saints had was the the same problem PST will have. The money was running out, Pinnacle wasted everybody's time as preferred bidder and the only thing that saved us was a buyer able to write out a cheque immediately. Any group that has to wait until the clock is run down cannot react quickly enough. Chanrai will have to pull out which would leave PST the only show around and Birch will have to fund the club until money is raised. Providing of course the expensive players walk. Liquidation and using the money raised to form a phoenix club seems a more reasonable solution.
  17. No, put it beside either of the existing power stations at Fawley or Marchwood.
  18. It really depends on a number of things. At the moment a lot of saturated courses, so the chalk based courses like Hockley, Royal Winchester, The Hampshire, Test Valley are pretty dry. The pay and play courses like Paultons, Cams Hall, Southampton Municipal etc are good. Most of the members/proprietary courses are pretty good. It really depends also on timings and the cost of the green fees you want to pay. I don't think there is anywhere around I would avoid except to find out if there were societies/competitions (especially Ladies ) on, adjacent to the time you want to book.
  19. Wonder who is going to win the SPL for the next few years.
  20. I've played most of the courses in South Hampshire. Was a member at Stoneham but knees were finding it hard going so gave it up. I was also a member at Wellow and play there now. Lots of decent courses but price is an issue at some but 2 for 1 can reduce prices. Get Tee Times free magazine in golf clubs show special offer adverts.
  21. 7000+ off back tees, bring a good sand wedge because some of the bunkers are quite deep.
  22. Try Test Valley, just off the A303 north of Micheldever.
  23. Even worse SFC were never in administration. That's why the bills were all paid eventually after Markus bought the assets of SLH.
  24. So filling in the Census form is now a racist offence.
  25. I would accept proof but there isn't any. A lot of these reports are classified experimental aircraft a la dreamland. Others interpretation of natural phenomena. I once thought I saw something flying back across the Atlantic at night very close to the tops of clouds at Mach .80 but it turned out to be the moon rising and the edge blending in with an irregular cloud edge which shortly showed itself for what it was. Even the hover to 900 knots could be unmanned but over Belgium, that doesn't make sense.
