Gordon can I have a quick word, "velocity" priceless.

Can't see why he complains, asks the same questions gets the same answers, ask different questions and the answers may be different. Watch the video, positives'negatives, draw a line we know the response so why does he persist.

I don't care who Reading play in their team, the only difference between the two teams results in the last 12 games is a deflected free kick and a missed penalty at Brighton. Our record is W9 D2 L1 Reading W10 D1 L1. They are coming to play at St Mary's against the best home record in the league W15 D4 L2 44 15, they are going to meet a team who are battle hardened, well up for it and won promotion last season after an epic battle with Huddersfield. If they aren't absolutely on top of their form they are in for a torrid night. Whatever their fans think.

Sounds really ****ed off, still Eastleigh won't ban him next season, look on the bright side.
-
I'm looking for a Leeds, Birmingham, WHU, Middlesborough, ball busting, high tempo approach for this game.
-
Either way they will get the general drift, 2 points lost on Sat and 3 more last night added to our incompetent 6 puts them well and truly on the canvas sucking grit.

The penny finally drops.

They brought in Gordon Brown from Derby, he was awful. Brian Clifton was brought in from the reserves, brilliant in the air and very solid on the ground but for some reason Ted didn't rate him. What a goal that was, I think he scored a few on the run in. Tall, strong, became a centre back and was captain at Grimsby for years. We've let some good players go through the years. I think we are easily the best team in the league at home and it will take an exceptional performance to win here on Friday, WHU and Birmingham struggled, we have lost once in 15 games as have Reading. Their dead ball specialist Harte has won a lot of their games either scoring or delivering, they are no great shakes from play and I bet they won't be all out attacking on Friday. If DeRidder gets on he will tear Harte a new one if we give him the ball.

We are more than capable of winining 6 points in 4 games to win promotion. Why on earth with the best home record would we take a draw against Reading.

Crosswinds no problem. Started in Channel Islands, LBA, ABZ much worse than BHX. F27 was the worst a/c in a crosswind, poor rudder and a non steerable nosewheel, differential braking with pneumatic brakes needed to keep straight. Landed 737-400 and 757/767 at BHX downhill on 33 limits no problem. Always a workup, poor handling, late pax, lost bags you name it, BHX has got it in spades.

SMS is the last place any team needing points would want to play at this time of the season. Reading will be in a battle tonight against the crappiest bunch of time wasting opponents who don't care how they win. Injuries/sending offs possible.
-
Customs, (Its a training centre), Security attitude, only better than nothing. I was a pilot and I found BHX a complete work up.

The most jumped up ****hole of an airport you could find anywhere.

They haven't worked out yet why Bristol City are six points clear. .

There are a lot of fragile characters on here. This is a battle hardened team and Reading for all their form are up against it, I wouldn't like to be any team that has to come here and get anything. Anybody remember all the must win games last year, Huddersfield?

Good post, he needed a bit of a wake up call and improve his concentration.
-
Seen the slow mo, Varney followed through with the studs up. Could only be seen from infield. He should have been sent off. Should send the video to the FA
-
Guly seems to lack concentration at times and switches off. There are times he chases and tracks back but at other times he just doesn't see the dangerous situation developing. He does his best work by instinct which looks good when it comes off. His first touch lets him down far too often.

Saints / Reading / West Ham run in: Games to go . . .
derry replied to .comsaint's topic in The Saints
We have had some good results with Cork and Hammond in central midfield. I think they will do ok. I expect us to continue to average two points a game as we have over the last fourteen. -
He won everything in the air today. The management wanted Davis to play to him but were ignored half the time he went short then had to clear the return under pressure. Adkins also was trying to get Guly to play wide but was ignored.
-
He needs a quality penetrating pass from midfield either down the right channel or behind the defence. Nobody in midfield can play that pass. We need a midfielder that can play in the forwards.
-
A bit of perspective called for here, and lost their last home game 4-2 having drawn 5 on the trot at home. Next two games Birmingham and Brighton at home won't be walkovers. Brighton won't be easy for Reading on monday. Long way to go still.

Maguire was troubleing Richardson, Guly the nearest player who should have rushed in and covered his inside, turned and strolled towards the corner of the box whilst Maguire made bit of room and hit a screamer beating Davis at the near post. He could have blocked Maguire off but just couldn't be bothered. He has been pretty poor since the new year and on todays display doesn't rate a place. Lallana went down three or four times looking for free kicks and didn't get them and although I was too far away to see the detail he went down again in the box when he probably should have stayed on his feet. Today he was missing and allowed the right back to attack our right side causing us problems. Bringing Harding on did nothing but disrupt the shape. Harding for Lallana maybe but Sharp was an outlet, after that we never cleared the ball out of our half. Davis was hopeless today, the management wanted him to hit Lambert who was winning everything up front but he kept putting his defenders under pressure then had then to clear himself under pressure when the ball came back to him. One of my biggest criticisms is the number of passes we make behind the target forcing the player to come backwards and FFS why hit a pass crossfield to Richardson when a forward pass to DeRidder also free was the pass. It is a shame we haven't a midfielder like Grant McCann who is a good forward passer. Either way I think we are strong enough to kick on.
-
Agree but I think you are a bit harsh on DeRidder as he needs the passes to release him and just playing off scraps. I think we either pass him in or don't play him.
